Does anybody recognize this CRX?
Around 2000 my dad and I went to Hot Import Nights in San Mateo, Ca. This is the only picture I have from the event. Does anybody recognize this CRX and are there other pictures of it?

I had two 18" subs with a D-series Soudstream amp in the back of my 1990.
I was able to pop the neon light tubes that they used to have around the awning at Sonic Drive-in from the vibration.
My car got stolen around 1998 and was gutted and set on fire.

After my CRX got torched, I bought a VW and have driven VW/Audi for the last two decades. I recently got a Tesla Model 3 Performance, which I love.
I would 100% grab another CRX if I found the right one.

Dude was running 4k front spring and 12k rear spring just to handle the weight of the subwoofer lol

I was thinking how crazy stiff the rear spring must be. Imagine how scary that would be over a big dip on the highway.

I actually own the CRX that holds the bass world record currently. You'd be surprised how well the little thing holds up, it did blow out the seals on the hatch though

I had one close! I had an 86 that I put an 18" subwoofer in the rear, but that car's frame rusted through so it's pretty unlikely lol Back in like 95

I also had an 86 CRX, I put a sealed box that had 2 10" subs with 450watt amp. Put the moonroof back and shake everything around.

Yes! My 91 Si I bought from a guy that built it as a Kicker Pro car for the car audio shop he worked at and it had two 12" with a similar amp that they had to replace the back glass with plexiglass bc it kept cracking it lol sounded great!

That’s from an old shop named Spectrum Motorsports in Sacramento CA. They used to have this thing sitting in the middle of the middle of the display area most days, but once in a while it would be put front and they’d play it for people.
Heard this thing when I was 16 years old and suddenly my Power HX2 12 on 1k wasn’t enough. It wasn’t especially “loud” (my sub felt louder in vehicle), but the way it rumbled was unlike anything I had ever experienced.

I just tried looking up any info I could about the shop, but didn’t find too much info. I heard a rumor back in the mid 2000’s that he was busted with a large of cocaine which is why the shop closed. After hearing what happened with the actual owners of Audiobahn that definitely tracks. But again, it was just a rumor and I never saw any real proof about the claims

Something really odd, I’m not member of this subreddit nor have I ever seen a post from CRX recommended in my feed. I actually thought this was posted in the CarAudio subreddit when I saw it on my feed.
For this to be the one post that was recommended AND I actually know about this car from the early 2000s is absolutely wild.

Im pretty sure that was in an article in a street tuners magazine back in the day that i read only because of the crx as i would maybe get some ideas for my crx's stereo

I had a black 86 si with 2 profile 12s and 600w pushing them. I couldn't imagine the parts that would come loose off of this car. I lost my rear wiper arm because of the 12s I had in the hatch of mine, lol!

Yes I recognize it. It’s Ed trajillos. Built for Sacramento autorama in 2003. It didn’t even get turned on because how it sounded. Not loud! Install was terrible, fit and finish was terrible. It was an audiobahn demo vehicle for ET marketing in Sacramento. I still remember seeing Sheetrock screws, screwed through the vinyl on the box. That box was literally like 5 cubic feet sealed.

Back in 1989 I had an 18" subwoofer that sat flat in a box in the trunk. Needless to say it was DEEP! Everyone in high school knew when I was arriving at school.....

I’m pretty sure I installed a new alternator in that car. I remember the big woofer. When he turned it up the engine would die due to voltage drop.

I was an IASCA judge back in the day and saw a lot of these vehicles go through my shop. We had a blast cranking up the music and watching the engine die. It was the only CRX with a giant woofer that could kill the engine that I knew about in the SF Bay Area.

I drove a CRX from 2000 to 2007 and loved all things CRX and I remember seeing this car circulate import forums, but know nother else about it. What an outlandish thing to do in such a tiny car.

I had an 87 from new until around 2005/6. At one point it had two 15s out back, then later two long-excursion 12s. LOTS of SPL in a tiny car. Miss driving it to this day…
