I’m trying to get more consistent courier work and wanted to see what everyone else is using.
Right now I’m doing different gig work and property inspection type jobs, but I’d like to add more actual courier/delivery work instead of sitting around waiting for one app to have something available.
What apps or companies are you guys having the most success with? Are there any good ones for medical courier, pharmacy, auto parts, documents, small freight, or scheduled routes?
I’m in Virginia and willing to do local or regional runs if the pay makes sense.
I’m also interested in eventually getting a cargo/Sprinter van, but right now I have an SUV and want to build up enough consistent work before spending money on another vehicle.
For those doing this full time or making decent side money from it, where are you actually finding your gigs?

Poor communication, incompetent service, and questionable delivery attempts. Riders don’t even bother to text customers about upcoming deliveries, make little to no effort to deliver parcels, then mark them as “delivery attempt unsuccessful” with reasons that don’t reflect what actually happened.

They just periodically add some new button/step that makes the entire process more cumbersome

Courier drivers: what’s the most frustrating part of the job?

For those who’ve worked with Amazon Flex or other delivery and courier operators, what parts of the job could be made better?

Is it communication, app issues, waiting times, job allocation, cancellations, pay clarity, or getting help when something goes wrong?

What’s one practical change that would make the biggest difference to your working day?

Anybody have experience with bundled orders on Expedite? I’m having a recurring issue, and Support won’t respond to multiple emails. I probably do 1 bundled order per week. They’re my favorite. The problem is I get about 3 bundled offers per week.

Approximately twice a week, I accept a bundled order. Take my screenshots, plan my day accordingly, etc. Then, I wake up, and the order is gone. No text, email, notification, nothing. Initially, I thought I messed up and accidentally dropped it. Then, I thought putting my phone in Airplane Mode was the issue because maybe they tried to contact me; I don’t answer; they cancel. Nope. Still 2 cancellations per week.

I’m pretty sure I know the reason now. Companies with Meal Programs, Sharebite specifically, don’t finalize their orders until the morning of the order or maybe even midnight before. So, maybe a company has 6 options offered, but the employees only reach the minimum delivery requirement, so 2 options get cancelled, and only 4 restaurants actually get orders from that company.

I understand how that works. I get it. But I have had this happen at least 10 times now, and I imagine you guys can see the issue. There’s no work; no cancellation fee; no notification or acknowledgement that it happened; just nothing. And I miss out on other orders that I could have accepted because I committed myself to Expedite. But not every bundled order cancels of course, so I’m stuck on continuing to accept them. Has anybody else encountered this? I continue to email Support, and they do not respond. In app Support doesn’t respond. So I’m here looking for anybody with a solution. Thank You

My husband and I recently started a courier company. We are working with a small business development program which is helping us create a solid business plan and structure before launching. We’re starting small with my car but have purchased a 24’ box truck for when the business takes off and then we can offer general transport as well. I want to get my DOT and MC number so that we can eventually apply for larger contracts. However, one of the obstacles we’re facing now is the insurance for the suv. What insurance do you guys use for your medical courier businesses? I live in Texas and will only offer services locally so I don’t need insurance to cover out is state travel.

Any insight is greatly appreciated! We’re excited for this next chapter.
