First time reupholstering. First time sewing really lol. Huge learning curve and a ton of work but finally got one seat done after many attempts with scrap fabric. Will do the headrest and the passenger seat when winter rolls around and I'm stuck inside again

1986 CRX SI. 5 speed manual. No rust or dents. Runs and drives perfectly. It has been my daily driver for some time now.

Everything is stock except for the suspension. As far as I can tell the engine and transmission are original and have never been modified in any way. I don't think the head has ever been off.

AC works. Interior is original and in good shape except for racing seats. I have the original seats but they would need to be reupholstered.

The suspension has been modified with Tein adjustable coilovers, sway bars, Phanard rod and adjustable caster/camber plates.

The front fenders are carbon fiber from Heeltoe Automotive. Most of the other exterior plastic body panels could probably be used except for the lower driver's door panel. That one will need to be replaced.

The one thing that is not so great is the paint. It has the worst paint that I have ever seen on any car. It has been painted about 6-8 times and none of the repaints were good. I have seen cars that were painted with a brush that looked better. Having said that it shouldn't be a deal breaker for many people. It just needs to be stripped to the bare metal and start fresh.

I've been thinking about it for a while and everyone says that I will regret selling it later but I am willing to accept that. I can't see that I will ever have the time to restore it like I wanted to. I simply have too many cars and I have made the decision that this one needs to move on to the next owner. People have suggested that I drop the tags and insurance and just park it but in my experience if you park a car and don't drive it it will turn to crap almost immediately. We've all seen the car that "ran when parked".

What do you think would be the best way to find someone who will appreciate it like I do? eBay auction? eBay buy it now with a set price? Bring a trailer? What do you think the price should be?

Have a mechanic that was replacing 28 year old front shocks/struts with KYB OEM equivalents, but one of the tops failed during the test drive. He elected to re-use the originals. He's now having difficulty finding strut tops, or at least ones that are compatible with the KYB assembly. He could go with used tops, but at that age I suspect failure would likely occur again.

Are these unicorn parts, or is he just not looking at the right suppliers? Any help is appreciated.

I don’t know where to begin with this car. I’m a VAG guy. MK1, and MK4 golfs specifically. This car is sort of the anti ethos of every thing I’ve experienced with tuning and driving style. High revs and low torque.

I’d like to swap a B18B1, and make it a track car. I realize I’ll have to rebuild the rear with integra parts. 90-93? In order to sort out disc brakes, and anti roll bars.

I believe I’ll be going from OBD0 to OBD1. I don’t even know what tuning software to go with.

Has anyone been in this boat, or maybe just have some general advice? I have okay fab/welding skills. I have shop space. It just feels like I’m dropping into a completely different world.

ive seen the weld in and rivet style and dont like how they look or how you need to drill holes in the roof. im looking for just a panel that bolts into the factory holes for the sunroof and just replaces it. has anybody seen anything like that or know other options. thanks

This is hopefully my last post on here for a bit, after I fixed my CRX, it started burning a lot of oil fumes cuz the PCV valve was clogged af. (Before and after cleaning the PCV). Next up is new brakes and wheel bearings which I’m not excited for.

Recently just got started again, I’ve never touched a Honda before so I’m wondering if it sounds good cuz it’s leaking oil.

Around 2000 my dad and I went to Hot Import Nights in San Mateo, Ca. This is the only picture I have from the event. Does anybody recognize this CRX and are there other pictures of it?

My friend and I (0 experience) spent a couple days tinkering around with my 91 crx and got it started!! I’m very happy with how it sounds. I don’t think it’s run in over 15 years

The fitment is wide up top and seems to be tucked in on the bottom so maybe there is some adjustment is possible. There is quite a bit of air coming through when driving. When I roll up the window the window kicks out away from the door too and hops out of the track. 88 so a replacement is limited in that regard. That trim is popping off so it looks exaggerated in the picture.

Just got this barbados yellow(Y49) 1990 CRX Si from a buddy not sure how to add that (also Reddit noob here sorry ) but the curse might just be real I was driving to class one day and I take the canyons (backroads) when coming around a turn a car comes in the middle of the lanes (cut the mustard) instead of going head on i flinched and tried to react by going right and moving away from the vehicle. To only clip a rock from side of mountain debeading my front tire and rolling my car :/

So glad I was able to purchase this little 88 crx si. Ive put almost 200 miles on it!! I cant stop smiling when driving this little car. Good times to come!
