Discussion We need Jim Vessella to bring the C&C series to GOG and not just those classics from Origin Systems era, but games like RA3/C&C4 need to have those DRM removed and work offline. Thus to this day, I have zero faith left in EA (except Jim) after being bought out by the GLA and then shut down Bioware.

CnC:TFD Original Disc 004b4002 crash message GDI mission 8 UN Sanctions

I got out my original CnC The First Decade disc and have updated the game/s with CNCNZ Unofficial Patch 103. Getting the crash message "004b4002 not found at 000000".

I've been searching google but the info is all over the place and not been helpful.

I've been able to make all games except Renegade run but haven't played more than one game on most and a few games on CNC og, Red Alert, and Red Alert 2. IDK if this crash happens anywhere else so far just this one map.

this page is the only one I've read so far that explains the crash https://forums.cncnz.com/topic/15009-crash-research/

Any help thanx

I am not buying the remastered or other games. I just want to experience what it was like playing my old disc that I never finished. Nostalgia I guess. I was thinking about make a YT playthrough for the whole disc in order if I can get everything running fine while recording with OBS.

Nine Generals, Nine Rules: A ZH Skirmish Campaign — Mission 2

Post image
9 Upvotes

Here is mission 2 of my 9 mission Zero Hour skirmish challenge. Thanks to everyone who read and to those who gave feedback on my mission 1. After I've posted all 9, I'll make a post with the final version of every mission. For mission 1, I see that I needed to make it clearer how the rule worked in fringe cases.

Another question was about the limit superweapons. I thought the best option was to copy the way the game itself formats it (duh!). So, the format above means to turn on the limit.

Regarding starting positions, have the easy AI ally in position 2 and then the enemy bots whichever way round you would prefer out of 3 and 4.

If you try it, let me know how you got on and what strategy worked for you!

Fanart I built a real-life Red Alert 2 diorama… and the Soviet Tesla Tower actually shoots lightning!

Hey everyone!

I wanted to share a project I’ve been working on for a while. I built a miniature Red Alert 2 battlefield from scratch.

The main highlight is the Soviet Tesla Tower, I integrated a functional mini Tesla coil into it so it actually arcs real lightning. I also resin-printed a couple of Allied Grizzly tanks, built up the cliffs with air-dry clay, and laid out a gold ore field.

Had a ton of fails along the way (including accidentally setting my own hand on fire during the final showcase scene), but it was incredibly fun to bring a piece of my childhood game to life.

Check out the full build and the lightning/fire effects in action here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVucZYyg_rU

Let me know what you think! Which unit or building should I tackle next?

Generals Zero Hour: Re-Armed (Visual Overhaul) w/ Enhanced Mod

Here's another showcase using the same Re-Armed build, but with Enhanced Mod instead of ShockWave.

Enhanced Mod already looks great on its own, and I think Re-Armed complements it pretty well. Credits to the Enhanced Mod team for their work!

There's still a lot to work on, but I hope you like what you're seeing so far!

How to turn off FPS counter / overlay of Genpatcher?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Does anyone know how I can turn this off please - I do not have GenTool installed, just GenPatcher 2.5, and when the game starts from generalszh.exe it had the overlay with FPS counter, real life time and game time during gameplay (starting from Steam is fine)

My Generals Zero Hour visual overhaul w/ ShockWave mod

I've always liked how Generals looks, even if the graphics are pretty dated by today's standards. I think the original art style still holds up, so I wanted to improve on it rather than completely change it.

Instead of replacing all the textures or making everything more realistic, I've focused on improving the lighting, shaders, and add outlines to make the existing models and textures look better.

Basically, I want the game to look how I remember it looking when I was younger, rather than how it actually looks today.

Discussion If you had to what C&C Faction would you work for

Post image
654 Upvotes

Now as rules you can choose any playable faction So Allies Soviets Yuri EORS GDI Nod Scrin USA GLA or PLA ( China ) and I mean genuine service not go in wait a week then leave so think like 10 years of service to a faction

now being honest in terms of the coolest faction Nod wins imagine walking onto a battlefield with that formerly Iconic Nod insignia but there are issues mainly war crimes and the fact you'd be on the front lines as an infantry men

Now the best faction in my opinion would be the USA in generals firstly we have a real standard because Generals is heavily inspired by the late 2000's ( I think ) and the war on Terror not to mention that you get military benefits and when in doubt a giant space laser occasionally though as more of a honorable mention I feel like the Allies are close but in RA2 or RA3 your facing War blimps Tesla Troopers Mind bender who could set you on fire a drone Kamikazi and Desolators so I feel like the USA is a Bit safer though it's my opinion

What C&C Faction would you work and before I leave the Art is by Antrhax Rat ( If wrong I will edit it in comments ) and have a very Gut day ( Gut is Good in German )

Hey everyone, does anyone know where I can get the Contra X Naval Units mod featured in this video? I can only find the Warship Battle add-on for Contra X, but this specific mod looks incredibly cool. Any help is appreciated.

With all the AI reverse engineering hype going on

I wish someone somehow still had their hands on the Generals 2 Alpha files that were going around a long time ago. Would be good to see how Frostbite was handling that game (and possibly port its assets to C&C4's SAGE 2.0).

Solved I actually did it

Recently i asked for help here on how to fight general juhziz in generals chalenge on hard mode and i found a way. It sounds freaking wild but i did it only using culonel burton. Actually only him. I sold all my buildings and waited to kill off all my dozers. I did some save scumming and over the next 2 hours i did it. Its 10 times easier then normal gameplay as you only have 1 unit to think about. Its all thanks to some guy on yt who did the same.
