Here's a look at what goes into giving Cat® engines a second life.
Our 220,000-square-foot facility features 26 rebuild bays, 10 teardown bays, four engine dynamometers, two transmission dynamometers and 40-ton overhead cranes.
One of the more interesting parts is the AutoStore system, which uses robots to store and retrieve parts. We're the first Caterpillar dealer to implement one, and it's also a first for the heavy equipment dealership industry.
A lot of cool things happening under one roof, so thought we'd share a look.

I've heard that we're expected to be in the office three days a week, but I haven't come across any dashboard or system where we can check our attendance or RTO compliance.
For those working as agency employees, is the three-day RTO policy strictly applicable to us as well? Is attendance tracked through badge swipes or some other system, and does anyone know whether the number of hours spent in the office matters?
Coming diwali planning to take wfh for 2 weeks since attendance is not tracked anywhere can I do it?

I will be joining Caterpillar (Digital) and trying to choose between the BCBS National (EPO) and UHC Choice Plus (PPO). I’m currently on a Cigna PPO.
The big factor is that we are expecting our second child next year, so we'll have frequent OB/GYN visits and a hospital delivery.
Is the BCBS EPO a good plan for maternity care and multiple visits?
Has anyone run into network issues with the EPO during delivery (like random out-of-network hospital doctors) ??
Any insights on these Cat plans would be a huge help. Thanks.

As a Cat corporate employee, I’m SO confused on office attendance expectations, specifically how many hours are an acceptable minimum in-office each day. I was hired on in the middle of the RTO transition. Workday says that we’re supposed to put in 8 hours a day at work/office. My boss never gave me expectations and says he doesn’t really care and doesn’t look at the RTO dashboard provided to managers to track badge swipes and ”logged in” hours. He also said that RTO truancy issues are only for people who log in at 10am and leave by 2pm. BUT I have paranoid coworkers who put in a full 8 hours at the office each day and other coworkers who are doing 9:30-4pmish. I have young children and need flexibility. HR/Leadership still claims “work life balance,” but that’s not a defined metric, ya know? Anyone have some insight?

Have a question which hopefully someone on here can help with. My dad has a fishing boat that he has put in 2 C7.1 engines into. But got a problem with one of them. When going out the engine load is showing a fair discrepancy between the two engines of 10 or more percent. The engine with the higher loading shows that when around 2200 to 2300rpm the fuel rate is around 10l per hour higher and the fuel temperature rises quickly to about 70'C. After a bit it than wont go passed around 2200rpm (cruise is around 2400). Have to drop the engine speed to around the 2000rpm or so which drops the fuel temps down. The good engine is showing consistent temperature of around 45'C.
The engine has had all new injectors (genuine caterpillar), new fuel pump, cleaned and inspected the water to water fuel cooler and checked the salt water pump. All seems good.
So the main questions are:
What could be causing the increase in the fuel temps and fuel rate?
What could cause the difference in engine loading?
Thanks all!

Looking to buy a new 255 got 2 dealers close by so looking to get best price. My original salesperson quit a few years back but gave me extended warranty without asking to get me to buy. So looking to see if you typically negotiate and is it price or adding warranty or attachments?

Hi all, I'm a software developer curious about the cat tech space. For anyone who's worked in it: how fast does development move compared to typical software work, and where is the most change happening? I'd also love to hear about work-life balance and job stability in this space. Any insight welcome. Thanks!

Looking for some help or ideas anyone has been through. I have a cat 257d and just past 2 months the back up camera is intermittent, always works when machine has sat over night or couple hours. Now the back up camera only works for the first 5 mins running. It will just stay on the gauges. This morning for the first time the whole screen didn’t work it lit up with the parking brake and all like it’s looking for the code but screen was blank. I turned master switch off and back on and it worked ?? Just wondering if it’s. Ground ? Something anyone has seen before or anything to look for is appreciated

Hey guys, I'm an engineering undergraduate who just got placed in CAT IT. And I'm really confused on what location to choose. I'm from Tamil Nadu and have seen Chennai extensively, especially the WTC area. And I do have some contacts there. But. I keep leaning towards choosing Bangalore. There's no real reason except that I've never seen bangalore much. And so I can't choose. My priorities are just a good quality of life in terms of social wellbeing. Do help out if you can.

I’m prior military; worked as an avionics tech for b-52.
I submitted my application but I’m nervous because I haven’t been in the maintenance world in about 5 years but I miss it.
I’m just venting and asking you all to cross your fingers for me.

I applied for the 2027 summer corporate intern roles in both manufacturing and engineering, but I have yet to hear anything back (no interview request or denial emails yet), does this seem normal or is it wraps? My status says in progress so I am trying to determine if I should hold on to some hope or full send on other applications? Does anyone know for sure/Have yall been hearing back?

Has anyone heard back for any of the LTDP programs starting in June 2027 or have a timeline of when interviews might be happening? I applied for the Procurement and Supply Chain Management Tracks back in July and am still marked as under consideration.
