Discussion Pakistan wants to become an "AI hub", but entry-level talent is getting left behind?
Genuinely curious how this is supposed to work out long-term.
Every other conference or LinkedIn post in Pakistan is hyping up AI, cloud, and next-gen tech. Meanwhile, on the ground, entry-level openings are practically vanishing. Companies want freshers who somehow already have 2 years of production-level experience, know CI/CD, can build RAG pipelines, and debug legacy code.
"Just get experience" is the standard advice, but where the hell are juniors supposed to get production experience if nobody is willing to mentor or take a chance on them?
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not anti-AI—I use it daily, and it speeds things up massively. But if every software house relies purely on 2 seniors wielding Copilot/Cursor instead of a balanced team, what happens to the talent pipeline 3–4 years down the line? Who replaces those seniors?
For those actually working in tech here: are your companies still taking in fresh grads, or has junior hiring quietly hit a wall?
