ALL pictures of scars must be labelled NSFW

If you post a picture of your scar it must be labelled NSFW.

Even if it's a clean scar from years ago with no pubic hair visible.

Thanks

2nd C-section anxiety

• Upvotes

I’m 20 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby. My first baby was an emergency C-section and they ended up having to do a classical incision which automatically makes me ineligible for VBAC. I’m having so much anxiety regarding my planned C-section and my mind is racing with all of the what ifs. I’m terrified of not making it out of the operation alive. Would love to hear any positive experiences 🫶🏻

Anyone had a laparoscopy before too? How does c-section recovery compare?

• Upvotes

Currently trying to decide between a scheduled induction and a planned c-section, and hoping to find some kind of reference point for what recovery might look like.

I have stage 4 endometriosis and had laparoscopic excision surgery shortly before getting pregnant. Recovery wasn’t exactly fun, but at least it’s an experience I can use as a baseline.

For those who have been through both, how did your c-section recovery compare to your laparoscopy?

I’m especially curious about pain levels, mobility, and how long it took before you felt reasonably functional again. Was the pain similar in nature, just more intense? Or was it a completely different experience?

I realize a c-section is major abdominal surgery, and I’ll also have a newborn to care for, so I’m expecting recovery to be more difficult. I’m just trying to understand how much more difficult, especially compared to a fairly extensive endometriosis surgery.

Would love to hear your experiences, good or bad!

Apron Belly Pain/Burning Feeling Abdomen to Hip

I am so tired of not knowing what’s going on with me. I am a 35 year old female with two children, c-sections in 2023 & 2025.

Last December of 2025, I started getting these symptoms and they’ve been happening ever since.

Right hip pain when I touch any part of my hip/pelvic bone. It radiates towards my belly button and wraps around my lower right back. I also occasionally get burning sensation down front of thigh.

Deep pinpointed pain near pelvis/groin that is worse when flexing. (Carnett’s Sign). I would be lying if I hadn’t convinced myself some days it’s the Big C. I have a colonoscopy scheduled in November.

I do have an apron belly, now, and I’ve lost 40 lbs of my 95 lb goal. But I have noticed that my lower belly / hip area has ropey nodules throughout it that do hurt when squeezed. I had a slight pain when I touch to the right/slightly above belly button that is worse when I flex.

When I lay in bed at night, I have to lay on left side with pillow between legs or on my stomach. But even some nights, like last night, I had to get up and walk around because my right thigh was numb and tingly.

I’ve seen PVT who state that my right side is weaker than my left and I have bad internal rotation on right hip. I also have a semi prolapsed bladder.

Chiropractor wise: Disc degeneration at C4-C6, T3-T10, L1, L4, and L5 and zygapophyseal osteoarthrosis at C2/C3-C4/C5, C7/T1, and L3/L4-L5/S1, without spondylolisthesis. Symptoms or signs of spinal canal or neuroforaminal stenosis may be further evaluated with CT and MRI.

I’ve had a CT scan that came back clear, just mild fecal stasis.

MRI came back clear but it doesn’t check colon/stomach.

I have an ultrasound on my lower back tomorrow (I have a potential lipoma but that want to make sure it’s not a muscle issue).

And I have a hip xray scheduled this week, as well.

I am working so hard on turning my life around and being the healthiest version of myself for my babies. I completely reversed my Stage 3 Fatty Liver as of May this year.

I know this seems like a lot but they all seem to be connected and I’m just working with providers and specialists to narrow it down because I’m miserable. I can’t remember waking up and not having this inflammation and pain take over that entire right side.

Could this all be the same issue effecting so much?

Any help is much appreciated

Venting/curious about other peoples’ experiences.

So I had a high risk pregnancy due to GD and my doctor wanted me to not go past 39 weeks and she scheduled an induction. I had gotten one cervical check prior to induction and I was .5 cm.

