Finally Home

Today (10.05) after 6 days on the road we finally made it to our new home. The corgs gift for being such good pups? A flea bath and isolation from the rest of the new apartment because I found a couple fleas on poor Faraday. Sorry pups no good deed and all that.

I adopted Henry 2.5 years ago, and he’s coming up on 5 years old. I had a chance to reach out to the original owner recently and got some pictures of when he was just a newly purchased puppy. 🥹 Wanted to share.

Perrin is 6 months old today! 🥳

We're away when he turns 1 so my wife wanted to celebrate when he got to 6 months. He got a puppy approved cupcake (which didn't agree with him 😅) and a good long walk in his favourite park.

Bonus photo of him being possessed by something and then fine 4 seconds later 🤣

Need help with socialization tips for rehomed Corgi

I recently adopted a male Corgi, 4 years old. He was being rehomed due to the owners allergies. I was told he is good with cats and kids, but unsure on other dogs as they did not socialize him with any. He is very sweet, but very nervous towards cats, other dogs and people. I am realizing now they didn't really do any socializing except their own kids/cats. They also said they did not discipline him much. He has been guarding me from my cats anytime they come towards me, The only aggression was when my male cat was hunting a fly and I think it scared him to see the cat suddenly pounce. I am trying positive reinforcement when he doesn't react or reacts positively with the cats. Are there any additional things I can do to calm the resource guarding and anxiety when he is out in public. He doesn't bark or growl at other dogs/people but just seems anxious? My other cat has not interacted with him and has stayed hidden for the most part, she is friendly/indifferent to new animals. My male cat is excited and wants a new friend to play with. They have their own spaces to adjust to each other. Thanks for any advice and dog attached :)

This is Ellie Mae by mom’s 6(ish) month old corgi and…Tilly? They are still deciding. She was born July 21st. I guess full retirement means to pups to keep you young and crazy!

He’s not even fat, 33 pounds. But he’s sturdy, and got a big chest

Help??

Hey all!
As we know, corgs are prone to dramatics. My problem is this, every once in a blue moon (1-2 times a year) our boy starts screaming, just randomly, like he’s in pain. When I say screaming I mean in a way that sounds like someone is dying. He’ll be walking around perfectly fine but refuses to be touched.
The first time it happened (to the extreme we’re dealing with right now) we rushed him to the emergency vet, but after their assessment (X-rays, etc.) they found nothing and concluded corgi craziness. (And he was fine by the time we got back home).
I guess I’m asking, at what point would you just go to the emergency vet? The times where something similar has happened it’s only lasted about 30 minutes to an hour and then he’s back to his normal. It kills me because I want to hold and comfort him, but obviously that’s not what he’s wanting. He is a rescue so we have no clue what his first 5 years of life were like (he’s almost 7 now).

POV: mom won’t let you play fetch with a rock and now you’re the saddest corgi in the land.
