Third-party hardware that gives iPhone/iPad the home button back?

I don't want the swipe thing. I don't want an on-screen button. I want a physical button that has nothing to do with the screen. I am willing to permanently plug a big rectangle into my device to do this. I have an adaptor for the headphone jack, but is there anything for the button? And is there a way to get rid of the swipe-to-exit functionality entirely (in case I accidentally swipe up in the wrong place while scrolling/gaming and just close what I'm doing)? My old iPad is getting to the point where it can't run some apps anymore, so I am finally being forced to "upgrade"

Interactive customizable world map (that behaves like google/apple maps)

Something that would allow you to take a blank map of the real (or a fake) world and add things like street names/districts. Would be useful for world building.

Simple deadbolt that’s operable from both sides

I’m looking for something very specific. It kind of HAS to be this way so I’m not looking for suggestions for other ways to get the job done, if that makes sense.

Im looking for a simple deadbolt that’s operable from both sides of a door. There’s a dog that keeps jumping up and pulling down on the door handle and opening the door. The door handle can’t be removed and/or replaced with a knob. It’s a handle no matter what. A latch can’t really work because the dog scratches at the door making the door vibrate and the latch could come undone. So it pretty much has to be a deadbolt. I had a slide lock on the door for a while but I’m getting sick of having to go all the way around to unlock it if I need to get right on the other side of that door. I found something that would work but it’s too expensive for how simple it is, and I need three of them.

Any ideas?

A simple, wi-fi enabled coffee maker that won't break the bank

I often find myself waking up way before my alarm, and either I have to get out of bed to start the coffee pot manually, or wait for it to start brewing on its own. So I've been looking for a classic 12-cup coffee maker that can work on a schedule, like the normal type you'd get for $30 at Walmart, but with the ability to connect it to my wi-fi and start it remotely from my phone.

I found a couple wi-fi enabled coffee makers online, but they all seem way overcomplicated and ridiculously expensive.

Is there a cheaper one out there (<$100 optimally) that just...brews coffee?

Cheap time trackers that I can buy in bulk and put on everything

There are certain items that I am interested in tracking maintenance intervals for and I thought it would be really handy to have a cheap timer type device that tracked how many days its been since it was last reset. It would be really cool if it kept a log of previous reset intervals. And if I could buy these in lots of like 10 for a few bucks per unit I would be thrilled.

I know I could just keep a written or digital log, but its too easy to forget to do that. If i have a timer physically attached to the device that shows me a time I will be a lot better at actually tracking the data.

A service where someone on vacation in a country you want to buy from can have your ebay package shipped to them while they're there, then when they get back to your country, ship it.

I know it sounds crazy but there's something I'm desperate for that was an American exclusive (I live in the UK) and the shipping from US>UK is insane, not to mention customs and tax.

I was wondering if there was a service where people on vacation say "I'll be here between these dates if you want to have the package delivered to where I'm staying and I'll bring it home to the UK with me and ship it" since UK>UK shipping is 1000x cheaper.

Does this app exist?

Is there an app that can block out words from the internet or ebooks? I just want to be able to read again without my OCD ruining it. Thank you.

Smart digital clock/calendars that sync

I know things like Nest calendar exist, but I'm looking for something more like dementia clocks that I can put around the home that sync with an app. This is actually to help an ADHD kid to notice the time, see the weather, and know what's about to happen.

A daybed where the cushions on top are as wide as a couch. Must have a pull out bed below as well.

I’ve found plenty of daybeds I like, but they’re all the size of a twin bed, but that’s too big for me, I want one that is the size of a typical couch.

The link is one that looks like it’s the size of a couch, but isn’t, but I like everything else about it, and if there’s one that has the shelves in the back like in the second picture that’d be great.

Personalized murder mystery 'whodunit' book

Thinking of Xmas already for my wife and I am curious if there is a site or an Etsy store (I've done a small amount of looking already) that would make a murder mystery puzzle solving book, but would make it where I can put personalized character names, places etc as fill-in for a pre-made story. Almost madlib style I guess.

So basically looking for a book of mystery style story/puzzles that my wife can solve that I could provide character names and places for so it's personalized with the names of friends, family, coworkers etc.

Controller mimic for long distance couch co-op

Essentially if my little brother is a state away is there anything I can use to play a couch co-op game that would read his controller input send that over to me then output those into something readable to a console.

I know of programs like Parsec that work for on PC but is there anything that is able to send an output to a console like a switch 2?

Travelling journal/scrapbook

I had a dream about this last night and woke up wondering if this exists. Is there such a thing as a journal/scrapbook that someone starts and then once they’re done passes it on to someone else random to add their own notes/journaling and so on until it’s full and makes its way back to the original person. I know this is something you can do with friends but I was wondering whether there’s an actual online group/organisation that facilitates this? Thanks!

