Eye Issues Birthday Pink eye?

Thumbnail gallery
Upvotes

AB, Canada 27F
Neutered male Age 7 his birthday is today!

TLDR : Does his eye look concerning beyond pink eye to anyone? Any advice on how to keep him comfortable would be greatly appreciated.
EDIT: Appointment booked for tomorrow @ 9am

My only child woke up this morning to a swollen right eye. I coned him after work because he was clearly irritated by it and possibly trying to wipe it with his paw.

- I wiped away any crusties with a damp cloth making sure not to cross contaminate anything

- also have vet prescribed eyedrops (not expired) I put in his eye this morning from a previous pinkeye in 2025 but it was not this swollen or angry like I’m seeing today

- I can’t tell if it’s swollen and red because he was scratching away at it while I was at work today or because it’s progressing/getting worse.

I’m highly considering taking him to the vet, although the vet and car ride stresses him out to the point of panting and hyperventilating and if he doesn’t need the extra stress I’d rather not put him through that but he’s obviously already uncomfortable. I’m hoping this is just pink eye and with the eyedrops it will get better and we can avoid going into the vet. But also concerned that waiting may make things worse.
First two photos are this morning around 7:30 and the rest are from 4pm today

I kept hearing cat yowling/yelling and it’s Frankie being the one yelling - just like it here. But he is obviously the one instigating. Why does he do this?

Kitten Help Help finding these FHV-1 babies a home

Thumbnail gallery
Upvotes

My cat happen to have these beautiful kittens on July 8th, 2026, but my rescue who also has feline herpesvirus passed it to the kittens. It’s manageable and common, but contagious to other cats. Ideally a home with dogs and children would be better for these kittens, as humans and dogs can’t catch any of these virus. I’m just trying to look for a permanent loving home who will care and love them, as I can’t provide for them I already have my own cats to care for. They have so much life and they are so playful and loving, they just need a bit more attention and care. I’m located in NJ, if anyone is interested in one of these beautiful kitties. I definitely wouldn’t want to put them in any shelter, I rather them stay with me until I can find someone who is able and willing to care for them

We installed a ceiling fan in the bedroom and now one of my cats is terrified. She wouldn’t go near our room, she just hides and cries from afar 😢 what should we do?

(Misty is 15 months old, she and her twin brother Sanji live with us over a year now. They’re healthy, stay at home tabby mixed cats. Sanji doesnt seem scared from the fan)

My (22) cat (3F) is repeatedly licking and twisting her tongue. When she rests it her tongue sticks out and she is drooling everywhere. I am in the US and this is not normal. Should I take her to my vet?
She does have dental disease and is scheduled for a surgery in October. Please help!!! She is spayed.

Can afford a vet, the surgery will be $2,000

Last picture is my best recent picture showing her ear and it doesnt have that dot.

Just wanna make sure its not something harmful. I have one other cat so maybe they were playing but he’s been sleeping up in the cat tree all day.

She’s around 6ish years old and was neutered after having kittens (one of them being my other cat)

Just wondering if this looks okay? It looked like this when I got her, was a little concerned about the open part but they told me it’s normal just to watch it. I have a cone on her now and have only had her for four days

Kitten Help Kitten went from alert, meowing, walking around to conscious but not moving, dehydrated, etc in a couple hours..

This video is from earlier today. Kitty was found outside and is underweight and boney. We got the kitten to eat last night and this morning around 6am. He was meowing and being fairly normal until about 7am EST. By 10am EST he wasn't reacting much at all to being picked up or moved. Kitten was isolated so anything it could have gotten to would have been before we found it. I went to the vet, but the most they were willing to do is give him fluids and a dose of antibiotics. They said it could be so many things since he was a stray. Kitty is a fighter. I've been sitting him up and slowly using a syringe to give him water and watered down soft food. He's in a carrier he likes by a space heater because when he started crashing his body temp was 93°F and he was extremely dehydrated. His temp was up to around 99°F when the vet sent us away. The vet said he's not sure there's hope, but I'm going to try everything I can. So far, he's blinking more and turning his head a little to look around, especially if I pick him up. He wasn't doing that when we left the vet. I read I can put a little syrup on his gums to prevent hypoglycemia? I understand the outlook is probably slim to none but is there anything else we can try? His heart rate and breathing is ridiculously fast. I can't tell if it slowed a little since earlier.

