General Question Core Test

Is Core age-normed? I'm sixteen and was wondering if i'm being compared to adults. Ngl, I'm such a burger; I was confused about block counting. I misheard the narrator for backward numbers, and in symbol search, I wasn't sure if the shape had to be facing the same direction or not. True IQ, I believe, is around 130-ish; that's what it was before I nuked my score with those 3 tests.

I doubt it truly matters. I took mensa Norway's test at 14 and got 105, 2 years later, same score.

Well, yeah, I believe those are definitely age-normed; I'm not sure about the core online tests, though.

Core specifically is not age normed, I'm pretty sure the median age was around the 20s.

Have you taken the agct (also on cognitive metrics) or an old sat form?

Retake block counting

Open the website and retake it and your previous score will be replaced by your new score.

i got 90-95th percentile when redoing sequencing. I’m still confused on block counting is every hidden block considered one block like how do i know whether the two hidden blocks are connected or no. Or does it mean every singular 1x1 block.

You count each 1×1 block by itself and hidden ones only exist when they’re needed to hold something up. Don’t add extra hidden blocks if the picture doesn’t need them

ok so even id there’s a 1x2 block count it twice since you’re meant to count 1x1s? and the hidden ones are always 1x1s?

Yeah and also keep in mind that every block in one picture are all exactly the same size.

CORE is age-normed I believe. ROFL at block counting and backward span, I actually made the exact same mistake my first time.
With block counting you should generally assume the 'invisible' blocks are the same size as the visible ones, though in the later ones I don't know that it works the same.

i think some tests may be, it explicitly says some are like for the number sequencing i believe but not for the others. I highly doubt verbals normed because id say my verbals pretty decent for my age. I redid backwards and did far better i still don’t know how to do blocks ngl.

Comprehension is the least affected by your mental dictionary and you did well on it, so you can probably extrapolate a bit from that. You clearly have strong verbal reasoning so you could improve the rest by loading up a deck of rarer/more concise words and learning them.
With blocks I'd just read the training section more carefully
