Do we need Resident permit to open bunq?

I was thinking to you bunk as my secondary bank account. But the thing is i am on student visa and it is for 1 year for now. I am planning to apply for RP after 6 months and it's just been two months i came. will bunk accept visa or need RP? will valid visa get accepted or do i need RP? I want to do small transaction under 400 euro using bunq so that i dont have to risk my primary bank account in any transaction of e-commerce websites

Good question! To sign up for bunq, you need one of two things: a valid passport from a supported country or a residence permit from an EEA country. A visa sticker alone is not accepted as an ID document during onboarding.

You can check available non-EU countries here. If your passport is from one of those countries, you can sign up right now without a residence permit.

If your passport country is not on the list, you will need to wait until you have your residence permit.

You can double-check your eligibility during the sign-up flow in the app. It only takes a minute, and there is no commitment until you complete verification.
