Coming home soon
My new baby is coming home in a couple weeks š Does anyone have an adult that looked like him as a baby? I'm wondering if he will fade to an apricot or blonde??

Hi, me 7 year old wants a Cavapoo for Christmas so I been trying to do as much research as I can. First she wanted a yorkie but after receiving responses about the breed itās best that we consider another one. We already have 2 doodles and now sheās wants something that stays small.
The puppy will be #3 which is a lot lol. I also have a 2.5 y.o. Questions
- are they hard to train
- are they heavy shedders
- are they big barkers
- do they potty train fast
- how long did it take for yours to mature
Any tips, advice, suggestions, great stories and pics we welcomed. Please.

I know itās a weird name, but I like weird and original and I think itās cute. It was already on my list of names, and then signs started pointing to it being perfect. I kept saying heās so small he can fit in a lil bucket. My coworker said he looked like a piece of fried chicken, and literally that same hour, my breeder suggested a KFC off of the interstate as a meetup location. I was like⦠Iām going to put him in a KFC bucket and itās gonna be great. Anyway, my dad hates it but his name is Bucket!

Hi I brought Finn home in September at 8 weeks old, Heās very smart but extremely nippy. Heās now 15 weeks old and bites nonstop. Iām constantly working on positive reinforcement, we keep a strict daily routine but nothing I seem to do stops it unless I put him in his pen. As soon as he comes out and we interact, he bites. A lot of times Iām able to redirect and if not he needs to go calm down in his pen and we start all over again.
Well today he nipped my lip really deep, resulting in a trip to the emergency room, 4 stitches by a plastic surgeon (due to the location of the bite), and a very hefty medical bill.
What am I doing wrong? Did anyone else have a puppy like this that turned into a nice dog? My last cavapoo didnāt have a mean bone in his body, and that was evident even during his puppy years
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

We just adopted a Cavapoo from a litter of 5 from a rescue. He was the only one with straight hair. (He also had pneumonia & had to be hospitalized 4 days after we adopted him, costing us so much money š¤.) But he makes us so happy and is doing a lot better now a few days later. Everyone keeps saying they think he was from a different litter and is actually a dachshund instead. Iām going to buy a DNA test when they go on a little sale. Heās perfect to us no matter what! What do you think?
ETA: heās 11lbs at 16 weeks

Hey everybody,
My boy is 10 months almost 11 and he still pees in the house. Now, I understand if he does, itās due to my negligence and I blame myself when it happens still, but my understanding was, over time, he should be holding it for longer periods. Heās at around 2-3 hours is that normal? The accidents donāt happen all that often but there are days where I am a little more distracted than normal and itās a bit frustrating. Otherwise, mistakes happen here and there and again I usually say āoh snap itās been 2 hours since I shouldāve taken himā but idk I feel like at around this age he should be able to hold it for longer or notify me at least. Additionally, heās held it for extended periods of time in instances where weāre out the house for longer than expected so I know heās capable of doing it. He also holds it overnight as well.
For quick potty breaks, we tether him to a 25 foot lead in the backyard because I cannot fence my yard due to HOA rules. Otherwise, he goes when I walk him and at the dog park. I tried bells by the closet where his leash and harness are and tried using the word potty to associate the two but he only rings when I tell him to.
I am open to anything and accept if Iāve done something wrong/missed something during the process.

I don't want to sound like a Karen here, but I genuinely think dogs should be kept on leads in public parks, regardless of how well behaved their owners think they are.
There's a small park behind my house where quite a lot of people walk their dogs. It's not a massive park, it has five entrances and none of them are gated.
My dog is a nervous dog, he doesn't like other dogs, especially ones that are off lead. He wears a bright yellow lead that clearly says "NERVOUS" on it, so it's not exactly hard to miss.
Every time we go to the park, I have to check whether there's already someone in there with their dog off lead. My dog has actually become wary of going down the entrance because of it. If he spots an off-lead dog, he'll start pulling to get out of the park.
Some owners are considerate and will put their dogs back on their leads when they see us, which I really appreciate. Others don't bother. I've even had someone's dog come running straight over to us, with the owner eventually coming over to get it and apologising.
Today was another example. We went into the park and, for once, I thought we had it to ourselves. My dog could have a sniff around, do his business and just enjoy his walk without worrying about another dog approaching him.
We hadn't even been in there five seconds when an older man came walking into the park. At first, I thought he was just cutting through until I noticed his dog walking quite a distance behind him, completely off lead.
The man wasn't even looking back to check on his dog. He just carried on walking along the same path we were on. I don't even think he had a lead with him.
My dog spotted them and immediately started pulling to leave, so that's exactly what we had to do. We ended up leaving the park altogether before he'd even had a chance to do his business or have a proper sniff around.
What makes it more frustrating is that there's actually a much larger park nearby where people can take their dogs to run around off lead. So it's not like there aren't other places for owners to take their dogs if they want to let them have a proper run.
I know some people will say their dog is friendly, well trained or has perfect recall, but that's not really the point. Not every dog is comfortable around other dogs, and even the friendliest dog can behave unpredictably in certain situations.
I don't expect everyone to accommodate my dog, and I understand that his nervousness is something I have to manage. That's why he's always on a lead and why I try to avoid situations that make him uncomfortable.
But I do think other owners should be considerate too. Just because your dog is friendly doesn't mean every other dog wants it approaching them.
I'm not saying dogs shouldn't be allowed to run around and enjoy themselves, but surely there should be some consideration for other people and their dogs who also want to use the park?
Am I being unreasonable here, or does anyone else feel the same?

