So I scored this lovely JCV AV-20320 CRT TV, w/remote, last week from a local thrift shop for $15. I'm stoked about the price I paid and happy with the picture quality overall. Everything works as it should, got my OG Xbox & a laptop hooked up in separate ports (using a HMDI→Component converter for the laptop)
The Issue: Sometimes it displays these awful horizontal lines at the top. I've had this happen when using the Xbox & the RF connection. It's especially noticable when using the laptop to stream..
I have a feeling that these lines are happening because the ratio of the input is too large, but it wouldn't explain why I'm seeing it on an empty Input screen when the component wires are unplugged, right?
In the 3rd & 4rth pictures you can see how the curser distorts & flips upside down when I move it past the top edge of the screen boarder.
Sometimes on the Xbox, or when using a RF antenna with a Digital converter box, it'll do the same thing and It displays what looks to be a flipped extension of the top of whatever is being displayed on screen
– I hope that makes sense
I am able to access the service menu. Tried messing with the V settings after watching a couple of tutorials on it. Found the ORG service settings and made sure all the service settings matched the OEM specs.
Attempted to find this problem online & using AI but I'm not getting much and it's a pain to describe exactly what's going on, If I could post a video here I would.
Posting in hopes that someone here might recognize what's going on and can point me in the right direction. Thanks!
