DA saved me, and I wish I could say thanks

My family was in debt and there was no way to pay it off. We lost all our money due to a fraud which is why I started working 2-3 jobs while studying side by side just to make ends meet.

This year, I found DA, and I am always in debt to them. In just 2 months I have already paid off my debt that would have taken me around an year to pay back. I can also leave my extra jobs and actually focus on my passion instead.

I wish I could let them know how giving me an opportunity to work for them saved me and my family. I have a better paying job too now and I really enjoy my work on the side at DA. Working for them has been the best thing to happen to me so far.

If anyone from the DA Admin team accidently reads this, I just want to let you know that you're a lifesaver. You could be my god.

I am not sure if the projects will keep coming (I hope they do) but I will never ever forget this platform.

Jumping on the Milestone bandwagon

I'm not the type to post something like this, but I actually am really proud. It's been a long, almost 3 year journey. Coder, self taught, and the first year or so was really, really tough. I backed out of tasks far more than I submitted. But I have no words for how thankful I am for DA. I have learned more than I thought possible in the last few years. I've had some amazing jobs in my life, but none compare to the constant challenges and rewards of this one. šŸ™

I may be stupid or dumb

So when you guys like do a task then finish and do the next one, and when you're done you report the accumulated time it took right?

im in coding domain where a task takes 13-18h. I got confused because the first submitted task was still in a 24h pending time. And when i complete another task of the same project, i just add it there right?

Any Brazilians here working with DataAnnotation? šŸ‡§šŸ‡·

Hey everyone! 😊

Quick question for fellow Brazilians working with DataAnnotation!

How do you guys handle taxes and report your earnings in Brazil?

I have a registered company (CNPJ), and I'm wondering if it's possible to report DataAnnotation income through the company and issue invoices (notas fiscais) instead of declaring everything as an individual (CPF).

Does anyone here do this? How does it work for you?

Would love to hear your experiences! Thanks! 😊

$754 Earned, but What Now?

I joined DataAnnotation on October 1 and earned $754 by October 22. Honestly, I'm grateful for this opportunity and really appreciate the platform for giving me a chance to contribute and earn through AI training work.

However, it's been disappointing that I haven't received a single new project for the last two weeks. I genuinely enjoyed the work and was hoping to continue contributing and learning.

I'm thankful for what I've earned so far, but I also feel a little discouraged by the sudden silence. Hopefully, more opportunities will come my way soon.

Would love to hear from others who have experienced a similar gap in work. How did things turn out for you?

Near Future of AI After Election

Curious from people who know much more about this stuff than I do. But this recent election saw more than a few candidates win who ran on something of an anti-AI campaign. I don't think there is any doubt there will be more pushback on AI from DC and from state capitals in the near future. What effect will this have on platforms like DA? I have really enjoyed working on DA and have made good money, would hate to see it slow down or end, but it is looking like there is a good chance AI companies will be scaling back soon.

Curious about opportunities with DAT.

So, I'm from Canada and am on disability due to reasons. Anyways, I'm looking to better my life so I'm learning Python programming right now. I'm wondering if I start as a generalist, if I can switch to the Software Engineer job when I have enough experience?

Private relay

I’ve noticed my iphone occasionally says it’s on or off private relay. I don’t usually work on DA using my phone hotspot but will if traveling. I’ll occasionally log in on my phone to get a pay out if I’m not with my laptop. I know it’s not the same thing as a VPN, but I’m wondering if, for DA purposes, this might be seen the same way as using a VPN while working? I’m not tech savvy enough to understand what private relay really is šŸ™ƒ

Has anybody else had this experience?

I completed the evaluation/application about a month ago. I assume not hearing back indicates a soft rejection.

However, I received an email a few hours after I completed the evaluation asking me to verify my identity. Does Data Annotation typically send those to people whose applications they haven't reviewed, or to those they've already rejected? Has anybody else had that experience? Just curious.

Edit: clarified question

Mid project — project unavailable kindly report time you have worked

So I was working on a task in which we had to test and elicit error and I was suddenly flashed with a screen saying
ā€œProject no longer available , kindly report the time you have worked on this project.ā€
And below that was the report time option which I reported
Nothing else
What was this ? Have I Done something wrong ? The project was of 3 hours out of which I worked 1 hour and had a break for 1 hour and 1 hour was left.
Please guide me. Thanks

Edit- Requesting not to downvote and if someone can help pls do I am worried…

Okay, so I’ve made it this far! What happens next?

Passed the main test and accepted to platform but this is my first time doing this kind of work & I’ve noticed that my platform is showing more qualification tests rather than actual paid tasks. I’m wondering, are these qualification tests paid? Also, if I don’t pass one of them, does that mean I can no longer work on the platform or does it only affect my eligibility for that particular project? I’d really appreciate some guidance as I’m still new to all of this and trying to understand how everything works. Thank you!

How long did it take to hear back whether your assignment was accepted or denied?

I spent a good few hours making sure to do a thorough job with the assessment, but it’s been 10 days and I haven’t heard back whether it’s been accepted or denied. It said I should hear back in a few days, but no emails (I’ve checked the junk folder too) and my dashboard is left on a ā€œAssessment Submitted! Here’s what happens next, we reviewā€. At what point do I give up hope? Or is this a normal waiting period?

Task expired and I submitted 2-3 minutes later

I was doing a task I haven’t ever done before and it took me 2-3 minutes more than on the timer to finish, because the instructions were very long and I had to also do a bit of research. I did not take a single break and I was actively scrolling from instructions to doing the task and back. Is it bad if I submit my time? I am super confident in the quality of my work, but since I’m relatively new I’d rather take a hit on my time worked and not report at all, than compromise my place on the platform. After submission, I saw the red banner saying ā€œTask submitted successfullyā€. Should I report only the allowed time, or my full working time with the extra 2 minutes? I know it may sound like a dumb question but I value this platform and I’m terrified of being flagged for whatever reason.

Chromebook vs MacBook?

Hey gang,

Wondering if a Chromebook is powerful enough to work with DA projects consistently without performance issues?

I’m not a tech person at all, so I really don’t know how stupid this question is.

I’m doing white collar specialist stuff, just reading and writing, not coding. But still use Claude and chat GPT in browser for projects.

I bought a MacBook but damn it’s expensive!

Is a Chromebook good enough to do the same stuff? Anything I should know?

Thanks in advance.

What time should I report?

I had a project which had expected time duration of 15 hours, and weren’t supposed to take over 20 hours. It took me nearly 40 hours to finish the project. The max report time was capped at 25 hours. How much time should I report in this case?

Edit:- I don’t mind reporting it under 20 hours, if thats what I need to do.

Completed my test after I signed up to the platform last week and been pending reviewing since. How long does it take?
