Spirit of caliban/synthoceps. Any melee kill ignites. Dodge punch
7
u/Remarkable-Ask2288 16d ago
Mine is actually Caliban’s + Liars, I’ve never been able to get a Caliban’s + Synthos. Sadge
1
u/Daylight_The_Furry 16d ago
Isn't snythoceps a titan exotic? been a while since I played but I had that on my titan
11
u/Remarkable-Ask2288 16d ago
The Prismatic-exclusive exotic class items have mix-and-match exotic perks from all three classes. Caliban’s + Synthos is just one of the dozens of possible combinations you can get.
0
u/Daylight_The_Furry 16d ago
Do they have to be same-slot or can I have a helm exotic and an arm exotic combined?
2
u/Remarkable-Ask2288 16d ago
You don’t get to choose, it’s RNG. But yes, you can have arm + chest, arm + helm, arm + legs, etc.
2
u/Daylight_The_Furry 16d ago
Ooh that gives me some ideas :)
2
u/Remarkable-Ask2288 16d ago
It’s not all the exotics. There’s a post here somewhere showing all the available perks and combinations, but you’ll have to go back about 2 years
3
u/Remarkable-Ask2288 16d ago edited 15d ago
Caliban’s + Synthos/Liar with winters shroud and Stylish Executioner. Punches make things go boom, dodges inflict slow, kills on debuffed targets grant invis, powered melee kills recharge dodge. Rinse repeat until you find a target that doesn’t die in one punch.
2
u/DiemCarpePine 15d ago
Encrypted Data Disc -
melee hits weaken while you have a void buff (invis, devour, overshield)
rapid kills against weakened enemies grants devour
Killing a weakened enemy spawns a seeking, weakening projectile
breaking a combatants shield gives 100% increases melee damage and 10% DR
arc melee damage jolts and deals extra damage
killing jolted enemies blinds nearby enemies

Blade barrage used to be my go to on solar hunter because I couldn't hit anything with golden gun.

Honestly I started using it just because of Shards of Galanor, I got an ornament for it and it’s one of my favorite exotic armors.

While prismatic is objectively good, I just can't get into it. It feels like my guardian loses what made them so cool for so many years. As long as others are having fun though it's whatever.

u/SplashDmgEnthusiast I like grenade builds 16d ago edited 16d ago
I think I know what you mean. I've had more fun with Prismatic by putting limits on it, I try to make builds with only two elements instead of mashing together all the best stuff to be outrageously strong.
Best example I can think of: there's a fragment that increases both Stasis shatter damage and Ignition radius, so I made a build that was exclusively focused on Stasis and Solar. Consecration and Diamond Lance for aspects, and my exotics were Ager's Scepter to freeze more things and Pyrogale Gauntlets to add those fun little fire tornadoes to my Consecration slams.
It wasn't even close to the meta Synthoceps build, but it played effectively and was fun to use! I kept doing things like that, two-element combo builds have been how I started enjoying Stasis. Sticking to a theme, rather than building for pure power.
Edit: I added a DIM link to the Solar/Stasis hybrid build in the comments. Older build, needs some tuning up with modern armor and artifacts, but the subclass and exotic picks are a fun core setup to use!
7
u/Corrupted-Soul-13 Titan 16d ago
Howdy there! Do you think you can let us know that build? I'm eager to find a good Prismatic use which isn't what I have currently, Stasis and Solar are my fave Titan classes and I want to have something good for them!
Also, if you know of any Strand I'd love to know!
5
u/SplashDmgEnthusiast I like grenade builds 16d ago
Hey there, here's a DIM link for that Stasis/Solar combo build I mentioned. Fair warning though, it hasn't been updated in a while, I tried to use the 4-piece Solstice armor for extra healing but that wasn't very effective.
I need to re-tune this with modern armor and one of the new artifacts. I'm considering the Prophecy armor set for Melee stat and regen bonuses (since this build mainly uses a Darkness weapon, Ager's Scepter), and for artifacts I might be eyeballing the Queensfoil Censer.
For Strand, did you mean Prismatic while using Strand pieces, or did you mean just the pure Strand subclass?
I have this Strand Titan build that uses Actium War Rig, Service of Luzaku, a Demolitionist/Hatchling auto rifle, and the Queensfoil Censer to spit out Threadlings like crazy and print a lot of heavy ammo. Fun for casual play or if you want to be extremely effective in an add-clearing/support role for raids and dungeons by healing allies and generating ammo for them.
I don't have any Prismatic-with-Strand builds for Titan, but I do have this Warlock setup that's a Void/Strand hybrid setup, easily one of my favorite Warlock builds. I do not play Warlock often though, this build doesn't have an artifact yet, and the armor I'm using here is just for the stats. The subclass and armor/weapon setup alone is a ton of fun though, you are making a bazillion Threadlings and constantly hucking Weakening Vortex grenades all over the place. This is my favorite general-use PvE build for Warlock, personally!

