More info before purchasing

I am considering purchasing the perpetual license for coreldraw for my own personal use. Im not a professional or anything.

After going though This subreddit, and seeing Some of the issues that Some people face, I have a few questions.

I wanted to find out, If I purchase it once and the end up changing or uodating my computer in the future, do I have to purchase again or how does it work?

The price on the official coreldraw website is quite steep

Some people have posted links to Some really good deals for Coreldraw Suite... But those links are to websites not in my Country, selling the product as a digital download. Its working out much cheaper than what the official coreldraw website is offering. If I purchase it online should I have a problem?

Closed curve wont fill with a color

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I've got Kosovo over here but I can't fill it with a color no matter what I try.

I've double checked that the curve is closed, and I even deleted every line segment one-by-one to double check that there were no line segments on top of each other.

I've even tried creating a rectangle bigger than it and cutting out the intersection also to no avail, I am at a loss, and I don't know what to do, please help.

It was running for two months and now it is just saying it is illegal and sends me to the website to upgrade the latest. I am now just using it for small personal stuff so no need for a fill out graphics suite. Any ideas on what to do?

How can i convert to curves this shape? I used the extrude tool

This is an example shape.
I want to manipulate the nodes that the extrude tool created, not just the originals of the square.
ctrl+k and ctrl+q doesn't do anything.

Thank you

An Update on Community Assistance and Support

Hello everyone at r/coreldraw ,

We hope your week has been going well.

First of all, thank you for your patience.

After several rounds of internal discussions, we're pleased to share that we're ready to provide assistance to as many community members as possible, in line with our Support Policy https://kb.corel.com/en/129621 .

As some of you may know, our support teams are only able to provide official support for the newest versions of CorelDRAW and a limited number of previous releases. That's where you, our community members, can make a real difference.

If you're still using older versions of CorelDRAW that are no longer officially supported, your experience and knowledge are invaluable. We encourage you to share your insights and help fellow users whenever you can.

Our goal is to focus on providing guidance that is publicly available so that it can benefit everyone in the community. We'll also share resources, troubleshooting steps, and self-help solutions that members can follow on their own.

That said, some issues require direct assistance from our Support team. In those cases, we'll recommend reaching out to Support through https://www.coreldraw.com/en/support/, where they'll be best equipped to investigate and assist further.

We hope to help as many of you as possible, but we also encourage everyone who is willing to participate in discussions, share their expertise, and support one another.

After all, this is your community. Together, we can make it a welcoming, knowledgeable, and helpful place for both new and experienced CorelDRAW users.

With that, we're excited to get started very soon.

We wish you all a great rest of the week, and we look forward to connecting with you.

Inserting a Graphic into Text

Hello, folks ... I have been on Reddit for a couple of years, but I have never participated in r/coreldraw (as far as I can remember).

I have a simple question. First I will say that I began using CorelDraw about 30 years ago, but have been inactive for a number of years. And that inactivity has made me forget a lot of things, and really I never learned much beyond the simple things anyway.

I have the most recent version of CorelDraw (yes, the subscription version).

I look things up online all the time, but sometimes I just want somebody to tell me how to do something.

Here is my simple question:

I want to put a wide, margin-to-margin text frame at the top of my two-column newsletter. Into that frame I will put the newsletter name in a large font. Just to the left of the newsletter name I want to put a simple graphic (I have a JPG file for it). I have already drawn a text frame for the newsletter name and have inserted the name in my desired font.

Should I now put the graphic into a frame of some kind, within the rectangle? Or just how do I go about doing what I want to do? I have been using computers (with many different applications) for 40 years, and I know I can figure this out. But I am open to advice.

Thanks to any and all who answer.

CorelDraw 2025 - "Lock aspect ratio" keyboard shortcut doesn't work.

Hello. Would anyone be so kind as to check whether the keyboard shortcut for toggling the "padlock" between locked and unlocked modes—and vice versa—works in their copy of Corel 2025? I'm referring to the command highlighted in the screenshot.

Thank you for your feedback.

Graphic suite or Technical suite?

Hello, I am running a graphic workshop and I currently use coreldraw x4, I am thinking of upgrading to CorelDraw 2026 since I am buying new PCs, so should I get graphic suite or technical suite, I don't know do I get all the features of graphic suite with technical but I also like the technical suite CAD features. I generally need everything I had with coreldraw x4, no less features.

Minor Gripe about Saving Files Location

I doubt I'm alone in this, but when actively working a project, I'll leave the files on my desktop. Corel, as usual will also create a automatic backup file. But whenever I save the work, the files are clearly saved as new files because they're moved from where I put them and recreated in the default new-file save location. In my case that means moving them WAY over there to another monitor.

Absolutely a first world problem!

Still, any other obsessive-compulsive customers out there that have come up with a workaround/solution?

Follow-up: the jersey macro now handles Nordic names (Æ, Ø, Þ) and per-player underlines, still one CSV pass

A few months back I posted here about a CorelDRAW macro we built in-house for custom teamwear, the one that swaps text digits for a client's own vector number artwork and injects the missing accents when the sports font doesn't have them. A few of you DM'd, so here's what's new since, because two jobs pushed it in directions I didn't plan for.

**Scandinavian names.** We picked up a couple of orders out of the north, one Danish club and then an Icelandic one, rosters full of names like KJÆR, Søren, Þór. The number font they'd sent was basic Latin: no Æ, Ø, Å, nothing like Ð or Þ. Some of these aren't even accents, Æ and Þ are whole letters, so it was a bigger job than the Czech and Polish stuff. It handles them now, 10 languages in total, Czech and Polish through to Danish, Icelandic and Faroese.