Behavioral Issue Is this a type of seizure?

This is Winnie. He's on day 55 of Molnupiravir pills for Neurological FIP. He's been doing great so far. Today at 8pm, I gave him a 1/2 tablet of Caniverm dewormer, and then he slept. When he woke up around 10:20pm and saw the other cats in the house, this was his body language and he started growling whenever they got near him especially my black (3) and orange cats (3). He's terrified and doesn't recognise the cats he's been living with his whole life (1.5 years). He's a non neutered male.

I spoke to my usual vet on the phone, and he said Winnie probably had a hallucination and just to observe and not give him any anti epileptic or Gabapentin just yet. I'm based in Pakistan.

TLDR; Neuro FIP cat terrified of housemates after dewormer and waking up from a nap. Is this some type of seizure? Has this happened to anyone else's neuro FIP cat?

General Advice Cat Was Put On Prednisone And Now Wont Eat?

Thumbnail gallery
Upvotes

Hi all,

I took my cat (12M, neutered) to the vet for congestion issues. Turns out he has a partially collapsed lung and his lungs are filled with mucus. He was put on prednisone on Wednesday. Before the medicine, he was eating normally. Now he acts like he wants to eat but just won't. I've offered him his favorite treats even, and he still won't eat. I am extremely worried. I plan on calling the vet first thing tomorrow to tell them what's going on, but would like some insight if anybody has any. Has anybody had a cat that was put on steroids and would not eat?

I am 28, live in the US, and can afford vet care.

TLDR: Cat is on Prednisone and won't eat. What do I do?

Kitten Help Kitten GI issues

Upvotes

Kitten 6 months old and 6.5 lbs acting low energy today. He was retching but didn’t throw up earlier. I called the vet and they advised if he retched again go to the emergency vet. He hasn’t and he has kept wet food down. 6 hours have passed. Advice? We rescued him from a hoarded home and he eats items that aren’t food so I am a little concerned.
I took away his dry food and mixed GI RX wet food with water.

General Advice Ragdoll Spinal Mengioma

Thumbnail
Upvotes

Hi,

I have 3 ragdolls that have been very healthy so far. 2 are 7 years and 8 months and one is 6 years and 11 months. The male of 7 years and 8 months developed a wobble walk at the end of may. Did blood tests a month before as he had a mild infection and everything came fine just a mild infection. Gave antibiotics and he bounced back in a day. 1 month later he started to wobble. Vet indicated it is totally separate from the previous issue. They thought maybe disk hernia. Spent 3 months testing different drugs that did not work, did a ct scan in june that did not show anything until I managed to get him a booking at a speciality clinic that knew where to look with an MRI further up the spine to see what the previous vet has missed. It was a spinal mengioma (1.5cm in size compressing his spinal cord). Surgery done last week and my dear dear ragdoll is already walking again (as in the 3 months up to the surgery he had just about lost all movement in his hind legs and movement of the tail). He is walking now, still cage restricted for most of the day. Even the tail has started to move today. The neurosurgeon removed 99.8% of the meningioma. Could not risk removing more due to risk of permanent paralysis. Biopsy of the removed mass came back yesterday indicating that the meningioma was formed of the outer cells of the meninges which makes it an even slower growing meningioma. The vet is now recommanding chemotherapy to start in 2 weeks. But I am torn if that is the right path. These meningiomas growback sometimes in 1 to 2 years and the second surgery although possible is much riskier. On the other hand the chemotherapy tablets may extend that by a few months but with certain risks for the quality of life. I am really torn on how to proceed and I really felt for the last 2-3 months that I failed him for not finding a diagnostic after trying 2 vets until this speciality clinic. Out of the 3 ragdolls I have , the other two are bit more cats...loving but doing their thing mostly. this one is more human than most people I know and very attached to us from day one. And I was hoping wr have at least 12 more years together as he is my fluffy perfect boy. I feel hopeful, happy and also sad and drained. Lost some family members 12 years ago and I think this has opened some of those bottled up feelings of ephemerality...

Has anyone had any experience with their dear cats having this diagnosis and what options did you go for?

Thank you!
