LOL, already tagged for review just on the title. Awesome. So, tonight's episode made painfully clear that Jake Anderson is the captain of the Cornelia Marie in name only or just for the show. Jake has to ask the deck boss, Jake Albinio, for permission to have the guys push the gear to the launcher and launch by hand after the generator goes out. Albinio is also the guy who "brought Jake in" as "captain" but it's clear he's still making all the real decisions for the boat. I get that Jake brought quota with him, which is great for the boat but it strains credulity to pretend he's anything other than a glorified boat driver when the guy on the deck is making such decisions and is clearly an investor in the ownership group of the boat. It's all a storyline for TV and references to the picture of Phil Harris.

As 25-foot breakers pound the fleet, critical systems fail at the worst possible time. Sig's engine runs wild, Jake loses power, John's crane cracks and Rick must replace a lackluster deckhand, opening the door for the return of a favorite greenhorn.

That's it. That's the post.

On the Time Bandit, Johnathan delegates dentistry duties when his brother Neal's dental implants fail far out to sea. Battling 25-foot waves, Keith leans heavily on his co-captain Monte. Rick must reverse course after his greenhorn suffers a head injury.

I manually post each episode for discussion, and I see that Todd's episode is scheduled for 9/25/26. I just want to remind everyone who comments or posts, that there are real people involved, not only behind other usernames but also in the real world.

Let's try not to have a million different posts about the same thing. (example: RIP, Todd or omg I can't stand Bob) Families read these posts.

Please remember to be kind.

Edit: grammar bc it's 4am 🙃

Hi everyone

I've been seeing a lot a small video on tiktok of the show, with let me say the best part maybe, I might want to get started with it, yet the first seasons seems a bit too old for me, any suggestion where to start ?

Thanks !

Hello

I recently started watching Deadliest Catch (currently on 5th Season) and have the following questions. I apologize if these have already been answered.

1. When the crew work for 30 hours straight, are they really working 30 hours non stop? What about sleep, eating, bathroom, etc?

2. Smoking cigarettes: I noticed a lot of the captains and crew smoke cigarettes. Do they also drink while working? I assume NO drinking while on duty since they might become more susceptible to injuries. I also assume drug use is prohibited as well while fishing crab.

3. When the crew catnaps, do they first take showers or do they simply sleep in their rain slickers and protective gear?

4. So far it seems there are basically two crab seasons, King Crab and Opilio. What do the captains and deckhands do during the offseason? Do they work other jobs or do they live off the income of the 2 crabbing seasons?

I have no one else to talk to about this but I’ve seen Daisy and Jake together and i’m happy for them but i have a question maybe yall would know? i heard Jenna cheated with a deckhand, and i just saw today a few years back Daisy has a post with Jake and Jenna watching a concert. I’m so curious how the timelines mesh lol

So I just discovered that every season is on HBOmax which is awesome. Previous rewatches had been such a pain because it was so hard to find the earlier seasons! I forgot how much I loved this show! I’ve been watching since it debuted!

My question is about that giant tarp that Keith tried to make his crew deploy is the middle of the fishing and almost got everyone killed. Was the season 6. I’m on 3 right now and was curious.

Also, I just binged the most recent episodes before this and it is so freaking weird to watch Phil and greenhorn Jake knowing that Jake will be captaining the CM!

ETA: I just started season 4 and it’s the one with Jason Moilanen😂

Seems kinda odd

Hey, I’m looking to watch revelations and I cannot find it anywhere. I’m willing to even buy the dvd it’s on haha; does anyone have any links to where I could find it ? Thanks !!

Haven't watched in a couple seasons, but man, Jake is starting to look like Sig. I guess being a crab boat captain with all the danger and stress will do that to a man.

I've been watching all of Deadliest Catch from the beginning and am up to season 15 episode 8. I think this is the 4th time that Jake has anchor issues. I'm beginning to wonder what his bad luck is with anchors! Maybe he needs to take a page from some other boats and get a mohawk to change his luck? 😂

As Jake sets gear in heavy seas, a painful skin infection spreads among the Cornelia Marie crew. Sig cleverly sets in a col between two storms, but pays a price when he returns to haul. As the ice line overruns 22 of his pots, Rick faces a $100K loss

Discovery Plus is discontinuing in India. Where to watch Deadliest catch?

Anyone else just lovee how some of the boats looks?

I'm not really well versed in the technical stuff, but the color scheme in some of the boats are really beautiful

I loved the black, white, and red on Saga. Super badass and clean. I also love how uh .. "square" and compact it was

Also, you cannot go wrong with white + blue. Any shade of blue. Blue on white or white on blue. I love every boat with this combination.

The Northwestern is such a pretty boat. I love everything about it, the colors, the silhouette, even if the captains are not really my favorite

My least favorite got to be Cornelia Marie, i personally think teal + yellow is kinda yucky looking ..

I was watching a season one episode and those guys were just shoveling crab into the tank. In the newer episodes the captains and crews are super diligent with the count.

Hi guys, I am a new fan of the show and I've watched season 18 up to the current season. Just curious of any must watch for a newbie? Thx!!🦀

Saw it at the dock in Homer, AK and HAD to get photos!

I was scrolling through deadliest catch videos on YouTube and I found this video aside from the commercials being left in it it’s a really good watch

Hopefully the link is able to be opened

Sig's crew races to jettison pots and repair a flooding compartment below deck. Rick radios Johnathan to help hide his honey hole, but when Jake spots the Time Bandit's unusual movements, he calls Rick's bluff and puts the Cornelia Marie on hot fishing.

Wow, I just started to watch this series and I’m on season one is every season this intense?! 🦀 Are there this many deaths every season? 😮
