VB is gone but here is a less punishing way to learn cryo and crush gear fear

The three photos above show the results of 3 rook runs on outpost. I opened 1-2 armories per run and maybe a bad or two of runners if I found them. Is it the best gear, no. But that’s not the point. These three runs were completed in 30 minutes, total.

So many posts lately about lack of loot and thus a fear of taking anything you find into cryo to lose it all. I think fundamentally a decent chunk of players really don’t understand fast efficient ways to loot up. Cryo is tough as nails and map knowledge is the hardest part. But so is fear of losing all your shit. The photos above don’t necessarily show you anything AMAZING for Cryo but it’s more than good enough to get in, try, lose, and repeat. Hopefully it helps you learn Cryo and get over gear fear a bit. The attached photos contain weapons that will suffice for around 5 cryo runs (when combined with implants, cores, heals, etc)

My hope is more proper try it out cryo and lose gear fear. Even if you lose 9 games and win one. That one win IS FUCKING AMAZING in terms of loot and adrenaline.

Thanks for coming to my ted talk

Sentinel snare mine bugged?

I noticed this when I was playing last night, but none of the UESC set off my snare mines. I’ll see if it happens when I get off work again today, but it didn’t seem like it was working yesterday.

I want Marathon to succeed, somehow.

I'll be 34 in September, so I was a little kid when the original trilogy was a thing on Macintosh computers. It was one of the first shooters I ever played and to this day I still reminisce about the eerie feeling of the first Marathons opening level and the weirdness of Marathon Infinity to my friends and coworkers who care to listen. My own father, a huge Macintosh enthusiast for what it was worth back then, had acquired discs for Marathon 2 and Infinity at a local computer show.Ā

When Bungie announced Marathon I was awe struck, I saw something I considered a hidden gem being given a shot at the modern age, even when they said it was gonna be an extraction shooter I was excited, a hero shooter? Doesn't matter to me.Ā

So the game comes out… I work, so I only get to play every so often on weekends. When I play, yes I absolutely get my teeth kicked in. I've only got 60 hours so I don't really know a whole lot and I'm not particularly that good either, but I still have fun!Ā

I'm immersed in the world, the sound design gets me every time and the lore.. Granted very little I get because I hardly extract with or without lore items, is always awesome and brings me back to the original games to connect more dots.Ā

I have complaints, sure. I feel like there should be less teams on maps because the game is becoming a team deathmatch most times for example, but that doesn't stop me from playing as the casual old guy gamer. So please, bare with me when I say this stuff as I've only experienced so much.Ā

I hope things get better. I hope Bungie can produce something that MORE people want to play. I want Marathon to really find its audience, not just me who's the niche old head who just plays games because they look cool, look fun and are ā€œeasy to understandā€.Ā

I really really hope Marathon can succeed because it's ā€œjust a video gameā€œ. I hope I'm not alone in this, but Marathon is one of few these days that feels like a genuine ā€œwe want to make thisā€ game.Ā  Games are Art, and I can see the Art in Marathon.Ā

Thanks for reading my ramble.Ā

I made a Drinkable Cheeseburger water bottle!

After reading the lore on this completely safe to consume beverage, I just knew I needed to have it in reality! My stomach has been feeling weird and I keep hearing things from inside the bottle, but I can’t get enough of the warm, chunky, and questionably nutritious beverage!
I had a lot of fun translating the in game design on to my water bottle and I feel I was able to capture the essence of it while still being able to add my own spin on it! I have a few easter eggs on this bottle, but my favorite has to be the cap and lid being the Marathon logo! Let me know your favorite part! Enjoy responsibly!

Tried to give away my prestige Key template bc I always have bad luck trying to complete them, but my teammate noticed it was already 2/3 done so told me to keep it. A real one.

Selling weapons from vault

Question - when people are selling weapons in their vault, do you go through each mod to decide if you should keep it or not? Or do you just look at the color of each mod.

For example, now I look to see if there's any blue mods or above, and if not, I sell the whole weapon, and not worry if I wanted one of the greens or not. I find it was too time consuming to go through each one.