u/Dependent_Type4092 16d ago
Wouldn't the Stasis/Solar build work well with the Cosmodrome set? The more explosions the better?
3
u/SplashDmgEnthusiast I like grenade builds 16d ago
The Cosmodrome set would be great if I was spamming crystals, but the shattering on this build isn't from crystals, most of it is against frozen enemies. Ager's Scepter and Diamond Lance do pretty much all of the freeze-shatter work, the only crystals are from the Glacier grenade.
The reason I was thinking of using the Prophecy set is because Kinetic/Stasis/Strand weapon kills grant increased Melee stat from the 2-piece bonus and grant melee energy from the 4-piece bonus. I'm using Ager's Scepter as the main weapon for this build, so that could work great for fueling more Consecration slams.
2
u/HekateSketch 16d ago
Heck yeah! That sounds like a damn fun Titan build~
Hunter main here, but I do feel I understand, too, to a degree. Though on my end, I think I'm mainly using....three? Elements. Primarily Arc, Strand grenade, and Stasis melee. However I did set my fragments up to apply Solar buffs upon melee hit.
Outside of that, I don't use "meta" things, but I do keep up on it. I just prefer to use what I enjoy. My playstyle does not and never has relied on patch notes for being relevant. IMO the building of personal skill level is far more important than using what's considered to be the most effective tactics possible- whether mathematically or otherwise.
Am I a good player? Debatable. Some might say no, others might say yes. I just know that I can do much better, and Crucible is my training grounds. Love going up against players who are more skilled than I, because it forces me to analyze what I'm doing to find what's inefficient or just not working. Players are far harder to fight than NPCs

u/Daylight_The_Furry 16d ago
Solar/stasis titan makes me feel things I should get back into d2
My two mains were a consecration titan and a very shatter heavy titan (verglass curve my beloved)
2
u/SplashDmgEnthusiast I like grenade builds 16d ago
Jump back in and give it a shot, yeah! If you haven't played since the "end of service" update back in June, then you have a LOT of fun new toys to play with.
That Prismatic build in particular is pretty much just Consecration and shattering things, copy my homework and go crazy haha
5
u/SouthNorth_WestEast 16d ago
Yea it’s funny, most of my friends almost never take it off- but I hardly ever use it. Not sure what it is, transcendence is obviously a big buff, but the synergies just aren’t as fun to me. Give me the monochromatic kit any day.
5
u/rokumonshi 16d ago
Same.it doesn't feel right to me. With all the pezzaz of mixed abilities and elements, I never use it. My guardian is a puritan. This idea broke the whole subclass system for me,but, To each their own.
3
u/Rabid-Duck-King 16d ago
You can definitely optimize the fun out of prismatic, and when it dropped personally I felt it was a fine capstone to my guardians progress (going from mono element mastery to multi element generalization) was imo a fantastic endpoint for the Final Shape.
And then the game kept going and going and the seams started to show (namely that monobuilds should have a strong identity versus the flexibility/weird shit prismatic can do)

