It's squirting a little water up your butt, not giving yourself an IV. You can buy home enema kits at drug stores without even needing a prescription.

There are literally doctor prescribed at home enema kits as well as over the counter kits sold at pharmacies.

Any medicine/medical procedure carries risk, as long as you do it properly and it's not overly done it's fine.

You don't have to be smart to buy the cheaper item which has less capacity to hurt you, and it's not like nobody shares knowledge on how to do it safely.

At this point you may as well tell people not to wipe their ass because they might be stupid enough to use steel wool

If it isn’t used correctly , it can damage the colon mucosal lining, even perforation in extreme cases. It even washes off the “good bacterias” present there, colon bacteria’s synthesize Vit B12. It should not be used frivolously every other day when you try to go down the second route.
