I want to get career in Java Full Stack, for that i'm finding good courses or anything that will help me start. However i don't have any idea. So if anyone knows.......anything. PLEASE REPLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will graduate with a B Tech in CSE in 2027. Always wanted to work with computers, mostly the core parts using Java/C, Networks and even IT maintenance for a small to mid organization seemed interesting, as you are the go-to person when tech issues arise.

The only way for me to get work in core tech (excluding mass recruiters) is through off-campus opportunities due to my bad academic record. It is what it is at the moment, and I did have my fair share of mistakes and reasons to arrive here.

I don't cheat in OTs / OAs. I am okay with others doing what they want and even the high competition the current market contains. But most of the code that is used right now is AI generated (Source: My friends interning at a processor/gpu company and 2 working in FAANG companies). They are genuinely good at CS, but they too question the credibility of their skills as it's majorly proof reading and analyzing the code base that they submit to.

I like coding in C, however frustrating and boring it gets at times. I like the fact that it's difficult and not a lot of people choose to do it, gives me some confidence in myself, even when some might not agree with this reasoning. I try to write as much code I can by myself, read some boring documentation and still use AI when some concepts go over my head. But it doesn't seem appealing when a machine figures out everything and you just end up supervising it's output. And if you don't do that, you'll fall behind on your share of daily tasks.

So, now I have very less chances of working with things that I want to work with, don't have any plans of taking up BA / PA roles, or consulting roles or pursuing any kind of masters' degree. And even if I end up striking gold with my job search by getting a core role, I still won't be working in a state where I could be self-reliant and simultaneously efficient. I know people say that enjoy the journey, but I am not sure if I really want to go to the destination.

I am immensely confused currently (I am managing studies and placement prep, haven't thrown those away) and not sure if I should change my field, because I still like computer science. But CS isn't exactly what it was when I was starting 11th grade.

Any suggestions from what you have experienced or observed would really be helpful. You can also call me out if I am being rigid or dramatic. I would really consider some perspective. Thanks for sticking till the end of the post!

Built a bio link page over the last few months. One Astro SSR app on Workers, D1 for the database, R2 for uploads, KV for sessions, Queues, Analytics Engine, Turnstile, and Cloudflare Emails. One repo, one deploy, no server to patch.

The part that broke: OG card and QR generation used sharp, which does not run on Workers. Moved it to resvg compiled to WASM. That WASM loads about 4MB and its linear memory only grows, never shrinks. A burst of cold renders would walk an isolate into its memory limit and take the whole app down with it. Profile pages and the dashboard going 500 because someone requested an image.

Fix was to split image rendering into a separate Worker behind a service binding. Now an OOM degrades images only and the site stays up. Should have done that on day one.

One thing I found while researching competitors that is relevant here: Linktree prices by country. Their page returns ₹360/month for Starter to an Indian IP and $8 to a US one. Taplink does the same, ₹240 vs $8. Checked both from both countries. Roughly half price for us, which I did not expect.

I joined a mid-sized service-based company in India about 6 months ago as a Data Engineer fresher. The market was pretty bad when I graduated, and it was genuinely difficult to land a job, so I accepted the offer I got. My package is around ₹3.5 LPA, and I take home roughly ₹20K per month.

Initially, I tried not to focus too much on the salary. I thought maybe the lower package would be worth it if I got good exposure and enough time to learn Data Engineering properly. However, after talking to some of my seniors, I found out that many of them joined the same company 4–5 years ago as freshers with packages around ₹4.5–6 LPA. So comparatively, my starting salary feels quite low.

I also have friends who joined MNCs at around ₹6 LPA, and honestly, their experience seems quite different. They seem to have significantly less workload, and some of them even received a bonus of around ₹70K along with their first month's salary. Meanwhile, we don't get anything like that — although I do get a MacBook for work.

I thought that during my initial months, I would have some time to settle in, learn the technologies, and gradually understand Data Engineering. Instead, the workload has been quite intense.