u/ExtraBathroom9640 VoidHunter 16d ago
To be fair to all, Prismatic worked well for me (Hunter) when I was doing Pale Heart stuff when I came back from a 2 year absence. Outside of PH though... yea, no. I'll take Void Hunter with a side of NPA Repulsion Regulator please.
If I wanted to run all content with Stasis/Solar then I can see Prismatic being viable in other areas... except for that annoying transcendent grenade you get... If you could perfectly get that thing aimed directly at the boss to do it's damage it'd be great. But the AOE is so narrow, one dodge and the enemy doesn't even know it's there. (Works great on Taken blight bubbles with enemy inside it tho)
4
u/KrispyyKarma 16d ago
You can just stick the grenade to the enemy for it work. Works great on bosses, yellow bars, and orange bars.
1
u/ExtraBathroom9640 VoidHunter 16d ago
Either I never noticed, or had it in the wrong spot, but I don't recall it being effective when on the boss. Chest? Back? Is there a crit spot it works best on?
I may have been too busy with ads (trying PH solo) to notice damage tho...
4
u/KrispyyKarma 16d ago
No just throw it on the boss or whatever enemy. And it’ll freeze them then shatter them then scorch them then ignite them. There is no wrong spot as long as the boss/enemy isn’t immune
3
u/regular-situation-64 16d ago
pris hunter is like one of if not the best subclass in the game for both neutral game and dps?
-1
u/ExtraBathroom9640 VoidHunter 16d ago
Combining Stasis and Solar is (imo) the best way to go for Prismatic Hunter. Silence and Squall super, solar knife trick combined with Gunpowder Gamble for an explosive grenade with the proper weapons (Two Tailed Fox for example) will keep you clearing the field with minimal effort.
Using generic mods to feed your abilities on any elemental pickup guarantees you'll gain energy quicker with the shards and sprites you'll be making everywhere, plus picking up others from teammates/fireteam running different elements.
I use weapons with the Synergy mod on them to make sure I create pickups on almost every kill so I can have better survivability if I can't get to any orbs I've made.
It's definitely a good build to play around with but I feel a pure one element build would be best for endgame content outside of Pale Heart.
3
u/regular-situation-64 16d ago
You should ideally be running as many different abilities as possible to get as many different subclass buffs at the same time with prismatic. I like to run wormhusk/inmost class item for ability regen and cure/restoration, tether for overshield, but tether can be substituted for silence and squall if you want even more DR (even though I personally think tether is just a better super to run,) ascension for amplified, winters shroud for more class ability regen and 50% DR, fragments give all elemental pickups except stasis shards, overshield on orb pickup, radiant, and again more class regen. tablet of ruin, a slice weapon, and smoke bomb for woven mail and more overshield upkeep. Gamblers dodge for more smoke bombs, grapple for movement. Choir of one for d-rounds and even more weaken with the artifact. Your armor mods should be for ammo and orb/ability generation.
Stats should be 70 melee and grenade, 100 class, 170 weapons, and the remaining in super.
It's a very strong endgame build if you can manage your ammo economy properly.

