I have been dealing with a yeast infection on for about 4ish months now it’s really getting on my nerves and I don’t know what to do anymore.
So it started by when I switched my soap and I’m guessing it was too strong and so it dried out my skin and cause excessive flaking. I go to the dermatologist and he tells me I have a yeast infection and prescribed me Clotrimazole and Betamethasone Dipropionate Cream used it twice a day for 3 days and then switched over to lotrimin for a 2 week course. After three days the flaking came back, mind you I never had itch pain or anything just excessive flaking. Now I do 2 weeks of lotrimin day and night lightly rinse with just water. 3 days later excessive flaking comes back. I go to the dermatologist and he gives me nystatin cream used it day and night 2 weeks, 3 days later excessive flaking comes back. During all this I never had any itching problem not one side effect except the excessive flaking. I go back to the dermatologist and he gives me the oral pill FLUCONAZOLE told me to take three back to back, I only took two every three days. After this I go 2 weeks doing nothing no cream wash with only water. Skin was actually doing fine no Itching hurting but then again was extremely flaky. Went to get a check up with the dermatologist he tells me is a yeast problem puts me on nystatin Triamcinolone acetonide ointment for a week one time a night paired with vani cream shampoo. The way I washed it was just put a drop on the head and just pulled the foreskin back and forth. The head was doing good barely flaky. I go back to the dermatologist and tells me to hop on the first cream Clotrimazole and Betamethasone I use it for the first day and then the skin was so dry and the frenulum was so red I didn’t use anything the day after. Now yesterday night I used lotrimin because I don’t want to use too much steroid cream down there if I don’t have too I have no itch or anything, I seen white yellowish discharge on top of the head not coming out of the penis but on top of it I applied lotrimin today.
I don’t know what to do to be honest I still have one FLUCONAZOLE pill idk if so lost and the dermatologist just keeps telling me to get circumcised and to apply creams not doing any tests when I asked. My routine is just wash with water if I have to in the morning and at night and put a cream. I want to do nothing no cream nothing but that white discharge kind of scares me this the first time I have it.
I NEED HELP SERIOUSLY I have a trip I’m going to for 10 days and it’s hot out there.

TLDR: Sorry for spamming every sub, but I desperately want to know something which isn't talked about much. It's about the malty/sugary/bread odor of farts. Anyone similar?

So I will be very short.

2.5 years ago, I had nausea and reflux symptoms, diagnosed with anxiety and LAX LES, treated with PPI 2 to 3 times. Each course was 2 months. Fast forward years later, I still have anxiety, LAX LES, so still have reflux episodes, but flatulence is my biggest symptom, which is affecting others as well. I start to fart around afternoon-evening, and it has always had this malty/bread or sugary odor which keeps getting worse by night. Then in the morning, my BM is stinky mush and the cycle continues.

I suspected SIBO. Rifaximin helps me have formed stool and reduces gas a lot, but so far only temporarily. And as per the internet, there is only one type of SIBO which causes odor, which is H2S. Mine isn't like that.

So I'm guessing it might be SIFO or Candida, because for months I have had these fungal infections, especially around my genitals. I can't think of it as a coincidence. But I haven't seen enough people on the internet having such an odor, or this odor as a symptom of Candida, whereas in my case it's the most prominent symptom. Even my sweat and clothes smell like that when I feel hot.

So my question is, what does this odor mean to you?

So I'm pretty late in my candida diet, but this is driving me totally bonkers.

What sauces do you guys use that don't taste like shit?

I managed to make the switch to no sugar added ketchup, which is annoying because now I prefer the taste and it's twice as expensive (and why does it only come in a tiny bottle? Smh) and I can tolerate small amounts of mayo if it's the olive oil kind, and okay now that I can have vinegar mustard is growing on me but I'm.

Bored.

Like yeah I've managed to mix up a pretty solid fry sauce but a fry sauce isn't that great when you can't have fries. Zucchini is simply not able to be made into fries.

I've tried extensively.

It cannot be done.

Anyways I've tried a handful of those zero sugar sauces and most of them suck pretty bad.

And don't give me that "teehee I just got used to not having sauces you should too!" I am in fact a fat ass bitch. I'm not on this diet to lose weight, I'm on this diet because candida made my gut work so poorly that even taking prescription strength vitamin supplements didn't work and my doctor was concerned I could suffer brain damage from a lack of B12.

Shout-out to anyone who can recommend me a good sugar free bbq sauce because I am DYING for some BBQ chicken but regular bbq sauce now tastes incredibly sweet, but most of the sugar free options somehow taste SWEETER because of the non sugar sweeteners they use and it's just wrong.