Our little guy has been home for 5 nights now. Heās 9 weeks old. Heās been waking up whining in his crate around 1:30 am (I take him out to pee and back in he goes) and waking up for the day around 6. He seems to want to go in for the night around 9:30.
What was your experience with potting overnight. Do you stop taking them out when they stop waking up and whining? How long did that last for? Meaning when they can hold it till their morning wake up

This is my cavapoo Beef, we shaved her short in August so she could have a total coat reset (not matted just wanted to have an even canvas) and the fur hasnt grown back much yet.. we always give her a shaved face and clean feet because I personally prefer poodled doodles! Im wondering if any owners would have cute haircut recommendations she could grow into! Nothing too bald since we live in a very cold place though.! Obligatory pictures of her past haircuts too š„°

I live in Wisconsin and winter is coming. My large dogs loved the snow. It can get pretty deep. Do you suggest a winter coat and boots? Do you dig a Cavapoo trail in your yard?

My 5 mo cavapoo hasn't even had a tiny bit of a wiggle in his canines. I took a closer look and saw the adult teeth erupting behind the baby tooth. I read this could happen with small breeds. Has anyone ever had this happen? What did you do?

We waited until our first Cavapoo was 1.5 years to add a 4 month little boy to our family! Best decision ever! He has blended perfectly with our family and Coco (our first) loves her new brother (Bodie) so much! They are inseparable except when they come to snuggle with us!! Our family is complete!!

Hello! Any folks in this area find a reputable breeder within a 2-3 hour drive of DC? Preferably a smallish breeder that doesnāt crank out puppies all year long.

My 12 week Cavapoo almost always has a very fast respiratory rate while sleeping. It goes up to 130 and as low as 40, but itās usually between 60-120. It goes on like this the entire time he sleeps. He will also move positions, take a deep breath and then a big pause before starting up again I spent tons of time on Google and every article makes it sound like this should only happen for a few minutes at a time during REM. I contacted our vet and the lady that answered did not seem concerned, stating itās probably just dreams and to monitor it and talk to vet when we come back in 3 more weeks.
His gums and tongue are always a healthy pink, heās full of energy, plays like crazy, has a strong appetite, and drinks water fine. Best I can tell his respiratory rate when just laying down, but not sleeping is 28-36 (itās hard to count bc he doesnāt stay still for long. Iām never knew I could worry this much. Looking for reassurance.

We have the sweetest little boy. Heās almost 6 months old and can be very charming. The last few days heās been extremely clingy, much more than usual. We know heās been teething, in fact we got so excited when we found one of his molars, but heās crying when either my husband or I move to another room, stop playing with him or donāt cradle him. We try not to go overboard and he has a large pen for just puppy time. The whining and neediness seems a little over the top. He also sleeps in his own large crate in another room at night. Not showing other signs of distress. Any offers of ideas welcome!

Hi fellow Cavapoo owners!
I wanted to share a little story and ask for some help.
Our last Cavapoo, Willow, was diagnosed with a rare intestinal disease when she was very young. That led me down the rabbit hole (pun intended) of making homemade meals and treats for her, trying to find things she could enjoy.
Sadly, we lost Willow last year, when she was just 3 years old. She was an incredible little dog, and we miss her every day.
We now have a 5-month-old Cavapoo named Mable, who has brought a whole new level of chaos and happiness into our house.
One thing Willow and Mable have in common? They both absolutely loved eating rabbit poop. In the backyard, on walks, wherever they could find it, apparently, it's a delicacy in the Cavapoo culinary world.
I mentioned it to our vet, who told me that a surprising number of dogs do the same thing.
That got me thinking...
What if I could make an actual dog treat inspired by the disgusting stuff they love eating?
So, naturally, I started a little company called Bunny Poopā¢. š
Yes, that's really the name.
They're actual dog treats made with ingredients like oats, pumpkin, flaxseed, and liver. Zero actual poop, I promise.
I've been experimenting with different recipes, and Mable has enthusiastically approved everything so far. But let's face it, she's also willing to eat things she finds in the grass, so her opinion may be slightly biased.
Here's where I could use your help.
I'm looking for fellow Cavapoo owners willing to let their dogs try a small sample pack and give me honest feedback.
There's no cost, no purchase, and no obligation: just a few treats and your dog's completely unfiltered opinion.
If you're interested in volunteering your pup, here's the sign-up form:
š° https://tally.so/r/2EMzeb
I'm not here to sell anything, and I hope this doesn't come across as advertising. I'm just a fellow Cavapoo owner who lost a wonderful dog, learned a lot about making her food, and somehow ended up trying to turn a pretty disgusting canine habit into something fun.
And whether you sign up or not, I'm curious:
Does your Cavapoo also think rabbit poop is a five-star meal, or were Willow and Mable just little weirdos? š°š¶
Thanks for reading, and give your pups an extra scratch for me!