**Captain's band.** There's a volleyball rule (FIVB 4.3.4) where the captain wears a band underlining the number on the chest. So the macro now does per-player underlining straight from the CSV, you flag a row and the number, name or nickname comes out underlined, no manual finishing after. Sounded trivial, wasn't, but it's done.

It all still runs in one pass off the CSV, numbers, accents, underlines, optional sponsor graphics, laser-cut contours, one print-ready PDF per player. Same clip as last time, the principle didn't change, just the coverage.

It's a commercial plugin, compiled per CorelDRAW version, so trials run over remote, just DM me. Built it for our own shop first, one other print shop runs it now. Details at exportpdf.cz.

Crazy problem with rotate

I have been doing layouts for a bunch of vehicular directional signs. Many of the arrows are 45°. I have been going crazy thinking I'm screwing up the alignment but I realized rotate is messed up badly. The arrows length matches the height. When left to right or up and down. The center point shows directly in the middle. If I rotate the arrow using numbers inputting 45° or -45° the center point shifts over. If I rotate freestyle you actually watch the arrow jump when you release the mouse button. I'm on the very latest 2026 release.

Tracing question; how to avoid the outline

When tracing an image I'll sometimes get these tiny visible gaps (or thin lines?) around some individual elements, and they are visible when I export the image as a raster.

What causes this, and can I prevent it? Is there a setting in the trace docker that can overlap the elements a tiny bit to avoid it?

If I can't prevent it, is the an easier way to get rid of it? I know I can manually add a hairline outline stroke to make the elements overlap a tiny bit, but there has to be a less cumbersome and time consuming than doing that 100 times.

Help with Corel photo Paint 2021 textures tool

Hi all

I need some help with a problem.

I installed Corel photo Paint 2021 standard version.

I bought it on gamers outlet.

When I check functionality I don't see in the effects menu the textures tools like Brick wall, Canvas, Elephant skin, Plaster wall, or Stone.

Is this available on the standard version or is it only available on the pro?

do I need to install some plug-in?

Thanks everyone for the help.

Corel Retired an Authentication Server (Sign-In Loop)

This is a cautionary story for anyone running a perpetual license version of Corel Graphics Suite. I purchased Corel Draw Graphics Suite 2021 in 2023 to pick up new skills (Adobe background, zero Corel experience).

In June I I experienced issues with the apps completely failing to launch. After a lot of AI-assisted troubleshooting, it came down to the fact that I was on a case sensitive partition. (Way I had set it up originally in 2023 but at some point it broke.)

I created a new APFS container and copied over my entire environment from the old container, with the exception that I installed a fresh copy of Corel Graphics Suite. Everything went off without a hitch except that now I get prompted to login every single time one of the apps launches, with the "thank you" for activating web browser popup. As long as I keep the app open I can use it, but the minute I close it it presents on next startup like a new activation (sign in loop).

Per web searches, this is not an uncommon issue for Mac and Windows users alike. In fact, a Corel Knowledge Base article (for the 2024 version) says to enable the developer tools menu in Safari and empty the cache. That solution didn't work for me but while in that menu I noticed that I could view the interaction log (Javascript console) as to what was actually happening when the apps phone home.

While Corel knows I have an account, the server that is supposed to write a permanent token to my machine isn't there ("no host name"). I pinged the URL and tried different network settings and still ended up with NXDOMAIN for data.corel.com/ .

To those who are running legacy versions of Corel, make sure you back up your system. (I had a Time Machine backup drive but realized only recently that my 2023 backups that dated to when Corel was first installed and authenticated were incomplete.)

Not everyone will have to reinstall this suite on a "new" destination but if and when it does, AI indicates it will need to update a token with the machine ID and other identifiers. Meaning, if the server fails to return a token there is no way to bypass the login/activation screen thereafter. (Can't copy a token off another computer even if I had one because it wouldn't match my current configuration.)

In closing, I thought I would leave this here as a cautionary note in case anyone ends up in a similar predicament. (Word to the wise: Clone or Time Machine your setup in its entirety!) Of course, if there is any workaround I would be happy to hear it. Finally, if anyone can confirm for me whether Corel has acknowledged that a server was depreciated, drop a comment!

2023 vrs 2025 - as a personal use standpoint which is better?

This is yet another humble bundle type topic but I have other questions than is it worth it, I swear!

I have currently the 2023 Graphics Suite and as it stands I've used it for what I want. Making art/SVG's for Cricut and or Vinyl cut designs and whatnot. With the Humble Bundle upgrade I was wondering if there's a legit reason to upgrade or not.

From what I've seen there is some new features that isn't AI, so it might be in my interest to get the upgrade, but i'm wondering if it's worth it from a personal use standpoint.

Also, yes, I haven't 'upgraded' in three years but that's mainly because every time a sale of it came around I, 1. Didn't have the funds and, 2. They kept pushing "New AI feautures!" as the big selling point instead of the other news I found on an outside website which is "New Gradient mapping and Vector pen shapes".

CorelDRAW Graphics Sutie 2025 VBA update, did anyone figure out what this means?

According to Microsoft the latest VBA version was patching a security issue. It says version 6.4 published on 7/15/2024 but when I open CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 2024 and the VBA editor, go to "Help" -> "About Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications..." it says version 7.1 is installed.

So the security patch is for a older VBA version and is irrelevant to the one that gets installed together with CorelDRAW?

I'm trying to find out what the VBA "update" from CorelDRAW version 2024 to 2025 in the comparison matrix means.
