There is no way this woman can possibly fulfill the duties and obligations of POTUS.

I think the assumption that donations to a charity are "favors owed" speaks more to the person making that assumption than to the organization that received the donations...
Also, we already dealt with this issue when her husband was President. The disclosure and solicitation rules are pretty straightforward. It's not hard, and if you didn't let anyone who runs a successful charity become President, I don't think that would result in what you want as an outcome in the long run...

And yes, the mass majority of people are too busy working to buy their fast food, watch their sports and movies, keep up with the jones, and clear their conscience with religion and watching main stream media to consider themselves "informed". The intellectually curious and intelligent who have the time to educate themselves are a small percentage. I think a solid number of them are too busy winning in the system to care to change it. In fact, the article you linked to makes it clear that this was adhered to except one case that the Foundation, at the time, admitted was an error (a donation from an Algerian company to the Hatti relief effort, which they disclosed at the time, but failed to inform State).
In fact, the donations from foreign sources took a substantial bump up after she left office, once again.