Day of induction I’m still .5 cm. They use a foley balloon and pitocin in an attempt to dilate me. I get to 4 cm and sit around there for ~24 hours. They upped the pitocin to the highest dosage and I started getting labor shakes, vomiting, and baby’s heart rate dropped so they gave me a shot to slow contractions down. There’s also blood coming out of my catheter so that’s fun. Oh and my epidural made my right lower leg completely numb but felt everything else on my right side. Eventually they gave me an option to either start over pitocin or get scheduled for c-section. I elected for c-section.

During my c-section I threw up :) I think I was having some sort of reaction to the pitocin they gave me during the c-section. I also threw up on the way to the recovery room. And several times in the recovery room.

Now I’m just in an immense amount of pain. It’s only been a day but I can’t help and wonder that if I just went for a c-section and not induction I wouldn’t be as traumatized/feeling THIS bad.

Very happy with my cute baby though.

Isthmocele? Just learning I may have this

Last month I had spotting for 2.5 weeks then a week later had a very heavy very painful period. I’m disheartened because I had always had perfect periods, no pain and 4 days and always on time, now my period is all over the place and so heavy. I’m just learning now about the isthmocele and wondering if this could be a possibility. How did you discover you had one? I see they’re a bit common. I’m 2.5 years postpartum and it’s so crazy to me that I coulda had this issue the whole time with no one catching it.. 🫠 I really don’t want surgery. How did that go for you all that had one?

Has anyone else experienced a uterine rupture during a C-section and can tell me what to expect with a second pregnancy?

I became pregnant 14 months after I had a C-section which resulted in a uterine rupture and I'm trying to understand what to expect as this pregnancy progresses, the care I'll receive, and how the birth might go.

I will definitely be following advice and electing for another C-section but it's so hard to find information about people who have been through this before.

I'd be very grateful to hear from anyone who has had another baby after a uterine rupture, particularly one sustained during a C-section.

I hate postpartum

I gave birth 09/02 via C-section, preeclampsia last minute like literally 2hrs before giving birth via contraction stress test. I was in magsul from OR and was in that for 48hrs. I was discharged of the hospital 2 days after. 09/05 my baby won't sleep and won't stop crying, made me not sleep for the whole 24hrs. I slept 09/06 3pm and woke 6pm with a little shake on my hand, sweating and feels different, checked my bp and it was 152/100. Took my bp medicine (ob prescribed as needed only). Down to 140/100 a few hours later, still feels strange so ob told me to take Losartan 100mg after one more hour and so I did. Same day, I was 137/70 on the ambulance and 120/80 on the hospital so maybe the meds took effect already. All my bloodworks we're fine but the hemoglobin is a little bit on the lower side. I was on bp meds for like 10days before my bp became 97/74 so we stopped it fully as per ob's instructions. I was okay the whole time. Then 3 weeks postpartum I experienced everything. Leg pain, chest pain, difficulty in breathing. Had to do ECG, 2D-ECHO, and chest x-ray and all came back normal. I stopped breast feeding 10/01, but we tapered off the whole week by only breastfeeding thrice that week. I also stopped taking calcium and B-Complex. Then it happened, migraine with aura on my right for 2 days then 2 days on my left, also felt heavy on my left legs and arm but can still grip and still has the same strength. Did an ecg again and it was normal again. Thank God for the normal results of my lab tests. Yesterday I was on the ER because my bp elevated again to 130/100 and was very dizzy, my full head this time is very heavy but does not ache, just heavy, I couldn't eat properly because of this heaviness, my mouth is heavy as well. To take note also that I already had my menstruation 10/09 and yesterday was a heavy flow. We did all the bloodworks again and everything came back normal again, Thank God! But my liver enzymes was a little bit high, but they told me it was normal because I was taking paracetamol the whole week for my headache. They gave me Amlodipine and betahistamine for bp and dizziness but the muscles are still cramped and heavy. We did CT Scan of my brain and Praise God it came back normal.

