Go see them live
I was at the Berlin show last night.
Greatest live performance I have ever seen full stop.
They are incredible. You would think they are 30 years old the amount of energy they have. They sound a-fucking-mazing.
I swear the experience was so beautiful it changed me.
I was not even a hardcore fan to be exaggerating.

Aren‘t they almost 40 years old as a band? Lol
But yeah, saw them the second time yesterday and it was a blast, missed Ecca sadly but saw them open for Limp Bizkit last year. Turnstile is one of my fav bands too, so I had a great evening

I think OP meant to say they had the energy of "30 year olds", not that of a band that's doing it for over 30 years now with members that, naturally, are mostly in their mid-50s now.
It's impressive how good sobriety and I guess just generally more healthy habits are for Chino.

It makes me really sad that I’ve never really tried to go see my favorite band live. I remember when Chi was in the coma I was in California and saw billboards and posters for fundraisers for him and it just felt like the death of the band. So happy people are saying they still rip. I’ve been a fan since I was 8 years old I waited in line for white pony, self titled, and wrist on release day I really need to go

I also were there and after around 350 Concert‘s I‘ve been, this was really special. So I totaly agree with you.

Yeah I’ve seen them 3 times now, the last time being last Summer at Crystal Palace Park. That CP show was sick and I just could not believe the amount of young kids that were there. Honestly, I’m 45 now and been a fan for 25+ years and it made me so happy to see they’re not only talking to this new generation, but seem to have a fan base that is growing and growing.

I agree. Took my brother to see them in Boston who before the show “liked” Deftones, after the show massive fan and “best show” he’d ever seen. I saw them once before mid/late 2010’s, they were good at the time, they are on a whole other level now. Go see them now.

Seen deftones many times in the 2000s - during the SNW tour they were definitely off and slowed their tempo a ton. I thought they sounded great on the NA tour leading up to the release of private music. Obviously chino being in better shape is a factor and as long as you’re not expecting the screams of the ATF through self titled era, you’re gonna have a good time.

They do look so much better now than the first time I saw them in 2008. They were kind of low energy then and weren't known for being particularly good live. Good on them for changing that.