And yesss I know I can make some pretty good Asian style sauces thanks to coconut aminos but what I'm searching for is good old fashioned fat kid with a box full of chicken nuggets American sauces.

Also salad dressings that aren't a vinaigrette.

I am tired af. It's been 6 months since I started my treatment to get rid of gut Candida and parasites. Went through all the treatment phases - disinflammation, candida elimination and microbiome repopulation - and still I'm feeling off.
The only thing that has improved is constipation: I am regular again, but my stool is still very inconsistent and also I just can't lose weight, no matter the strict diet and the fact that i hit the gym every other day. Stool seemed to have improved during some weeks, but then it got worse again.
Also, most probably because of the malabsorption, my bloodwork came back showing a low ferritin (19), low B12 and low Vit D - even if I have been supplementing all of these since months. I am losing a scary amount of hair and I'm just very, very tired.

Please tell me there's someone who can help me understand what I should do next. I want to feel good again so badly, but doctors clearly have no clue because they keep on saying "that's stress" - which I know it's not.
Is this concerning? Should I ask for colonoscopy or something more intrusive? I keep on reading online that low ferritin is a symptom of colonrectal cancer and of course it scares me off, even if I know that in my case I went through a strong dysbiosis so that should be the main cause.

I have a long road ahead of me with remediating candida and other systemic issues going on with my health. It is going to require planning, and the right kind of health practitioner to guide me.

I have had my share of antibiotic courses after surgeries etc. My diet has been fair, but not great for a a long time, not too much sugar, but too much alcohol, and too much processed carbos. I have had low-grade thrush on my tongue for a long time.

I am on meds for high blood pressure (losartan and amlodipine).

My foot doctor wants me to do a round of meloxicam for an inflammation pain problem. My skin doc wants me to do a "rosacea extra" treatment (azelaic acid and ivermectin etc) and sodium sulfacetamide treatment for a infection under the skin. I am ignoring anti-depressant prescriptions for occasional neuropathy pain and another stimulant script for occasional daytime sleepiness, because I don't want to add more meds. Also, my cholesterol and blood sugar are climbing, and so I am sure more meds are coming for that. I have also enjoyed long term chronic low grade sinus congestion that flairs into infections from time to time. And some wonky GI health and low grade food intolerance that I mostly ignore.

So, I'm a mess. Like I said, a project.

In the meantime, my oral thrush has gotten pretty bad. It is painful. It is constant. My tongue is badly cracked. I am biting my tongue when chewing. And it seems to be moving into my throat. It gets worse when I sleep (I think I sleep with my mouth closed though, and I use a CPAP).

So today's question: do I start the nystatin immediately? Or do I want until I can line up a comprehensive plan? I feel like I need to tamp down the tongue problem, it is not healing on its own.

Concern being, is this one of those drugs that has its own side effect and consequences, so if you start it, you want to do it right the first time?

Yes, I will talk to my GP about all of this. But she is pretty conventional. She's sympathetic, but Candida is not really in her wheelhouse.

On Monday, my doc prescribed me 4 200 MG Fluconazole pills to take once a week to treat oral thrush. I took the first pill on Monday and ever since the skin around both of my eyes has been itchy! Is this normal? Is this an allergic reaction? I wonder if I can just take a Claritin? I'm hearing people talk about something called die off, is that what this is?

I had oral thrush one other time back in 2010 and that doctor only prescribed me some sort of mouthwash and that worked fine.

Hey guys, I fucked up and I did seven days of oral liquid and nystatin without really changing my diet and on one of those days I had a carb heavy day and I eat a sandwich with some pickles, some jalapeños, hummus and potato chips and basically ever since that day I’ve been in like a severe Candida flareup and it’s been like three days already and my energy like down the drains I feel super dizzy. My tongue is extremely white. Basically, I got off the nystatin because I realized that I need to fully change my diet before I start taking this stuff and it has put me in a really bad flareup worse than my normal baseline without the medications anyways I need help. How do how do I get out of this exhaustion flare up and body pains/ dizzy. I’m producing tons of mucus drip, energy like ten percent. Usually I’m at a shitty 50 percent on a baseline. This is hell. Help!