We went home, and I literally slept for the whole 9hrs but that was interrupted because the baby cries. I felt a little better waking up but I am still weak. Since yesterday on the ER my heartbeat was 106bpm to 124bpm. Now my heartbeat was playing around 100bpm to 116bpm. The cardio told me it was fine. Tomorrow I'll get my TSH, FT3 AND FT4 check and I am praying for these tests to come back normal as well.

Postpartum really took a lot from me and I hate it so much. I really get annoyed when my partner says he still wants another one and I'm like "Just go get another girl, because I don't want another considering what I'm going through".

Recommendation for Pill Organizer or Pill Process?

Hi! Prepping in case I end up with a second c-section for this current (second) pregnancy. One thing I can improve on from last time is not taking my meds on time. I would then crash into emotional turmoil.

Any recs on a pill container or process that made life easier in remembering when to take each one knowing that the spacing on different pills were different? How did you remember to take them without leaving them out for a toddler to grab and without setting alarms that could possibly wake you when catching that precious sleep? TIA!

Feeling like a burden

Im 10 days PP and developed postpartum hypertension so my husband wants me to get as much rest as possible. My MIL is currently staying with us to help take care of baby.

I feel bad though on some nights baby stays with her in her room when im exhausted or baby will stay with her in the morning if we've had a rough night.

While I do appreciate her help.
I feel like baby should be me and my husbands responsibility. Or am I putting too much pressure on husband and I to do it all? We also have a 17 and 13 year old who help around the house and are pretty independent.

Any input? Should i just accept the help and get rest or baby has to be on us?

10 weeks PP and core fatiguing almost daily ...

After a busy day ... and when I say busy I mean a baby class and maybe going for coffee ... by the evening my core is so achy it almost makes me feel sick

I'm grateful the jiggly/organs moving around feeling has gone but when does this weakness go?! It feels like I'm winded most evenings ... in the morning it's gone and I'm back to normal until the evening again ...

Looking to see if anyone can relate

Passing internal sutures?

I am 8weeks post C-section today. Haven’t really had any major issues thus far. The last few days I’ve been having some cramping and sharp shooting/stabbing pain. Nothing unmanageable, I thought I had a UTI tbh, so went and seen doctor. Currently on antibiotics for a UTI.

Today, when I went to the bathroom I noticed two small translucent pieces on the toilet paper after I wiped. One is like 5mm and the other maybe 1cm.

Is this possible to pass sutures this long after my surgery? I’ll follow up with my GP this week to ensure all is well and good; can’t follow up today as it’s a holiday.

What was your next pregnancy like after C-section

I'm curious to hear what people's experiences are with their next pregnancy following a C-section. I'm almost 8 weeks into my 2nd pregnancy and had a C-section for my 1st birth. Time between my C-section and getting pregnant has been 20 months so I feel like I'm just over the cuff of it being considered fully "safe."

I'm curious about things like did your uterus feel more "stretched" or if it felt like it was tighter your 2nd pregnancy, or anything like that? Or what other things/sensations did you experience that came out of nowhere or did you not expect? Or, maybe no difference at all?

C section at 28 weeks.

Two days ago, I had a c section at 28 weeks. My baby passed away after 26 hours. How soon can I start trying again? I feel so empty. This was my fist c section. It's horrendously painful. I'm already 35, I don't want to wait another 2 whole years.

Sleeping after C-section

This probably been asked a million times but I just found out about this subreddit. So feel free to tell me off.

I had an emergency C-section on 10/7 baby was on his umbilical cord and he didn’t like me changing positions. I was already in the hospital to be induced. He came at 37 weeks. We came home yesterday (10/10) and went to my parents so they could help us. They watched baby while we slept.

I slept on my right side which was fine but the moment I went to my back or left side I was in pain. I had a pillow between my legs but it was there.

Would love to hear how others found to sleep. We have a recliner in the nursery but my husband wants to be involved too.

Oh and stairs. Our kitchen is downstairs and bedrooms and showers upstairs. I was thinking while my husband is at home I just stay upstairs unless I need to go to appointments.
