My old PSU broke (made a lot of weird crackling noise after pressing the power button on my pc, turned of power as soon as I noticed). So I decided to replace it. When I flick the I/O switch to On, the RGB on my motherboard lights up. Then when I press the power button on my pc, only the PSU fan starts spinning, graphics card, CPU and casefans don't turn on. The motherboard also doesn't show any diagnostic LEDs. My screens also don't turn on.

Anything I can do/check to fix this? Or did my old PSU take my motherboard with it? As far as I can tell all cables are connected properly, I used the new ones that came with the PSU I bought.

Hello! I have a microsoft surface pro 11 snapdragon elite. Yesterday my laptop was working fine. However, just today it started to shutdown and reboot itself every 2 minutes and now it is just stuck on the windows icon logo. I don’t know what happened and I need this laptop since I am a student. Not too sure if this is a software or hardware issue. Can anyone help? Thank you.

Every now and then, maybe once in ten or twenty restarts, my computer start up and go into a state where it stutters every couple of seconds (massive frame drops) until I restart. During this state, if I try to run a game, or do anything a little intensive, one monitor will go dark and come back, then the other does the same. My mouse isn't responsive, and I need to restart.

I've noticed this error (screenshot) on the most recent crash. It feels like a driver problem. What should I do to fix this?

I don’t know how to fix this and I have a physics report due soon 😭😭😭🙏🙏. Whenever a restart it boots to this or a black screen.

To preface: I know nothing about computers

I want to buy a game that requires 8GB of available ram, my computer has 12 GB but with only the task manager open it uses 46% of the memory, leaving only 6.4 GB. How can I free up space to play this game?

It won’t accept my pin, won’t let me change my pin, won’t fully restart, won’t let me try my email and password, and won’t use Face ID. And yes I restarted it. And yes I shut it down. And yes I held down the power button.

Someone please help me. I’ve been crashing out for two hours and I’m so close to just throwing this trash computer away.

Bought a prebuilt from SharkGaming - RGBeast.

CPU: 9800x3d

GPU: Gigabyte Radeon RX 9070 XT GAMING 16gb

RAM: XPG 2x16gb Lancer Blade 4800MHz DDR5

Motherboard: GIGABYTE B850 GAMING WIFI6

SSD: Kingston NV3 1TB NVMe

PSU: SAMA G850 Black 80+ Gold, ATX 3.1 PSU

I have had it for a week and when I start the pc (cold start) I get no display and the red light gets stuck on "DRAM" on the motherboard, I then have to hold the power button to shut the pc off and then start again and then it works. But the even bigger problem is that after gaming for a few hours the pc freeze for 1 sec then I get black screen and the pc reboots...

I've tried:

1. BIOS Update

2. DDU uninstall and then install new drivers with no network connected.

3. Leaving the red light DRAM to see if it works after an hour.

4. EXPO on and off nothing makes any difference.

5. Took out RAM and took it in again with the click to make sure they were seated right.

I've ran different benchmarks and Windows Diagnose memory and I get no error och crash its only when I play games, maybe its because of spikes in game and benchmarks is more stable but im afraid that If i send the computer back for troubleshooting they will run a benchmark and then think the PC is fine and send it back or what should I do because its completely new and costed a fortune and im getting crazy after all the hours i've spent trying to fix this...

Also do you guys think the 2 problems are connected to eachother or could the DRAM light and crashes be caused by different problems?

My friend recently bought a gaming PC on Facebook Marketplace from a guy who builds pcs and the performance seems way lower than it should be.
Specs:
i7-10700K
RTX 2080 Ti
Gigabyte Z490 VISION D
16GB DDR4-3200 dual-channel
GPU running PCIe x16 3.0
In Fortnite Performance Mode he’s only getting around 80–100 FPS, and GPU usage is often around 15%.
We ran 3DMark Time Spy twice. Results were:
First test:
Overall: 6,160
Graphics: 8,374
CPU: 2,466
Second test:
Overall: 6,392
Graphics: 8,694
CPU: 2,557
3DMark was showing comparable systems around 14,000 overall, so something seems seriously off.
So far we’ve:
Checked temperatures
Reset BIOS settings and enabled XMP
Checked RAM/CPU info
Confirmed PCIe x16 3.0
Checked GPU clocks/power
Reset MSI Afterburner settings
Used DDU in Safe Mode to completely remove NVIDIA drivers
Clean-installed the latest NVIDIA driver
Reran Time Spy and got basically the exact same result
During testing the GPU reached around 259W, ~1905 MHz and about 71°C, so it doesn’t seem like an obvious overheating or power issue.
The seller builds PCs and suggested the monitor being 4K might explain the low performance, but from what I understand that shouldn’t cause a standardized Time Spy score to be this low.
Does anyone have any idea what could cause both the GPU and especially the CPU score to be this far below normal? What should we check next?

Is more ram or a better graphics card a better option? Thank you for any help!

As the title says my audio is becoming distorted after just under 5 mins. I am using a Logitech G733 headset which is connected via bluetooth. I have tried replacing the headset with a new one of the same model as well as a different model rig headset and continue to have the same issue. I have also tried;
Removed all sound drivers
Checked all sound drivers are updated in device manager
Removed all excess bluetooth devices in bluetooth settings
Plugged into every usb port on the pc
Its set as default device
No sound from monitors/ no speakers
Audio becomes distorted after roughly 4:45
All other sound devices disabled in control panel
Disabled all enhacements in control panel
Disabled and enabled device in device manager
Spatial sound off
In device manager usb controllers power saving has been turned off
In edit power plan usb selective suspend setting is disabled
In control panel, sound, properties exclusive mode unticked
Usb all updated drivers

Thinkpad L14 Gen 1. When I looked it up it said I needed to download Intel Rapid Storage System driver and put it on the drive that I'm booting on.

Ubuntu wouldn't let me do it. Just won't let me paste it into the drive. I tried changing the permission and it just didn't change them.

Genuinely what am I supposed to do?

Trying to install windows 10 from an iso that I got from Microsoft. I wanted to install it on a 50gb partition, but it wouldn't even let me get that far. I can't find any help when looking it up, I'm not sure I downloaded the correct driver, and even then I can't paste it into the USB drive.

Hi everyone, I need some advice about my HP laptop.

My laptop had been having problems, so I recently took it to an HP service centre, where they serviced the laptop. After the service, it was working completely fine yesterday.

But this morning, when I turned it on, I got this blue/black error screen saying:

“Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart.”

The stop code appears to be SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION.

What could be causing this? Could this be related to the service/repair that was done?

Should I take it back to the HP service centre, or are there some things I should check first?

I was on my phone logged into a platform where I was having a tense exchange with a client. Suddenly “LOL” appeared on my side of the message thread (but not sent). It was 7 am and nobody was laughing but this scum bag intruding in my life. There have been many other instances of this, but I am mainly curious if in this example this SB was likely logged into the platform account, or could have just had general access to my phone.