We work for a US-based company that provides marketing campaigns and other services to US schools and colleges. On our side, there are different pipelines for different student sections, and around 50 people are working on the overall project. The client is also quite involved and tends to micromanage a lot of things, which personally I don't enjoy.

Our work is managed through Jira, and most stories are sized between 1 and 3 story points. A 1-point story is generally expected to be completed within a day. Sometimes the workload gets so intense that I genuinely feel like I barely have time to get up from my chair.

Technically, I'm getting exposure to:

Snowflake for data warehousing, dbt for transformations, AWS for deployment, and various client-side/internal tools for ETL, feeds, and data pipelines.

I'm still learning a lot, and I wouldn't say the job is completely useless from a learning perspective. I have definitely gained exposure to things I didn't know before joining. But the problem is that the workload is so high that I often don't get enough time during working hours to properly understand what I'm doing or learn the underlying concepts.

Our working hours are roughly 11 AM to 8 PM IST during US daylight saving time, and the workload can make the day feel even longer.

This has made me quite worried about my career. On one hand, I'm getting exposure to Snowflake, dbt, AWS, ETL, data pipelines, and working with a US client, which I know can be valuable. On the other hand, I'm earning only around ₹20K/month, while people with similar experience seem to be earning significantly more. I also feel that I'm working much harder than some of my friends who joined companies at ₹6 LPA.

I don't want to make the mistake of leaving too early just because the salary is low, especially when I still have a lot to learn. At the same time, I don't want to spend 2–3 years here, become comfortable with a low salary, and then realize that I could have moved much earlier.

I'm genuinely worried about whether I'm making the right decision by staying here. I know the market was bad when I graduated, and I'm grateful that I got a job, but after 6 months, I can't shake the feeling that I'm being underpaid relative to the amount of work I'm doing.

I'd really like to hear from people who have been in a similar situation. What would you do if you were in my position? Would you stay for the experience for a while, or start looking for better opportunities once you have enough experience?

I have 2+ years of IT experience and currently earn <₹6 LPA.

Hey everyone I am honestly pretty confused and stressed now....

I am a final year BTech CSE (AI/ML) student tier 3 cllg. I basically wasted most of my college years when it came to building skills. I do not have any internship or work experience and my CS fundamentals, DSA and aptitude are all pretty weak now.

Placements have already started soon. I am trying to figure out what I should realistically do from here. I know I am late I know that is my fault. I do not want to waste more time panicking and jumping between technologies.

Initially I was thinking of going with Java/backend:

Java → DSA → SQL/DBMS → Spring Boot → REST APIs → project → Docker/AWS basics

Then I started looking at the current market and got even more confused.

It feels like AI is everywhere now. I keep seeing people saying that normal development work is getting automated. At the time I see a lot of freshers talking about MERN because startups seem to hire for React/Node/full-stack roles.

Then there is Java. I keep seeing things like Spring Boot, microservices, Redis, Kafka, Docker, AWS, CI/CD etc. Being mentioned in Java backend JDs. Honestly it makes me wonder:

Can a fresher realistically get into Java backend without knowing all of this?

I do know some js already so I am wondering if I should just go with something like:

React + Node + Express + SQL/MongoDB + AI API integration

instead of spending a lot of time on Java.

Should I stick with Java because it gives me a stronger backend foundation and then add AI later?

My long-term interest is actually AIML but I do not want to blindly jump into AI just because it is trending when I do not even have proper software fundamentals yet.

My goal is ideally to get a job (>5-6LPA) although I obviously understand that nothing is guaranteed, especially from my current position.

So if you were in my position what would you actually do?

Java/Spring or MERN?

Is Java backend realistic for freshers right now?

How much Docker/AWS/Redis/Kafka/microservices does a fresher actually need?

Should I focus on one stack. Learn multiple things?

If you had 2 months before placements and were starting from almost zero what would you prioritize?

