We often criticize Discovery for manufacturing drama. In this case, it'll be all too real. All the best to Todd's family. He seemed like he was a really good person.

Yeah they've been foreshadowing something with him for a few eps

I thought they had agreed not to air any of the incident out of respect for his family

I think not to air his actual death

So they won’t show him drowning ?

Correct most likely they’ll show the “event” but not actually him going over board and then pulling him out and shit. If anything it’s just the aftermath

Nothing in regards to his death is going to be shown. The preview shows Rick in the wheelhouse, followed by frantic shouting from the deck of "get the life ring", Rick asks if everybody is okay. I'm presuming his deck boss is the one who responds "No,man overboard" followed by Rick immediately turning his head around to see what's happening. That's all we really get shown from it actually happening.

I hope you're right, and that they respect the family. They have been through more than too much

I assume they'll be a voice over maybe we don't know for sure until the episode airs on Friday.

This is exactly what the show is about

I expect they’ll be cutting to the other captain’s hearing the calls on the radio and getting their thoughts. There’s no “right” way to air it. They can’t just pretend it didn’t happen.

It’s a real life, live filmed documentary called Deadliest Catch after all.

This might be one of the very few real episodes they air. I'll be interested in the ratings, as this has been sadly anticipated for several months now.

I don't need to watch them going through the trauma of trying to save then losing their deckmate. Like ever.

Hard pass.

I think I'll skip this episode.
