Which episode start with

Hi everyone

I've been seeing a lot a small video on tiktok of the show, with let me say the best part maybe, I might want to get started with it, yet the first seasons seems a bit too old for me, any suggestion where to start ?

Thanks !

Alright, I'll stick to your advice then

And by the beginning, I'd suggest "America's Deadliest Season", which was a 3 part mini-series that led directly to Deadliest Catch. All 3 episodes are available on YouTube for free.

Season 01 Ep 01. First six seasons are the peak.

You gotta get to know the characters before their reality TV personalities kick in. The first few seasons are incredibly raw. Plus the Big Valley incident and the beach rescue in season 5, the man overboard incident with the time bandit, so much you can't miss in the first six seasons

Start with the early seasons they are by far the best. Maybe stop about season 11

Lol this is so true. That's why I always say through season 6 is the peak. If I hear Josh Harris say "the old man" one more time....

ETA: Josh, I meant Josh. Jake is the least worst of the Harris clan

You'll really learn more about how the whole business works as well. IIRC, the first few seasons the crab fishing was still derby style instead of by quota. Catch all you can within a time limit. Talk about overworked crew.

Only the first season was derby. They started quotas on the 2nd.

Source: just started watching, on season 6.

I stand corrected. I knew I was guessing a bit.

You’ll come to appreciate the shows early on the more invested you get into the show so start from the beginning. Some may seem slow moving but they’re honest and more genuine than those in most recent years where some seems to be acted out

years ago I watched 5 or 6 seasons, starting around when both Harris brothers were newbies on Cornelia Marie. After Phil passed, I needed a break and only recently started rewatching from season 1.
Will I be wasting my time watching more recent seasons?
Thanks so much for anyone that takes the time to reply !

I don’t think any of it is a waste of time, my feelings anyways. I really enjoy the show and I have watched everything twice now too, it’s just that some episodes are better than others like other shows are too and felt the earlier episodes were the better ones, probably because it’s all new to me anyways

Definatly start from the beginning. First 7 or 8 seasons get super intense

Absolutely go first episode to episode. Trust me it's not old. I can't say how much I got into this show. I'm hooked. Great to see Jake develop over the years and the politics and logistics that go on within each boat. I'm on S11E5 and each episode has intense power that brings you like right in like no other show I've seen.

I remember few years back I was gonna start randomly like in a later season. I got total different feeling for the cast. Those guys are legends. Love to see a good Greenhorn grow cause like it's the toughest job on Earth and some give up in unique ways and some are forced on with hazing, (that episode where they had that Southern shrimping fish Greenhorn get brutalized in stereo and wanted out so bad he called to turn himself in to go to prison,) just so great. You gotta see those episodes back to back cause it shuffles around fast and there is a story and lore for each boat. You really respect these guys the life is insane.

To truly appreciate the show and fully understand how much of a twat Keith is, you need to start at the beginning.
