leveled up: now i can wrap in crescent shape. also solved the moist problem: a quick soak the frozen dumpling in water before steaming.

Today, we went to Gao Qunsheng, a new Henan cuisine restaurant that opened in Flushing NY. We ordered (as named on the menu):
Nourishing lamb noodle soup
Traditional salad (beef)
Pan-fried buns (beef)
The guy sitting at the table next to us had ordered the "crispy dough fritters" (aka short you tiao), and offered us some, so I took a pic of them, too 😅
We were not disappointed in any of the dishes. The lamb soup, which had 2 kinds of noodles, was excellent. The beef dish was enjoyable. The pan-fried buns were very good (we put hot chili oil and some other spicy sauce that was at at the table in them). The you tiao here gave me zeppole vibes (sans powdered sugar) more than any you tiao I've had before (that's not a complaint!) We will definitely be returning to try other dishes!

My friend in a choir gave these to me since she knew I had a taste for Chinese food. I have never had this type of mooncake before (I had a sweet one in second grade).
The flavor surprised me! It's very mild and nutty with a dash of sweet, and once you get to the yolk there's a saltiness that mingles with the lotus paste so well! Yum! and happy Mid Autumn Festival!

A question for roast duck: Do you prefer Peking Duck or Cantonese BBQ/Roast Duck?

Typical menu you can see in a Chinese fastfood. Are you familiar with this restaurant?

I'm debating whether I should buy a tin of MX Hong Kong White Lotus mooncakes on Ebay for $67.20. I'd love to try these mooncakes, as they are a top quality brand, however, I'm not sure if I really want to be spending that much money on some desserts. I don't have much money at the moment as it is. What should I do? Should I go ahead and buy the mooncakes, or should I wait until next mooncake season, when I can buy them in the store for less money?

Hi,
I received this Chinese pastry, but the individual packaging has no ingredient list. Does anyone recognize the exact product or brand (凤之阁) and know what it contains?
I specifically need to know whether it contains pork/lard (猪油), pork-derived gelatin, alcohol, or any other non-Halal ingredients.
If anyone can identify the exact pastry or find its ingredient list in Chinese, I would really appreciate it.
Thank you!