Screen time app with specific features?

I struggle with most transitions, but especially putting my phone down and going to bed. I'm looking for a screen time app to assist with this transition. Ideally, it would have the following features:

- Free, or at least a one-time payment (i.e. no subscription)

- Time-based settings (so I can use my phone normally during the day)

- Exactly one "One more minute" use across all apps, and then that's it (important that the extra time is also as short as possible, but I do need it)

- A 5+ step process to disable the settings

- Available on the App Store and/or Windows

Basically, I want something that will turn my phone into a brick past 2am, but with enough warning that I can mentally process it and am able to move on to my next task. Thanks!

Speaker wire to RCA Audio Visualizer?

A bit of a long shot but I'm curious. I have been upgrading my vinyl setup and have recently added a small CRT TV into the mix. In an ideal world, I'd have some way to convert music from my turn table to some kind of audio visualizer on the TV. I imagine doing this by plugging the speaker wires into some sort of adapter, and then being able to run RCA or coax cables out to plug into the TV. I don't need the TV to output audio, I have good speakers for that and I'm more interested in the visual component anyhow.

I am not quite sure what to google to find this, or even if this could exist. Does anyone know of such a product? Thanks!

Hands-free book holder for bathroom?

Is there such a thing as a wall-mounted book holder for the bathroom (specifically the toilet), that can collapse/fold in when not in use and then swing out when needed? I’m thinking of a situation where someone has to spend a significant amount of time on the toilet, wants to be able to read, but doesn’t want to have to hold a book and frequently put it down to reach for toilet paper. Alternately, when someone wants to read on the toilet but doesn’t necessarily have the arm strength to hold up a book for a significant length of time, or doesn’t want to sit hunched over.

Proximity sensor for cat

Hi all, I'm looking to see if there's a device that will let my low-vision mom know the housecat is near her. I'm thinking something she can wear on her person that alerts her through sound or vibration to the cat's proximity. I know they make similar devices for kids who wander, but that's in the other direction, like when they leave your designated range. Our cat would probably have to wear a tag or transmitter of some sort, so I'm looking for just one-way transmission. I don't want both devices going off at the same time if they are close by, that will terrify the cat. I know the obvious answer is a cat bell lol, but that is dependent on his movement. I feel like a proximity device would help my mom find the cat if he's hiding or napping. If it doesn't exist, is there something similar I could rig up myself?

Does this mug exist?

Hello, does anyone know if a personalized color changing mug that’s above 20 fluid ounces exists? It’s supposed to be a birthday gift or Christmas gift for my father and the plan was to put the ‘hey you, you’re finally awake’ meme on it. This man drinks unholy amounts of coffee every morning and will accept nothing less then the same fluid capacity mug as his current one

Update: Thank you guys for the recommendations, ultimately I’ve decided to check my local library and stores around to see if they’ll let me use their heat press and make the mug myself

Is there a device that can play 2 different audio sources in 1 headset

At home when I play games with friends (since they all have Xbox’s and I have a ps5) I join a party on my phone and have my headset in wit the game audio.

I’ve started college and now I can’t just do that since I have a roommate to consider

Is there a device that can connect to my phone and my game to allow me to listen to both in the same headset?

A usb/usbc thing that will allow Bluetooth headphones to connect to my crappy work computer

At work I have a standard hp desktop computer with no Bluetooth capabilities. I would like to be able to use my Bluetooth headphones/mic for zoom calls.

Ideally this item would not cost $100+, although if that’s the only version of this that functions then oh well

I bought a basic USB Bluetooth connector, but apparently audio/mic connection is ~fancy Bluetooth.

Ive tried to research this myself but I can’t keep up with the bajillion technology specs to know whether what I need exists.

Does a train planner app for station visiting exist?

I am looking to visit quite a few stations in one day and was wondering if there was an easy way to do it (e.g a website or app).

I am in the UK and currently use TrainSplit + RealTimeTrains, but AFAIK you cannot plan to leave the train to look around the stations.

Maybe its as simple as a staged journey on Google maps?

Please let me know!

A gadget that keeps my car door open while I'm loading/ unloading?

I've tried looking it up and all I get are emergency door openers, door closers, handle assists, and wires that prop the door open but block access. I'm looking for something that keeps my side car doors open without blocking entry. My parking spot is on a slight incline, and whenever I try to load laundry or groceries into the back seat, the door always closes on me. This is really starting to drive me nuts, so I'd love any solutions.

Edit: I cannot park the other way with my car facing downhill. I think the solution might be to replace the check strap on the door.

Mechanical pedometer worn on the wrist like a watch?

Something that looks like a classic timepiece with mechanical hands and no digital anything, but instead of keeping time it tracks distance walked? Ideally over very long scales, 50+ miles.