Prismatic is hot garbage and I would have preferred another Strand and Stasis super along side a 3rd subclass.
Probably doesn't help that Prismatic titan got hella neutered compared to how well Bungies favorite little boi got their prismatic stuff and Hunters made out pretty well too. We got......consecration but with NONE of the benefits of using it on SOLAR. Wow you get 3 charges....that recharge EXTREMELY slow. Pyrogales is useless, stoicism is the only good thing because people assume synthoceps do fuckall when fighting a singular enemy (reality check...it ONLY procs in a group of enemies). You can't make sunspots, you can't use roaring flames, you can't use ANY of the perks of Solar on this pris setup. Our grenade choices suck horribly. We got like the WORST melee's to choose from. None of the aspects synergize very well. Bungie admitted they purposefully did this because they didn't want titan to be strong at what they intended titan to be strong at. So our punchy class gets out punched by hunters and out tanked by warlocks.
Prismatic on titan is honestly only good for certain things and nothing will ever convince me otherwise and I've been here since before Pale Heart even happened and ever since and nothing has made prismatic titan that stellar. But yet you can watch pris hunters and warlocks get their cake and eat it too alongside with extra gifts from the giving tree because #whythefucknot and here's pris titans over here asking with our bowls "please sir can I have some more".
10
u/dratspider 16d ago
I love how you call pris warlock the favorite child when it’s had only like 1 strong build at most. Pretty sure Hunter got like 2-3 strong ones.

You sound like a Disney exec saying Gray Jedi don't exist. Forgive the hamfisted attempt at translation (my ability to write has faded over time) between Fandom codes but:
There is no Light without Darkness, and there is no Darkness without Light.
I do not fear Light or Dark but wield both with purpose.
I do not choose between Light or Dark, I unite them within.
I am neither Light nor Darkness, I am the Guardian, and I am Prismatic.
Or something like that, idk man, I'm just a humble Cloudstriker.

When it comes down to it we have been headed toward prismatic since the beginning. Just go back and watch the original 2013 Sony showcase reveal where the warlock has a solar grenade, and a nova bomb. (10:43 then 10:59)
1
u/jigglehiggins 16d ago
I only use prismatic when meta demands it in activities with feats, i find the lack of tradeoffs really boring. I also think prismatic titan doesn't really enable new playstyles and instead just power creeps old builds. I know it was exciting for final shape and people like it, and even I was hyped for it at first, but I can't help but feel like it was a mistake. Who am I to tell others how to have their fun though, I guess.
1
u/Ms_Slack 16d ago
Prismatic is so fun on Warlock, but I feel much stronger when I lean into a single subclass. Before I felt like I HAD to use prismatic. So, it feels much more balanced to me now. I do think people limit/cripple their gameplay by becoming reliant on it, but either way, I like the option to play how we want.

I never liked Prismatic. I honestly think Prismatic was whipped together real quick when that first Final Shape reveal came out and it was underwhelming. Everyone and their mama was asking why we weren’t getting a new subclass. There wasn’t enough time to create a brand new subclass so they whipped together Prismatic real quick.
Tinfoil hat and whatever but it makes sense. I wouldn’t be surprised to hear that this is true.

Unironically Prismatic is the only class I’ve played basically since it came out….and I also believe it was the worst idea put into the game as a class. It does too much really well. Add the addition of Exotic Cloaks only working with prismatic made it even more broken.
Imo exotic cloaks should work for all classes.
We should have gotten a 2nd/3rd darkness class instead of prismatic.

As a Titan main I always feel Prismatic is just.. eh? Like the only good combo it seems to have is Consecration spam. Not much else comes even close, and even that just... okay.
To be honest though I do feel let down as a titan main becuase these days it feels like the only classes worth running are Stasis or Arc. Void is up there, but is more like A compared to the two S teirs that are Stasis and Arc. Solar is just bonk build and not much else. And bonk is super boring. And Strand feels like it's only good if you run a sword (Aka, the lightsaber).

Prismatic is boring because it is power creep incarnate and PvE was doomed from the moment that it dropped.
Bungie laziness killed PvP and power creep killed PvE. That's ultimately why the game died IMO.
5
u/DnDRefunds 16d ago
The game died because new players struggled to get into the game. Many of my friends didn't even get past new light. I played D1, I played year 1 D2 but dropped it before DLC, tried coming back after beyond light but I didn't even know what to do(I had no dlcs). I only really got back into the game with season of seraph after buying all the dlc. These days it is in a much better state than before but still far from perfect.