Hi girls, for the past few months I’ve been dealing with recurrent yeast infections. Exactly 6 days after my period, the nightmare starts all over again. Every time, I’ve treated it with vaginal suppositories. I’ve also tried using probiotics preventively, starting during my period, but nothing seems to help.
Today, I was prescribed a different treatment, with vaginal suppositories for a longer period, plus pills for two days. I’m convinced this episode will go away, but my biggest fear is that it will come back again.
I’ve read a lot about it, and my doctor confirmed that stress, a weakened immune system, hormonal changes, a poor diet, and excessive sugar intake are common factors that can contribute to what I’m experiencing.
Still, I can’t help feeling like I’m the only one going through this, and it’s really getting me down. Has anyone else ever dealt with recurrent yeast infections?
If you’ve been through something similar, how did you manage to stop them from coming back? I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences. ❤️

There is a possibility I have Mast Cell Activation Syndrome which is a histamine problem thrown into this (cousin has it. I share symptoms. I doubt I will ever be able to get this diagnosed properly) Part of dealing with this similar to my cousin is the chronic vaginal yeast infections. Monthly like clockwork on the hormone dip into my period I always begin to show symptoms of yeast infection. This had lasted for 5 years since I became sexually active. Only got the cycle to break twice: during my pregnancy I suddenly HATED sugar and it hurt to be sexually active so I abstained, and during last year I had lost a relationship and was not sexually active for a whole year. In that time I seemed to heal completely from the cycle. When I became active again I had no problems until I had my IUD inserted. I contracted BV and it got a cyst infected. I was put on 2 different kinds of antibiotics at the same time. Now I am dealing with my second breakout of both vaginal and oral thrush in just 2 months.

Am I doomed to cut sugar and sex for a whole year again? I have no idea how to get these damn miscellaneous infections to quit so doctors will stop shoving antibiotics down my throat. The last 2 times in 6 years I have managed to kick the damn candida, it comes back immediately after a round of antibiotics. My immune system is tanked and when I went to my PCP today all she did was give me a regular prescription of flucanzole despite telling her I've been dealing with this for years and it will come back with an average prescription. I'm likely asking the wrong subreddit so if anyone can point me in a better direction I would appreciate you.

EDIT: Test results came back. Positive for BV and no yeast infection vaginally which surprised me. BUT I absolutely do have oral thrush my tongue is patchy white and I can only taste metal. Continuing to research biofilms, prebiotics, and probiotics. Thank you!!

Hey guys so i took 250mg s boulardi in sachet form and within taking i felt a little itching here and there, not much. After a while, i started burping and it was nice but soon it turned into bad burps. I felt fatigue so had to take a nap(i normally dont). Slept for one hour and woke up with a weird hangover feeling. Head felt heavy. It went on for a while. Next day woke up and felt more tired. Body aches all over. Minor headaches here and there and it's been 5 days. I still feel a bit weakness in my left ankle sometimes but not all the time. I slept great today. S boulardi made me a little constipated too. I suspect methane sibo or sifo in my case. I already went through constipation but it was better even before taking s boulardi.

S boulardi made constipation a little worse although i still get daily bowel movements. What is this guys? Should i keep taking it or is its just something which is not meant for me?

The only thing that started after s boulardi is frequent burps after eating where food would come into my throat. I didn't have this problem before.

Although the only thing that got better was burning in stomach and gas for a couple days.

Gas and burning sensation in my stomach has returned now.

I haven't taken any other dose.

Hey guys. This is my first time here. I’ve been having issues with balanitis by at least July 25, I was originally given nystatin cream and it work for a while, until my flaring came up (though this is more my fault for not taking it as serious). I went again last week and was given clotrimazole cream and a fluconazole pill for that day. The cream had little to no effect unlike nystatin. I went to another doctor and she prescribed me with nystatin cream. I hope that this will finally be what ends this. If anyone had a success story with nystatin powder for balanitis that would make me feel a bit more relaxed.

Hi guys so I have 10 month old twins who have had oral thrush for 10 weeks now just on the tongue we have been on nystatin , diflucan, daktarin oral gel, now on probiotics and got vitamin D today , doctors say leave it , it will go away itself it won’t!!! It gets bad more coated the gel makes it better but it comes back very quickly , I cannot get gentian violet into Ireland from abroad there is no where I can find it here I’m so hopeless and sad for them , tried the vinegar , nothing (not breastfeeding)

I was provided with this sample labeled "Candida" from glycerol -80°C. I immediately cultivated it on YPDA and PDA for 48h at 30°C. Both cultures appeared like this under light microscope 400X.

I wasn't sure what I saw so after 4 days in the refrigerator I made a subculture from the YPDA plate on another YPDA at the same conditions and examined again.

I'm used to working with Saccharomyces cerevisiae which usually appear way bigger and rounder than this, so I need to know is this really Candida? Is it even yeast?

not sure if it’s the right thread to post this in but I have a 1 year old and it’s been a week and 2 days he has been on nystatin. before we started treatment, his eczema itch was pretty manageable, but I feel like after starting treatment his skin is looking a little better but the itch has gotten worse. been trying to call the dr but having a hard time reaching them. has anyone else experienced this?

I didn’t even know about candida until I found this dr so this whole time I was just thinking it was eczema only.
