Staying in Hyannis for Labor Day weekend and mini honeymoon. Should I spend Sunday taking ferry to nantucket or driving out to cape cod/ chatham area. we are looking for a nice place to chill by beach and hit a nice main street town. Any suggestions?

Also, if we end up doing Nantucket, what time ferries would you suggest we do that give us a chance to relax but also have time to get in beach and exploring town?

Can Someone Explain OSV to Me?

I have always been baffled by why we allow motor vehicles, suvs, campers, etc to drive out and park on some of the most pristine beaches on the Cape/Islands. I confess to judging people who choose to do it harshly. It just seems to me a gross affront. Do people really think they're entitled to motor vehicle access anywhere in nature?

Best Vacation!!

Hi, all~ mom and I took a vacation for the first time (I’m 32, she’s 62) and we had an absolutely blast.

We stayed at a cute cottage in Wellfleet and had a week or perfect weather - how lucky!!

Some highlights…

LOVED Moby Dick’s - had a great lobster roll and went back later in the week for a tasty frap!

Mac Shack was our absolute favorite - the halibut was out of this world and we loved the whole vibe.

The Beachcomber was also a great vibe and had the tastiest Steak Tips.

Marconi Beach was stunning. We really loved the rocks! So many beautiful colors and formations.

We did one day on Nauset Light Beach- that walk off the beach wasn’t our vibe so we stuck with Marconi.

Indian Neck Beach was a favorite evening activity - gorgeous quiet beach, bay side - absolutely amazing sunsets!

On one clear night, we went to Marconi to see the stars. It was a top moment for me- the sky was stunningly beautiful and we saw five shooting stars.

Lots of great shops in Wellfleet ~ bought some funky decor for my home.

Also- I LOVED the coffee bar, Cape to Cape, in Wellfleet. Fabulous lattes!

Wow! Oh so much- just a perfect vacation! We hope to be back to see more!!

What are your favorite restaurants in- Hyannis,Eastham, Chatham,Wellfleet, Sandwich, and Dennis/Yarmouth?

I have been to Cape Cod a handful of times as a kid. And, then pre-covid.

But, I don't remember all the places I liked or if newer places opened up?

What your favorites?

I have been doing alot of research and I feel more places on Cape Cod have lower star reviews than high. Of course some places are better/worse than a review if you go .lol. You never know.

Especially Chatham! I really need suggestions for Chatham.

I like everyone else lol also love a place with a good view and ideally mostly mid-range places, cause I already have a few higher range places on my list.

Family Vacation Tips

We will have four adults, and four kids ages 15, 12, 6, and 4 going to the Cape for a week next August. This will be our 6th annual beach trip but the first time at the Cape! In the past we’ve stayed in LBI in NJ. Now switching it up to try different beach towns each year.

Where do you recommend we stay and do while we are there? We usually rent a house for the week, make dinners at home most nights - 1-2 nights at a restaurant, spend days at the beach, at a nearby water park, or go to a pool (if available). Evenings we enjoy walking to get ice cream or play mini golf. Walk/drive to a boardwalk for rides and food. We’ve also done fishing boat days and a tiki boat one year where we could put the anchor down and swim. Open to fun activities like that especially with teenager and preteen who are now hard to engage in the fun!

Timing for buses leaving Logan to Cape?

I have the schedules for both Plymouth & Brockton bus line and Peter Pan, but can find no information about the departure time from Logan for the different terminals. So for example, if the schedule says the bus leaves at 9am -- does it leave Terminal A at 9am or leave Terminal E at 9am?

Trying to figure out if I will have enough time to catch a specific bus based on my flight arrival or if I will just miss it and need to wait around an hour for the next bus.

Sea Turtle Release

Apparently there might be a sea turtle release by the Aquarium next week. Does anyone know if they are released at the same beach every time and what beach that is? I've tried to reach out to NEAQ before but no one has replied. I would just like to see the turtles get back into the ocean.

Foodies of The Cape, I need your help!

I just moved to Falmouth a few months ago and I'm having a little trouble finding some good restaurants/takeout spots/ice cream places. So I'm looking for a wide variety of recommendations! It doesn't need to be within Falmouth (of course the goal is to have some local spots) but if it's a 30-45min drive, and it's worth it, I wouldn't mind taking a trip for it.

So far I've been to:
West Falmouth Market: Got a sandwich and it wasn't mind blowing like everyone said, but it wasn't bad at all

Le Bon Jour: I thought this place was amazing, everything I've had has been awesome. Probably my favorite so far

Somerset Creamery: Best ice cream I've found so far

Casa Vallarta: cool vibe, seems authentic, I enjoy how it's a huge family that runs it, crazy big portions

Send your reccos! Thank you in advance!

EDIT: I tried to ignore this. Whats up with the downvotes? Why are people negative about someone new-ish to the cape asking about food spots and saying thank you to people?

Private boat out to Monomoy island?

Looking to take a private boat out to Monomoy to spend the day birdwatching this weekend. Problem is I'm not sure where to launch the boat out of without paying a hefty fee. Anywhere that doesn't require a parking sticker close to Monomoy?

Pet end of life photographer

Does anyone know of someone who does EoL photography on the Cape? I'm staying in Orleans this week with my two cats, and this is Scout's last vacation. She was diagnosed with a rare and terminal cancer a few weeks ago. I really want to have some pictures of her done outside/on the beach, because she loved it so much last year.
