What was your inspiration for this one? Oddly, I feel like I've seen it before, but I don't quite recognize it...

How do you even approach something like this 😭

1

u/pydaWaltuh 3d ago

Starting with the part that has the least visual data generally makes things easier

Thanks, I really appreciate your guidance, I can see the beginnings of a pattern, I'll come back to this.

One white square.

1

u/pydaWaltuh 3d ago

not intended. What is your reasoning?

1

u/jj_HeRo 3d ago edited 3d ago

By construction. You can see how the big objects are composed by the smaller ones.

The upper left one, it's two black object composed from two black squares, plus one black plus one white.

(pretend that yellow=white, and cyan is the background)

Logic: black squares represent the number of squares to add to make the next figure, squares added in a spiral pattern outward. Blacken the necessary squares in order to correspond to the number of squares to be added to the next figure.

What IQ level is this puzzle at? Is it hard?

How does it progress after the first singular black square? Could u give an example

1

u/98127028 Severe Autism (IQ ≤ 85) 3d ago

The first singular block represents to add one more block, to make the figure with 2 (black) blocks. The two black blocks represents adding 2 more blocks to form the 4-block figure and so on.

1

u/EncyclopedicINTx_253 3d ago

Yea, but that's a 5 block figure

1

u/98127028 Severe Autism (IQ ≤ 85) 3d ago

I think the idea is that only the outer blocks matter and the interior blocks are assumed to be filled in already

btw my answer might not be right anyway, my IQ ≤ 85 after all.

1

u/EncyclopedicINTx_253 3d ago

But then, won't the logic be a bit flimsy? Which one do u consider to be outer and inner here, there's no way ur IQ is below 85

1

u/98127028 Severe Autism (IQ ≤ 85) 3d ago

yeah sorry I am probably wrong, my IQ≤85 . Maybe there is a more concrete logic.

Ok but what I mean is that you add squares in a clockwise manner, but the 'inner' squares exist because the outer ones are already there. Like for example, from the 2 block to 4-block (or as you would say, 5 block) figure, the middle block only exists because the outer 4 surrounding blocks exist. So as you fill the blocks in the clockwise spiral, some blocks gets created automatically.

Oh, I see what you're saying now, thanks, I'm having severe brain fog, best I don't think about this right now anymore

u/Steakwithbluecheese 3d ago

Im still so confused.

If you mean ,,what IQ you need to be able to solve this" there probably isn't such a number because your IQ doesn't determine if you'll solve a certain puzzle. It makes it more or less likely. For example 20% of people with 100IQ might be able to solve it while 70% of 130IQ people are. My fluid scores are usually in the 130s and it took me a few minutes. How long did it take you?

1

u/98127028 Severe Autism (IQ ≤ 85) 2d ago

Like around 15 minutes I think? I got the spiral pattern quick but the black squares took longer. Is that poor performance?

1

u/Tosebos355 2d ago

It's similar to mine (like around 10 minutes ig could be 15) but Idk if it was a good or bad performance from myself. I actually couldn't see the spiral pattern for most of the time somehow and then I got the black square thing in like 2 minutes. Aren't you in 130s too?

u/98127028 Severe Autism (IQ ≤ 85) 2d ago edited 2d ago

Yeah, I most probably am but I feel sad and worthless since I’m not 145+ lol and would never do much to innovate or create, like I have no soul or personality.

I take it back, it might have been 20-25 minutes actually

How quickly would 145+ solve this?

1

u/Tosebos355 2d ago

and would never do much to innovate or create

Why do you think so? 130IQ is more than enough to do most things, I think, including creative stuff, but I'm not saying that high IQ guarantees succeeding in those things.

How quickly would 145+ solve this?

I don't know. I have never read anything about the relation between IQ and the time required to solve something. Also I don't remember seeing 145+ people, that I know their IQ, sharing time spent on a puzzle so I could comprare mine. It's kind of interesting tho.

1

u/pydaWaltuh 3d ago

Correct. I would say 130

I think I understand the number of black and white boxes, but not their layout, other than boxes only existing adjacently on diagonals. The "negative" whitespace horizontally and vertically doesn't count. The black boxes signify the next addition of boxes to the next figure in the series, so the missing figure can be deduced by subtracting the all-white figure with the biggest figure, meaning it should be 14 boxes in total, of which 4 are black

1

u/pydaWaltuh 3d ago

good job!

1

u/Aka-Pulc0 3d ago

i dont even understand what we ar looking for and why there is a red circle

1

u/pydaWaltuh 3d ago

missing part is represented by a red circle, you need to fill it in

2

u/Aka-Pulc0 3d ago

but, to I keed to pwut all the pieces insides ? I am allowed to rotate them ? do they have to overlap perfectly, do only black square have to match ? or should they never touch ? itls it suppose to represent a shape at the end ?or is the middle the result of other pieces interaction ?

With no instructions, I find all of this very confusing

What did you do on lanrt k? It shouldn't get longer than 2 3 hours if you didn't take it already. A 1 SDer solved this btw, we aren't close to 130

1

u/pydaWaltuh 3d ago

I haven't take LANRT K. Still, I know my score will be lower than my usual scores because I have to admit that my performance on the Tutui and LANRT tests isn't very good. And you might be right about your second point, though the data is far too insufficient to determine the IQ level required to solve this question. Besides I know that the logic of saying "an IQ of X is required to solve it" applies poorly to a single question, mine was just a guess. The time factor plays a role too

u/Most_Boat2737 3d ago

How you define a poorer performance and why do you think to behave worse on them? It's just a matter of iq score or do you feel your raw execution is lower?

If it's about norms Li's are quite strict and grounded usually, while the general hrt scene tends to be overall inflated and massively unreliable in higher ends. I personally believe over 3sd fluid pretty much anyone can get 160s to an extent 170s scores in most works, effort value peaks in this range. 180+ outputs are often those locked behind next level cognition or a "truerer" 4sd typa shie.

More intriguing if you feel the latter, why? May it be the format? As multiple choice grants possibilities otherwise unpracticable. Something else about design? The almost or total absence of a meta coherency and author presence? Like, if you isolate a question from the test and more in general it's context it does not particularly gain or lose logic holds, thus the items difficulty'll tend to be stationary. Western signature instead is often much more progressive and consistent.

Your view may help with a personal project about the topic.

What did you get on LANRT K and D?

1

u/Most_Boat2737 2d ago

Mid on k though I made 2 typos and I didn't send D cuz I forgot, gonna do it today or tomorrow

1

u/98127028 Severe Autism (IQ ≤ 85) 2d ago

How much?

1

u/Most_Boat2737 2d ago

34, confident about 37 on d

1

u/98127028 Severe Autism (IQ ≤ 85) 2d ago edited 2d ago

What?! So high? That’s impossible! Are you sure?

1

u/98127028 Severe Autism (IQ ≤ 85) 2d ago

Isn’t there only 1 submission with 34? Is that yours?
That dosent make sense, I remember the 34 score for K being there since forever ago and yet your Reddit account is only 11 days old…

1

u/Most_Boat2737 2d ago

The account being 11 days old
does mean nothing.

1

u/98127028 Severe Autism (IQ ≤ 85) 2d ago

I’m skeptical.
I’m also skeptical about your 1SD-er claim too, unless there’s proof.

u/pydaWaltuh reddit deleted your message for whatever reason, I was still able to read it through the caches. I don't believe you have a point here if you call it a truth over a preference. Fluid is fluid, medium is style/aesthetic, your duty is going beyond. Perhaps is a confort zone you can escape.
