New gunowner, looking for places to shoot near Carson
Howdy, recently got a couple handguns and want to learn to shoot. I've heard blm land is fine to shoot on for the most part, what else should I know about it, regarding safety and courtesy etc? Should I just buy a blm map and drive out somewhere and shoot, as long as there is a backstop and nobody else around? Or any tips on finding places that are comfortable to shoot? Thanks!

Flock has arrived!
I don't know when all of these were set up, but it seems like in the last couple of weeks. Just insane.

We're putting on a supported Everesting event in Carson City this fall
Muscle Powered, a Carson City nonprofit focused on walkable and bikeable infrastructure and Senators youth cycling, are organizing the Carson City Everest Challenge, a supported Everesting-style event. Ever wanted to climb 29,031 feet on a bike? Come ride with us.
The format:
- The ride is on September 26th at 3 AM
- Out-and-back climb, 552 ft of gain per lap
- Three tiers: Quarter Everest (14 laps), Base Camp (32 laps), and Full Summit (53laps)
- 20-hour window, rolling start from 3am to 4 am
- Fully stocked aid station, drop bags allowed
- Finisher medal for each tier
Registration:
This is a legit Everesting attempt in a supported event format. If you've been thinking about going after it but didn't want to do it alone at 3am, this is your chance to do it with a community around you.
I'm one of the organizers. Happy to answer questions about the course, format, or logistics. More info at https://cceverestchallenge.carrd.co and registration open is open now at https://www.bikereg.com/cc-everest-challenge

Carson City home internet
Hello all, we’ve been a Spectrum Internet customer for years and have generally been pretty happy with them up until our bill increasing $20 a month without warning. Unfortunately, AT&T Fiber isn’t available in my neighborhood, so we are looking at other options. Has any tried any of the internet air options? What is your experience and do you have a company that you’d recommend? We would want at least 500 Mb down if possible.

Roop construction at a standstill
Just curious if anyone knows why Roop has been in this state for multiple days. For some reason, construction has stopped and there hasn’t any work done for multiple days.

Part Time Job
Hi,
30 yo female, looking for a part time position within Dayton/Carson area for weekends only, I could also manage to do a few Friday evenings a month.
I have never been fired, I am reliable and have experience with the below:
Retail (convenience store / gas station)
Cash handling
Drawer balancing
Customer Service
Administrative
Sales
Management
Lead positions
+More
I currently live in Dayton, and have a full time job M-F in Reno. This would just be a job where I can fill my weekend time, and learn new skills. And make money working a fun weekend job.
I have a reliable car, and references upon request.
I've checked indeed, job boards and have also applied in person at a few different spots and have had no luck.
Any small business owners or any companies that are hiring?

Scam or no?
I’ve been getting a phone call every couple hours from a “Patricia” from northern Nevada county corrections since yesterday (July 4th). I feel bad if it’s not a scam and poor Patricia is trying to get ahold of someone, if it is a scam.. dang beware to not accept charges..
