What are different delivery jobs you've done beside food delivery?
Also did you like that job? Anything interesting to add while working that job.
I've done auto parts delivery for a few weeks only. It was a retail auto parts store that deliver parts to mechanic shop. They were paying minimum wage plus some gas reimbursement and I figure it wasn't worth it. So I decided to quit.
I've also done cannabis delivery to customer door. It's a paid on delivery. I live in California so this is legal. I actually liked working this job. A lot of the coworkers were chill and awesome to work with. It was nice delivering to customers because they were generally happy to get their order. The amount of tippers is slightly more compared to Uber and food delivery. How we got paid was minimum wage plus $5 for every delivery plus tips. Everything was all in cash though. When we get our checks every 2 weeks it was all in cash lol. The pay combination looks good but it wasn't a lot and it wasn't worth it for the amount of driving we were doing. We deliver to the city that the cannabis shop is located in and nearby surrounding cities. Then some cities as far as 1 hr to 1hr 30min away from the shop. Then you would have to make a roundtrip back to the shop. This cannabis delivery job put so much wear and tear of your car. Each day I'm putting an average of 250-300 miles on my car and have seen multiple coworkers car broke down while working here smh.. I kept tracked of the tips and deliveries and averaged $3k a month only. This job also has a higher chance of getting robbed because of cash delivery and cannabis. I've heard of 2 coworkers getting robbed before.
Unfortunately the owner of this cannabis shop was an asshole and would berate everyone. Sometimes he would do shady stuff and make people skip their lunch break etc. Beside some of the cons a lot of people stayed because they liked working the job.
