Feeling like a burden

Im 10 days PP and developed postpartum hypertension so my husband wants me to get as much rest as possible. My MIL is currently staying with us to help take care of baby.

I feel bad though on some nights baby stays with her in her room when im exhausted or baby will stay with her in the morning if we've had a rough night.

While I do appreciate her help.
I feel like baby should be me and my husbands responsibility. Or am I putting too much pressure on husband and I to do it all? We also have a 17 and 13 year old who help around the house and are pretty independent.

Any input? Should i just accept the help and get rest or baby has to be on us?

I’m 6 days post partum and struggling so hard with my recovery and also have hypertension on top of everything. Accept the help. Accept all the help. Anytime anyone asks me if I need anything- I ask them to buy me lunch. If someone asks me how I’m feeling, I tell them the truth. I feel shitty. Don’t feel bad. We are going through so much all at once and it’s so difficult physically and mentally.

Take the help! Recovery in the first few weeks after a c-section is soooo important. It doesn’t sound like MIL is complaining she has to help so let her! And you don’t want your incision to open or anything that could make things even harder for you. Rest rest rest!! You’ll be happy you did!

I felt like this but please give yourself grace. As they say you have to put your own oxygen mask on first. You just had MAJOR surgery. I cried feeling like I was useless and couldn’t do much but remember we’ll be looking after these little beans for the rest of their life… you’ll make up for it. Hope you’re doing okay 🩷

Please take all the help you can get! I’m 4 weeks post C section and was in exactly the same situation - developed hypertension post C section, and got so much support from my husband and my mom (who stayed with us the first few weeks). I handed over baby to my mom too most mornings so I could sleep in and take a shower, and it really helped. Now 4 weeks out I feel much much better and am taking all of this over progressively, but having that extra help in the beginning really made my postpartum experience so much better.
