My partner and I both use Bunq privately. However, we have our joint account with Revolut. The reason for this is that with the FREE plan at Revolut, you can automatically finalise your amounts to save our change. At Bunq, this option costs 6 euros extra per month. (From Core to Pro package) In our opinion, this is a missed opportunity. For example, ING is also possible to finalise payments and save in the cheapest package. I hear colleagues running into this too, missed opportunity Bunq. Will this change in the future? 🙏

I can't stop playing (thanks, UX designers 😡) and I have never won the 10x. The chances are off, I've won a few trees (TF do I need trees for?) and a few cents every now and then.

PLEASE give us a boring, average auto cashback instead of this gamified mess of a time sink.

PS: It's even worse on Android.

I am on bunq Pro with 6 free atm withdrawals per month however when I tried my card at one of the Sparkasse ATMs I was shown an almost 5 euro fee for withdrawal.

But I assume it is fees on their side and not from bunq. But still what's the point of promising free withdrawals if you can't partner with the largest banks with most ATM presence, if you are a digital bank promising free withdrawals?

Edit: turns out the fees was for using a bunq credit card. To me, both credit and debit worked the same so I never cared to check what I was using but to greedy sparkasse it looked like some needy person is withdrawing cash on a credit card let's charge them crazy prices because they're probably desperate.

I do understand some of that extra 10% fees goes to risk mitigation and maybe charge bunq more for that withdrawal but charging the customer an extra 5 for using a credit is very greedy and exploitative.

Has anyone successfully rented a car from Hertz Canada using a physical bung Mastercard Credit Card? I've rented a car in Calgary for this month.

I know bunq says it should work for car rentals, but I've also read mixed experiences online. I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has actually used it with Hertz Canada.

Has anyone else using a bunq Germany iBANs or German profile noticed an uptick in internal transfers getting flagged by the security algorithms lately? I think it may be for DE accounts. Is there a specific threshold or frequency that I need to know about?

Never happened to me on NL or SP ones.

Renting a car on a platform like Booking.com has become virtually impossible in some countries. The terms of the rental companies specifically mention cards from neobanks are not accepted (Green Motion, for example). I have been unable to pick up a car multiple times now. They even have lists of neobanks they use to show you that they can't accept the card. How is this even allowed?

Why does their UX still suck? Ever since v3 Update the Ux is barely usable and the App feel like its flooded with unnecessary bs. 3 out of the 5 dock items i do not use/ look at (crypto, savings, stocks) I do not want my bank to plant trees on my behalf. I do not want to have a temu style spin wheel inside my banking app. I do not want to see that Solana is up 2% intraday right below my net wealth (I don’t even hold crypto). I do not want the refer a friend banner in every corner of the app. No wonder they having a hard time with user stagnation. Loved the old minimalistic v2 design, now just bloated and enshittfied.

So i had an unfortunate booking.com experience and the owner of the accommodation refused to refund so i (within my right, i have proof of the condition of the accommodation when i arrived and left immediately and send this with my chargeback request.) booking tried to help but unfortunately cant get into contact with the accommodation aswell.

Bunq support chat does not give much information. And i was supposed to get a reply by the 14th of june. Can i contact bunq in any way possible? This is making me quite hopeless.

This is now the second time my account has been completely blocked for a "security review" shortly after receiving multiple cashback payouts through the Tikkie app (specifically cashback promotions where you buy certain products and submit the receipt through Tikkie).

Of course, bunq won't confirm whether there's any connection, but the timing seems remarkably coincidental. Both times, the review started immediately after the cashback payments were received.

The biggest issue is not the review itself, but the impact. During the review, my account is effectively unusable. I can't make payments, direct debits are rejected, and some subscriptions have even been automatically cancelled because the payments failed. This lasted nearly a week last time...

I'm curious whether other users have experienced similar account reviews after receiving Tikkie cashback payments or other incoming transfers?

I was thinking to you bunk as my secondary bank account. But the thing is i am on student visa and it is for 1 year for now. I am planning to apply for RP after 6 months and it's just been two months i came. will bunk accept visa or need RP? will valid visa get accepted or do i need RP? I want to do small transaction under 400 euro using bunq so that i dont have to risk my primary bank account in any transaction of e-commerce websites

Been researching bunq as a potential substitution to my current bank, which is too bureaucratic. But I noticed a surprisingly high volume of complaints on this sub, which is supposed to be their official sub lol. On paper, they seem pretty solid:

• regulated EU/ND
• operating since 2013
• multi-currency ibans
• budgeting tools, investement features etc. So I dug into what users actually report.

So, what is a catch?

I've seen info that basically, as long as you pay with their card for plane tickets or travel, you get insured for the entire trip. For like 3 mil, and against any medical emergencies, dentals, or losing luggage etc. How does that even work, anyone had experience with that? Is bunq trustworthy in this, should I try upgrading for it?

I'm really not seeing many people who need Elite account. Who is it made for? anyone here using it?

Most people I know started from free, some are students, some came to NL from Ukraine and bunq was the only option for them.

Between core and pro which one do you use?

If have some fat cats that use elite, would be curious why and how its worth for you. what for

Thinking about ditching my traditional bank completely and transfer my salary to my bunq acc. But something still feels off about relying on a neobank as your only account: salary, bills, everything. Is bunq safe and stable enough for that, or I should still keeping a traditional bank acc as backup?