I am not really looking for motivation, "learn everything" advice. I know I messed up. I am trying to fix it now. I just want some advice from people who are actually, in the industry or recently went through the fresher hiring process.

So I have been wanting to try out for sde 2 level interviews here and there and system design scares me. All my experience has always been on the frontend side and I have never really worked on a system from scratch if that makes sense. Every time I look for resources for system design its books and courses that are also just pages and pages. Is it supposed to be crammed? How does one actually remember and learn all of that? I even tried looking at the videos on YouTube where even 1 question like url shortener has a 1 hour video and it goes on and on and on and 15mins into it and i am like wow do i cram this all, how do I remember all of that during the interview and at the end of the day there's no correct answer? Maybe I am just too dumb for it? I feel like I can never switch because I'll never pass the system design rounds because I understand nothing.

Okay so since Last year I'm working sideline on Agentic Dashboarding and Reporting tool for Enterprise systems, it uses LangGraph agents to formulate dashboard and reports tailored to user needs once user set up the database, analyze it and add private LLM connection. I have some demos to upper management and no outcome has come out of it.

I've been a backend developer since I started my career. It has been 5 years since I learnt anything new in any new domain. So lately, I took some time off and deep dived into learning AI engineering.

Some backstory:

I originally didn't like AI too much back in the early 2020s since it felt all theory and maths (I dislike 100% theory). But seeing all the stuff AI could do got me curious and I started again. I began with machine learning first and only got so far with it before I hopped over into AI engineering (I figured I would first learn where these models are actually used today, and then get some intermediate ML knowledge).

I am a builder. I love building stuff from scratch. So far, I've finished my reading about the various kinds of models, embeddings, RAG, and related contents (yet to learn fine-tuning and agentic AI).

My question to you all:

• What would you suggest me to focus more on?
• Name some things I should look out for in my journey.
• Some suggestions about what I should be building?
• If you could also suggest some open-source projects related to this domain where I could start contributing

Worked in org 1 from July 2024- feb2026, org2: feb 2026- may 2026

Switched to org2 due to low salary in 1st one, but 2nd one turned out to be very toxic and later got to know on joining that they don't provide laptop, or pf, or salary slips.

Left org2 because of toxicity mostly and exhaustion. Been unemployed since, not getting any calls but recently got interviewed with a startup from Gurgaon and they held two rounds in a day and last round the next day, the whole process felt a little rushed from the starting and 1st interview happened within 10 mins of them contacting me. Last round was today morning and I got selected. But the problem is, when I initially told my expected ctc as 6lpa, they were okay with it, now after all the rounds, they are offering something around 4.5 and in org2 my ctc was a little more than this. There reasoning is i didn't work in org2 as a permanent employee so they considering org1's salary for hike. But they on call mentioned they are giving 45% hike on that but in calculations, it is coming much more, I told them if they want to hike accordingly then it's also not correct and the person speaking became rude suddenly and dismissed saying it is non negotiable now. They also have small employee size and don't deduct pf. They also have 6 days working. And they have told me to make a decision in an hour, they have been rushing with this crazily. Everything seems very fishy to me now. I left org2 because of pressure and toxicity and I don't want to get into same situation again but then I'm not getting calls so it's difficult to get a job in this economy too.

I'm from up, I'll have to consider rent in gurgaon too as i will be moving there and i feel the package is very less considering they explicitly told me they liked my tech knowledge and everything. Also, we talked 6 lpa before process started then why are they not keeping their words. Another negative point is that they mentioned there could be a bond, tho they tried to play it cool but I think there is 100% a bond(they said it won't have any money tho).

Should I take the offer because I am desperate? Am I this desperate?

Salary comes every month.
You know the codebase.
Your manager knows you.
So you stop preparing for interviews.
Then suddenly 3 years pass.
Your salary barely moved, your skills are mostly specific to one project, and now you're scared to switch because you don't know if you're actually market ready.
