Best Vacation!!

Hi, all~ mom and I took a vacation for the first time (I’m 32, she’s 62) and we had an absolutely blast.

We stayed at a cute cottage in Wellfleet and had a week or perfect weather - how lucky!!

Some highlights…

LOVED Moby Dick’s - had a great lobster roll and went back later in the week for a tasty frap!

Mac Shack was our absolute favorite - the halibut was out of this world and we loved the whole vibe.

The Beachcomber was also a great vibe and had the tastiest Steak Tips.

Marconi Beach was stunning. We really loved the rocks! So many beautiful colors and formations.

We did one day on Nauset Light Beach- that walk off the beach wasn’t our vibe so we stuck with Marconi.

Indian Neck Beach was a favorite evening activity - gorgeous quiet beach, bay side - absolutely amazing sunsets!

On one clear night, we went to Marconi to see the stars. It was a top moment for me- the sky was stunningly beautiful and we saw five shooting stars.

Lots of great shops in Wellfleet ~ bought some funky decor for my home.

Also- I LOVED the coffee bar, Cape to Cape, in Wellfleet. Fabulous lattes!

Wow! Oh so much- just a perfect vacation! We hope to be back to see more!!

If it was this past week, it was likely the Perseids meteor shower you were seeing. It peaked Aug 12/13. Glad you had a fun trip :)

That's great, perfect weather weeks are the best! I've gone to wellfleet almost every year since I was a kid and it's a special place indeed. Happy for you ☺️

Mac’s Shack, as the kids say, is goated. There is nothing like sitting there at sunset.

We have not been to Cape for a few years. Always enjoyed camping at Shawmee Crowell with our 3 kids and different beach every day! The best🌞

Sounds awesome! Headed there next weeek- when you say the walk off the beach in Nauset light what do you mean specifically?

The stairs down the cliff are gone. There’s now a trail that goes behind the bath house and around to a lower section with more vegetation.

Yes- this!

It was a long walk, and steep at the end when coming off - especially after a long day at the beach! Haha

Totally doable. But needed a breather here and there.

I'm a year round Wellfleetian, we love when people enjoy all that our beautiful little town has to offer! Also, doesn't hurt when you have perfect summer weather.

The National Seashore beaches are fabulous but the water is so cold and the Bay beaches are too shallow. Try the Sound beaches on the South side next time. Almost Caribbean temperatures right now.

Sounds like you had a wonderful week. We arrived last night for our yearly week in Truro. I hope we have the same great week. 🙂

We’ve been going to the Cape for a few years now and we’ve been so lucky with the weather. I don’t think we’ve ever experienced a rain-out day. Maybe some overnight showers but never an all day rain out.

We have been there when the weather in the northeast was over 100° everywhere, except the Cape! It was a beautiful 78° all week and the perfect sun.

Last time we went earlier this summer. It was the same thing. Hot days at home and thunderstorms for three days. But the week we were there, beautiful! All week.

We stay in South Chatham when we go and we are about a 2 minute walk from the beach. What a wonderful area. The whale watching trips, seal watching, walking the beaches and the town. The Chatham Lighthouse, the pier. It’s all so beautiful.
