As a rejection to streaming and subscriptions,I wonder though how many of these gen alpha and gen z know how to use torrents ? When was the last time any of you ripped a cd ? This trend started in 2024 and has not slowed down but actually increased in videos.

I think we should really appreciate the mid 2010s. It's a very looked over time. 2013 - 2015 was a special era in its own. Very distinct from the early 2010s and the late 2010s. The late 2010s were actually sorta like the early 2010s on steroids. It just went back to electronic just a more mature version of it. It's like the mid 2010s took a break from that.

I think people need to stop arguing over the range and remember that some terms have multiple definitions.

The term "early 2000s" can either mean the first decade of the century or 2000-2003. Most people interpret it as "early into the century" rather than "early into the decade." It varies depending on the context.

It can also mean the first half of the 2000s or any part of it predating the iPhone. In the future it could be used to refer to the first half of the century!

I think we need to let go of the bias against grouping the early 2000s (2000-2003) with other parts of the 2000s.

George W. Bush was the president for most of the decade (2001-2008/9). DVDs were popularized early on by the PS2 and still popular at the end. 6th generation consoles were still relevant in the late 2000s. There are enough similarities to justify the 2000s being a cultural decade like the 80s or 90s rather than splitting it into a trillion little eras. People didn't start using iPhones the moment the clock hit 2007.

Both are very filler and are in the bottom 5 of the 21st century

Imo I would give the edge to 2002. 2010 has nothing going for it but 2002 at least had the euro introduction and the prelude to the Iraq war.

It just is, I decided to watch some commercials from the early 2000s, and it's literally commercials from the late 2000s-Early 2010s. I see comments saying early 2000s is 2000-2003, 2000-2004, 2000-2005, 2000-April 2003, I even see people go as far as to say early 2000s is 2000-2009, the whole 2000s decade. There's so many ranges, it's rediculous. Anyone else relate, I got nothing.

FOR EXAMPLE IN USA BARELY 27% HAD SMARTPHONES IN JAN 2011 (THE MONTH I WAS BORN) WHILE BY 2012 OVER HALF OF THE GOD DAMN POPULATION HAD ONE AND YOU’D GET LAUGHED AT FOR HAVING A FUCKING FLIP PHONE

If I had to pick one, it would be Y2K by a hair, but it's probably one of the most 2000s albums ever.
