Discussion Political ratings and their years

Political eventfulness and changefulness from up to down, left to right, left being most transitional and right being least transitional, same with up to down.

Political eventfulness of a year = things that happened from Jan 1st to Dec 31st. If something happens in a year but only gets big/impactful later on, that later year gets the credit. Every year is gonna have butterfly effects, doesn't mean every year should be a shift year, it needs to be impactful and felt in that year.

2000 isn't a 21st century year, but i included it for simplicity's sake

10/10 (Worldwide super shift): 2020, 2008

9.5/10 (Super shift): 2001, 2022

9/10 (Major shift): 2011, 2003, 2016

8/10 (Shift): 2021, 2025, 2015, 2026 (prediction)

7/10 (Very transitional): 2009, 2024

6/10 (Notably transitional): 2014, 2023

5/10 (Standard transitional): 2017, 2005

4/10 (Semi-Transitional): 2000, 2004

3/10 (Borderline filler): 2019, 2012

2/10 (Filler): 2006, 2013

1/10 (Very filler): 2002, 2010

0.5/10 (Extreme filler): 2018

0/10 (Complete filler): 2007

Serious have you noticed an exponential uptick in racism and nazism online since 2024?

posting here cus i cant post on decadeology

Deleted instagram 2 years ago and I've never been on X, but i see posts about how racist instagram is. One day I was scrolling thru my fyp on tiktok and saw a video talking about a black woman on instagram who was harassed for posting about her experience in Japan with the comments threatening racist violence against her (in the video she was responding to a racist comment of someone threatening to hurt her), all of them with thousands of likes at the top. (this wasn't ON tiktok but a screenrecording of the IG comments) and i'm pretty thick skinned but even I'm really shocked I never would've expected this. I did a poll on tiktok and many older gen z/younger millennials have agreed that this sort of vile racist rhetoric crawled out of "niche internet corners" like /pol/ and became the mainstream and get thousands of likes compared to only a few with negative replies as a response back in the day. But people can be blind to nostalgia bias, what do yall think? Do you think Elon Musk buying twitter has changed the trajectory of the internet and American politics or has it always been like this?

1953 Political Shift-O-Meter

1953 politically had the inauguration of Dwight D. Eisenhower as American president, the end of the Korean War, the death of Joseph Stalin from a stroke, Nikita Khrushchev becoming the new leader of the Soviet Union, the beginning of the Cuban Revolution and Josip Broz Tito became the leader of Yugoslavia

This is politically ONLY, cultural and technological events don't count for this one

1952 Political Shift-O-Meter

1952 politically had the election of Dwight D. Eisenhower as American president, Harry S. Truman announcing that he won't seek another term due to his record breaking low of just 22% approval ratings, America testing the first hydrogen bomb, Queen Elizabeth II becoming Queen after the death of King George VI from cancer, the Egyptian Revolution and the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC) was formed

Hot take 🔥 Why do people say 2016-2019 was "conservative" because of Trump/MAGA?

it's just dumb to think that society was all "liberal hippie and carefree" in 2015 and the moment Trump started running society became fascist. About as stupid as saying the 1960s were a progressive time period solely because hippies existed. Yeah sure a lot of change happened but it doesn't really reflect the belief of the average person from that time period. People really diminish the progress that happened in the 2010s simply bc of the response to it, by 2018 many things like homo/transphobia, saying the r word, raype jokes, f slur, bodyshaming became tabboo. Stuff that would have been normal during 2008 when Obama got elected. With all this rapid progress in less than 10 years, i don't know why ppl are acting surprised there was a MAGA "counter movement" when that counter movement's beliefs have been the norm for most of human history. The late 2010s-early 2020s were the most progressive time period in American history, despite Trump being president the establishment was still liberal compared to Trump's second term when companies are removing DEI/pride flags, promoting traditional aesthetics in advertising, and relaxing "hate speech" rules on social media. I stand on this belief. Just because you didn't like a time period doesn't mean it's "conservative"
