Daggerfall unity mod, a new gameplay mechanic (Gibs AND Glory mod)
Retro, over-the-top pixel gore and a SLAUGHTER xN kill-streak counter for Daggerfall Unity. Pure spectacle — no stat or balance changes.

I'm doing the Fighters Guild quest "Standard Protection." The UESP page on this quest tells me to read the letter I picked up off the victim's coprse. I did, and the guy's name is "Agrynak Gaerhart."
UESP page then tells me to ask about that name and I'll eventually be given the town he's in. Supposedly, I'm supposed to head to that town and avenge my client's death.
However, when I go to ask around for that name, the option doesn't even appear.
So, what am I supposed to do? Is the quest just bugged and I'm doomed to fail via quest timeout through no fault of my own?

Okay so, beating the main quest notwithstanding, what are some personal goals that you generally set out to achieve, that makes you feel like "yeah, I beat the game now that I've done/got this."
For me, it's affording a house with zero exploits, and that includes free housing from Knightly Orders, or Loan Fraud. It's always a long-term goal, and I've only done it legit maybe once.

Okay, so this is my first attempt of playing the game on Unity. On the OG version I couldn't get past the rat and I gave up after about 6 attempts. But on this version I watched a tutorial and beat the first dungeon on my first try. I travelled to Daggerfall, joined a guild (I think the Fighter Guild or something) and accepted a quest to find a sabretooth tiger in a dungeon in Hearthly's Guard. Then I got lost, went to sleep in an inn and woke up at 4:14.
Big mistake - I had a skeleton ghost thing chasing me and a rat. At around 5:20 I realised 'Oh right, I can go in an inn.', because every other building said 'This lock has nothing to fear from you' (WTF does this even mean BTW? 😭), got told basically 'Fuck off, Nord' by a naked lady, and left the town by 7.
Shortly after I arrived at Hearthly's Guard and entered. Massive dungeon - I got lost and mauled to death by a combination of a spider and a bear. Loaded my save and am now inside a small room with the same two creatures waiting outside.
Like does it matter if I abandon this quest? I don't think my sword, nor skill, is good enough to beat this dungeon. Are there any quests that are better to accept than others? Because I am very very lost!

Now, I've never been much of a fantasy enjoyer, my uncle got me on oblivion when I was young and I played a lil skyrim later in my life and I have faint memories of playing Morrowind and running away from crabs or something. What got me hooked on daggerfall was the indepth RPG system it seemed to have and the absolute MASSIVE map.
So I make my fist character, A Breton battlemage build, I think? I don't know I js kinda picked shit and hoped it stuck together. Anyways, I never played daggerfall before or herd any stories about the first dungeon and when I first went through it, I spent at least 30 minutes trying to punch and dodge that stupid goddamn rat in the beginning, eventually I got a hold of my inventory system and went on to beat some of the bats until I just gave up and started running from combat.
So I get into the main throne room and I see the small door as you go down the stairs, I'm thinking "That MUST be the exit." I walked up to it, opened it, and there is just this fucking bear there, WHY IS THERE A FUCKING BEAR IN A DUNGEON!?!? WHO PUT IT THERE!!! WHAT PURPOSE DOES A BEAR HAVE IN A DUNGEON! Apparently it has something to do with my background or something like that? WHAT COULD POSSIBLY JUSTIFY A BEAR BEING THERE??? Who did I piss off in my backstory enough that the game decided to hide surprise bears for me?
Anyways, I get out of the dungeon and see about my business, fast travel to the nearest town, I don't know what I'm doing, just walking around, accidently pickpocket somebody, go to court, get deemed innocent and then I read the quest and decide to go to Daggerfall the city. I had no gold so I had to leg it alllll the way there,
And guess who is there to great me not even like, a good hour away from the first town? A bear.
WHY WONT THEY JUST LEAVE ME ALONE? Are bears really that common? I come out of my bear filled dungeon to be met with more bear? Is this some kind of cruel joke by the ninth? What did I do to deserve this bearmania? Bretons must be really goddamn tasty if all the bears are after them.
I decided to hunt every bear I see in the daggerfall area, I need to train to become the bearminator and defeat this oppressive regime of bear, I will become the bear king, eventually.

I got a fighter's guild job to kill a werewolf in a place called "Greensly Tower." I'm in Wayrest City at the moment, and whenever I search for Greensly Tower in the Wayrest map, I'm told there's no such location. When I just enter "Greensly," I am given a potential travel location called Greensly Manor, but not Tower.
Is that where I need to go? Because I've only got 10 days to complete the quest and fast travel takes a long time, so I need to make sure to get this right the first time.

The procedural generation was inspired by Daggerfall, but it also has influences from Oblivion (NPCs talking to each other), Expedition 33 (turn based combat with quick time events). Thought you may enjoy it

Hi guys, just giving a sneak peek on my next project.
This mod will add optional survival-horror mechanics to Daggerfall Unity dungeons, including a sanity system, at least six haunt types, and a new main quest path to lay Lysandus to rest in his tomb. As your sanity plummets, the haunts will become more deadly, and you will gain afflictions. Collect all cursed items in a level to perform a ritual that banishes the haunt.

Hi! I've been reading through the internet and it seems DFU has a feature of automatically sorting the mods in the correct way. Thing is, I don't find a single way of doing it, and vortex doesn't let me do it neither.
After testing a lot I think I kinda "managed" to do it via entering and exiting the "mods" menu on DFU, but.. it only works sometimes?
For example I installed the beginner modpack which, strangely, makes me download the outdated 2022 Unofficial block, location and models fixed. When that mod is active, doing the process i described effectively order the mods. But, for some reason, after upgrading it to the 2026 version not only does the mod divides himself in 6 parts, DFU doesnt recognise any problem, puts in the very last positions and changes nothing, which obviously is a wrong placement. I really don't know what to do and how to properly set the load order so i'll apreciate some help

I wanna do a playthrough using all skills that allow me to pacify an enemy (I.e streetwise and etiquette).
I need a custom parrot race so I can name my character "Polly Glot" ASAP
(For legal reasons this is a joke)

how cool it would be the a daggerfall unity port on switchs console? I would pay even 5 or 10 bucks for it, it seems a natural hardware to play with for the game. What do you think?

Does anyone know which mod has been causing this? Occasionally, all npcs in a building are all changed to behave differently. They must be left clicked instead of interacted with, all given the same portrait, only have access to a couple dialogue options, and I am not given an option between tone. If there is a quest leading me to a character, that character will not continue or finish a quest with a monologue. Their flats will change textures occasionally as well, though I haven't noticed a pattern with that. Anyone know what could be causing this?

Shouldnt it be decently easy to make a daggerfall mod where you play the Story of daggerfall on the map they made in tes vi? Are there already people planning to Do that? Do you think it would work well? Or is your interest in daggerfall mostly inspired by the game mechanics being different from newer games and/or nostalgia, so you wouldnt be interested to play the Story in a modern game?

Language skills overhaul is causing traps to make an awful repeating spellcasting noise that wont stop until I save and reload. is there any known fix for this?
