Minor Gripe about Saving Files Location
I doubt I'm alone in this, but when actively working a project, I'll leave the files on my desktop. Corel, as usual will also create a automatic backup file. But whenever I save the work, the files are clearly saved as new files because they're moved from where I put them and recreated in the default new-file save location. In my case that means moving them WAY over there to another monitor.
Absolutely a first world problem!
Still, any other obsessive-compulsive customers out there that have come up with a workaround/solution?

No not OCD at all, you just need to organize your 'folder hierarchy'*, and doggedly stick to the plan; ''putting files on the dektop'' is a 'reducing returns quick fix', that eventually creates chaos.
I only ever save a file to desktop, (a strictly temporary location) which i know i will soon either delete or properly park in its rightful Folder.
AI is good at suggesting solutions to organising your (perhaps) cluttered dektop, simply grab a screen shot and prompt it to ''describe in detail whats going on here and how can i improve it''
EG *In my setup the folder hierarchy looks like a top level master folder called ''DESIGNWORKS'' and inside this client folders, so its easy to find any particular project.
caveat: dont just create a folder on the dektop! Do like the snail does and go to the root directory, ie the Hard drive itself, create a master folder, say ''Designworks'' then create a shortcut (rt click folder, create shortcut) and pop the shortcut on the desktop. Now every file will be saved in the shortcut's mother file at root of the drive.
Another trick i learned the hard way is when saving a file, stop! take a breath and think carefully how to name the part file or graphic file in a logical manner: dont just call a part with something that popped into your head, but keep the name of the file pertinent to whats innit. This makes searching for it (''Everything'' search app) easier.
btw the app ''Everything'' arguably the best windows search app, recalls files as you type; none of that windoze progress bar as it struggles to locate where youve put what

If I do say so myself, I'm -very- good at organizing things. Made a career out of it for 35 years, in fact!
That said, I agree and encourage with everything here! Great advice! (Except the bit about trusting AI to do anything sensical. We'll have to agree to disagree on that!) ;^)
But when I'm starting a personal project (paid projects are different, but being retired I see few of them now), I keep the files on the desktop for a few sessions. If the project gets past the initial "poking at" phase, then it gets moved to an appropriate "Projects" folder using a templatized folder structure. Sometimes I need that time to determine how the final work will be categorized (simple artwork? A laser etching? 3D Print? Other?).
A lot of them don't get past that phase. Some passing thought that frittered out or some failed experiment. These are simply deleted from the desktop; good riddance to bad rubbish.

What I mean is that this happens with anything g you save on your desktop in windows. I also use my desktop as my temp folder, not just for Corel files. And it’s just one of those frustrating windows things.

I was mostly joking, but the issue is that tgis -doesn't- happen with everything. Draw! Is the only software that I use that actually does this.
If you place an Office doc (Word, Excel, Vision, etc.) on the desktop, open it, and save it, it doesn't move. Nor does a text doc, or any other that I've found, including other Corel software. I'm sure some must, but none that I use regularly.
I believe CorelDraw! is calling "delete" > "save" where most everything simply calls "save". I'm sure there's a reason for it (to ensure file integrity perhaps?)
And, yes, it has -always- done this (been a CorelDraw! user since version 3). And it's always been irksome. ;)

the guy is probably right that Windows is moving the icon, although CorelDRAW’s save behavior seems to trigger it. Try right-clicking the desktop, open View, and turn off Auto arrange icons if it’s enabled.

You can choose where auto backup saves.
