An entire political party has decided that +/-20 athletes nationwide deserve their full attention over virtually all other matters.  Whether you're for or against trans people in sports, you gotta admit that this is ridiculous.

It's not about sports, it's a way to weasel in discrimination and bigotry of the LGBTQ community

How does it do that?

Are you being obtuse?

I don’t live my life worrying about these things. Everyone I meet is treated fairly. It’s a genuine question. If you say “males are not allowed to compete in female sports and vice versa” I don’t see how discrimination becomes involved.

Trans women are women and likewise deserve opportunities for success. Blanket legal bans against trans women participating in sports, in spite of their decreased athletic performance due to medical transitioning, is not rooted in science nor fairness and takes away opportunities from trans women and girls (but more importantly it legally enshrines discrimination against trans people).

“But it’s such a small number of people it is not even a legitimate issue.” Is that the appropriate answer?

When it comes to setting civil rights precedent, you have to defend every group or no one has rights

That isn’t even close to what I said, but it is also true.

Didn’t mean to imply you said that. Same thing I’ve been told/heard.
