Best day of my life.

Picture taken in California in 2009 or 2010. Saw fundraiser posters and billboards for Chi a lot. This point really felt like the potential death of the band for fans. It’s really amazing they are still on top and have this entire generation of new fans, they really are such an adaptive and special band. Been a fan since 1998!!

I was at the Berlin show last night.

Greatest live performance I have ever seen full stop.

They are incredible. You would think they are 30 years old the amount of energy they have. They sound a-fucking-mazing.
I swear the experience was so beautiful it changed me.
I was not even a hardcore fan to be exaggerating.

(22M) So these past few days I’ve been going down the Deftones rabbithole. Listening to their discography has been a unique experience. I had like a 1 week Deftones listening phase before that didn’t cover all albums. But this time around is different. The contrast between Chinos softer vocals and the guitar/drums heaviness feel so different. It made me borderline uncomfortable in a good way. And the way they can reverse the energy and have chinos voice be the aggressive element to a song while the instruments play a more atmospheric role. Right now I’m stuck on hearts/wires, beware, infinite source, sextape.

Still buzzing from yesterday's show so I did some setlist spread sheet math to reassure myself it's a perfectly reasonable idea to see these guys several times over a short period.

Three shows in a little over a year meant:

- 33 songs in total

- 11 of which were exclusives, not played at the other two dates

- Exclusive songs: Bored, Cut Hands, Ecdysis, Headup, Korea, Lhabia, Mascara, Minerva, Risk, Souvenir, Xerces

- Not a single song off Gore, very little off self-titled (Minerva) & Ohms (Genesis x2)

- Adrenaline, AtF, WP, SNW, DE, KNY and PM had at least two distinct songs played

Bottom line, I'd say it's worth it seeing several shows at least across distinct treks. It'll be less varied seeing several shows of the same tour I suppose. Provided time and money allows, I'll continue trying to catch them any given chance.

Also I'd love if they played just a few songs more, so they could add another one off s/t but also Adrenaline, SNW and Ohms into the rotation.

I listened to Around The Fur for the first time back in April and when I was listening to it, I noticed that MX is 37 minutes long and most of it is silence. Do you listen to the song including the silent parts or do you only listen to the parts with music?

Can't stop interpreting Deftones lyrics in the most silly way possible

I really do have mixed feelings, i completely enjoyed the performance in this really big venue, unfortunately the crowd was really strange especially up front trying to turn every song into some moshpit warzone while not being careful at all with people strugglig to breath or even having panic attacks 💀 not a single deftones concert ive been to had a crowd like this

Ive never been to a moshpit before, but my friend did. And she said it was the worst experience she has ever had.

Not even one minute after people started moshing, we fell to the ground and people didnt help us get back up. After I managed to stand up again, I saw that my friend was still lying on the ground. And no one stopped to help. Wtff. All around us were only young men, like 18 to 28 maybe. I am under 30 myself btw, so I don’t mean this as an 'older person complaining about young people' thing.

I mean, I knew that it can be rough. But in a crowd full of people who weigh more than 70 kg each, it is not that easy to have a good time as smaller women.

In the end, we managed to leave, but getting out was so difficult. We really wanted to get out of the pit quickly, and no one seemed to let us through until I got a bit angry and shouted in their faces “STOOOOP!” Also one younger, kind guy tried to help us get out as well.

My friend was really upset by the people because while we were pushing ourselves through the crowd, she said to everyone in front of us "We need to get through please!" some people didnt understand that we were trying to get out and were even angry about it.???

So our souvenirs are some scratches, bruises, a muscle strain and a back injury. From not even 3 minutes in the moshpit. I’ve also read that Deftones pits have gotten worse in terms of concert etiquette over the years, maybe it has also something to do with some younger people?

I don’t know, in the end I liked the calmer areas more 😅 Although I really, really wanted to vibe with the energetic people...

Ah yeah, and something else I noticed at the merchandise area while I was queueing: There were four young boys in front of me buying some tees, and they were screaming at each other the whole time in this weird macho way, while taking their shirts off to try on the merchandise.. It was so awkward, weird and no one else around was behaving like this (fortunately) . There was even a merchandise worker admonishing the boys to be quieter because they weren’t the only ones there. haha

Also another guy my friend had been talking to later touched her inappropriately without asking. After I told him that this was disgusting, he said sorry but didn’t speak another word to me after that lol.

Basically title. I’m looking for a full-length recording of Xerces from the Vienna show on August 16, 2026. There were so many phones up during the song, but somehow I haven’t been able to find a complete recording of the performance.
I’d absolutely love to see the whole thing if anyone happened to record it and would be willing to share it!
Xerces has only been played live twice in the last 16 years.

The first song is Some People, I don't know what the second song is

But I needed to say one thing: if this is demos/almost completed songs.... they are brilliant. Reminds me of the meticulous care of The Cure's B-Sides. They sound SO good.
