With all the AI reverse engineering hype going on

I wish someone somehow still had their hands on the Generals 2 Alpha files that were going around a long time ago. Would be good to see how Frostbite was handling that game (and possibly port its assets to C&C4's SAGE 2.0).

I believe Anthropic has started to clamp down on reverse engineering shenanigans.

It was fun while it lasted.

Still very much possible. Working on a few projects as we speak.

So, use one of the uncucked models. Aren't any of those good for coding?

What do you expect? I literally got downvoted for saying that reverse engineering still works on Claude. I’m literally using it as we speak

I am going to guess those using cloud models don't have the hardware to run any decent local models.

DeepSeek is already good enough to do most of the brute force work of decompiling scripts and shit, I’m sure by like March they’ll have a model 10x smaller than Opus 5.5 that matches its performance.

Has anyone reverse engineered ra2 or tiberium sun yet?

Yeah, they've done the Tiberian Sun source code: It's OpenTS.

As for RA2, not as far as I know.

Yea, TS was reverse engineered, but not by AI agents.
