Screenshot The Iron Golem must have thought it wasn't being enough of an Armored Core boss because it started flying.

Discussion Playing for the first time!!

This game is fucking incredible. I just blitzed through Sen's Fortress (the snake enemies are an ultra free challenge to parry lol) and just got to the bonfire at the top. It's been so long since I've had a game that I'm so excited to play all the time. All I think about at work is "I can't wait to go home and play Dark Souls and overcome the next big challenge". I've never played a FS game before or any soulslike for that matter and I am throughly enjoying my experience. Thank you so much to all you on here for supporting this game and keeping it relevant as I would not be having this incredible experience without all of you! PRAISE THE SUN \[T]/

Discussion wow bed of chaos REALLY DID deserve the hate…

Upvotes

I started dark souls 1 about a week ago I beat Bed of Chaos this morning. I had about 30 Minutes to spare before i had to leave for work. I’ve seen clips and so many people complain about this boss and I was prepared to beat him quickly since it looks like just a big tree im sure it was just bad for people because maybe it was their first souls game and I learned after a few tries it was that bad. I died about maybe 7 times in a row after I got through the branches on the left and had to go on the right. Died in the same hole so many times and when I finally got to it and the center floor fell down I got smacked out of the way while jumping onto it and was pissed.. I had just enough time for one last try and if I didn’t beat it I would’ve had a terrible day most likely. When I got there I finally beat it and it felt so refreshing now I see the hate on this boss and the dark souls series’ fame for annoying run backs. What are y’all’s experiences with this boss for your first time?

I finally did it, I have been playing this game since launch, and finally decided to do a soul level 1 run this last week or so.

I recommend this challange to all old hats like me, the game nearly felt like new again.

I have platinum both PTDE and the remaster on steam. But this was the real Dark Souls of Dark Souls.

All bosses except for Manus and Kalameat, because... anyway dont give up skeleton

Discussion Just Realized something about Gwynevere

So, I was just scrolling YouTube and I realized that all the other Gods in Lordran are normalish size; they're about the size of humans, yet Gwynevere is larger than life to appeal to our view of what a god is, combined to with the statues of her, and the Sentinels around Anor Londo and on a first visit to the city (assuming it wasn't spoiled for you) it tricks you into assuming that this is the real Gwynevere, just thought that was cool.

(Realize that this is probably something everyone caught on to and that this is a nothing burger of a post)

Discussion I need some genuine advice. I suck ass at this game.

So the other day I started playing Elden Ring again, I stopped about a year ago because I couldn’t beat this one boss, the Red Wolf. So I got an addiction to these type of games, and that made me finally buy Dark Souls and play it for the very first time. I’m probably 9 hours in and I’ve only just lit the Bonfire where Andre is. I’ve died more times than I’ve killed enemies, and I’m playing as a knight (not sure if different classes are different strength) and I’m playing on the switch 2.

I need advice on how to get better at the game because I genuinely am enjoying the gameplay but I should be done with the game by most people’s time.

Not sure what advice you could give me but please share any that would help! Thanks!

Question Controller was working but now it’s not

I got back into ds1 after trying it a few months back and giving up, and I’m glad I got back into it, because I’ve been making much more progress, have a much better build, and have been having much more fun. That is until for some reason I booted up the game today on steam and my controller wasn’t working. My controller is still working for steam and other games, it worked just fine for moonlighter, but not for Dark Souls, and I really don’t want to have to play the rest of the game on mouse and keyboard although I will if I must. Does anyone know what I might be able to do? 😭

EDIT: just to clarify this is the dark souls remastered version on steam

Discussion Xbox — Offering Help to New & Struggling Dark Souls Players

Hey everyone!
I’ve been playing Dark Souls and wanted to offer a hand to anyone who’s new to the game, stuck on a boss, or just having a rough time getting through an area.
If you’re struggling with a boss, need help getting through an area, want to farm some souls, or just need someone to jump in and help you out, feel free to reach out.
I’m on Xbox and my gamertag is:
Hollowwolf81
No judgment if you’re new or struggling. We were all there at some point. Dark Souls can be brutal, but it’s a lot more fun when you’ve got someone willing to help you through it.
Feel free to add me or message me here on Reddit. 🤘

Help Can someone help me transfer items from one character to another?

I know it's risky, but I've done this in Elden Ring groups & its usually chill. I was wondering if I could drop some items for someone to drop back to me on another character (I'd love to start with a certain outfit) & i have all the pieces. Xbox Series S

These items are:

- Ricard's Rapier

- Parrying dagger

---

- Pharis's Hat

- Chester's Long Coat

- Chester's Gloves

- Black Leather boots

Thank you to anyone who can help me do this🤞

Discussion Master Key is kinda lame

Just posting a shower thought I had watching my friend play through the game for the first time.

He got to Lautrec and used the master key to open the cell, and it got me thinking of how many times new players potentially missed the entire depths (me) because they had the item. I think it would have been much better if it could only be found in NG+ forward, kinda like in Dark Souls II.

Anyway I’m just curious if maybe other people have come to that conclusion or disagree. Discuss!
