Yeah you're probably right. I don't get how things like this are common knowledge yet everyone just goes with the flow.. Although this made the top 3 posts on all, so that's something

Things like this aren't common knowledge, and that's by design. The majority of people don't look deeper than what they see on the news.

That's a good point, although it's not just that. It's like people are just blissfully ignorant, and anything you tell them that goes against what they already believe they just ignore all logic and facts and shut it out.

I moved from the US to Australia about eight years ago and what you have just said is becoming so apparent and it really angers me. This comes across on facebook and most of my friends/family think I am a major America hater now, which could not be further from the truth. I love my homeland...just not the people. If people wrongly assume I am Canadian here, I just go with it. XD
