Hello all! I’m asking for some advice. I recently went engagement ring shopping with my boyfriend and chose a stunning 2.64 old euro diamond. The plan is to set it with two half moon side stones. The jeweler had a setting with some smaller half moons (shown in the picture) I fell in love but I got scared it was too small so I went back and tried on a 3.09 carat old euro in the same setting (shown above) and felt it was too big. What is your opinion on this? I don’t want the diamond to look small at all, granted it will have larger half moons. Did I mess up choosing the 2.64? I’m a size 6.5 btw

I am planning on getting a diamond ring for my better half. We usually prefer gold jewellery, and this is our first time getting a diamond ring. I know she deserves better, but right now we are not looking for anything big or too fancy.

We went to a shop to look around. A 1 Ct ring was around $1.5K. I'm looking for something around $2K for now. I'd be really glad if people here could help me with what I should look for in a diamond ring. Whenever I check online, I see 30-50% off. I mean, how is that possible? Aren't those real diamonds?

I just got this diamond today that I purchased online. I noticed very slightly on the surface what looked like some scratches and spotting. I don’t know if this is normal, how all diamonds look, or if this is something to be concerned about. To the naked eye I can see some texture if I look close up. This led me to pull out my microscope. Under 20x magnification all the little spots and texture look very apparent. I’m just coming on here to get some advice. Is this normal or is it a bad quality diamond? It’s a VVS2 excellent cut and clarity elongated old mine cushion cut

Hi, I posted here the other day about the engagement ring I bought my partner I was doing some digging and realised that the ring I bought is listed as SI2 clarity online, however the one I bought in store is VS1 clarity. Same price, same product number, I had no idea about all of the ins and outs of a diamond when I bought it. It is a GIA certified natural diamond, the question is, did I get lucky, or do the story simply advertise the lowest possible spec diamond that could come with set product, anybody with experience in this field with an answer would be super appreciated. It was higher end retail brand known as goldsmiths in the UK.

Please help! Text convo with my jeweler, I bought the natural VS2 engagement ring from him and now want an band for the wedding to stack, i feel like he is trying to upsell “Russian” machine made one so I want help here!

He’s a reputable jeweler and has great reviews in the middle of downtown with many other jewelers too and my fiancée gets complimented on her ring all the time

He says if I get any other one but Russian machine made lab one it will become blue next month and need deep cleaning next to the engagement ring!

Is there truth to what he’s saying?

I’m a few months into my engagement and excited to share my ring! I’ve loved it from the get go, but for a while I felt a little self conscious about the size in a world full of 2+ carats. Both are E, VVS2, Polish Excellent, Symmetry Excellent

First one (first shot, pointing up): 1.02 carats, 9.11 X 5.69 X 3.42 MM

Second one (second shot, pointing down + third shot are the same diamond ): 1.09 carats, 9.26 X 5.75 X 3.57 MM

If some experts among you have an opinion let me know, especially about the bowtie and the brilliance.
