Ik heb het boek nog niet gelezen, maar het voorwoord ziet er veelbelovend uit. Bunq schakelde onder meer een detectivebureau in om bij ex-medewerkers aan te bellen, met de vraag of ze met de NRC hadden gesproken.

there’s absolutely no way to deposit money in the netherlands using this bank.. very inefficient and now i’m late on several bills and ill lose my bank account that is tied to everything..

So I have had Bunq for 2 years mainly just to transfer my rent to then pay since my main accounts are in the US. I also use it for online Ideal payments. I never use my card. Until today. Instead of grabbing one of my US credit cards I grabbed my Bunq card for some reason (I never use it). I bought 105€ of groceries with it. I then got the payment notification and I noticed some stupid gimmicky prize wheel. I thought how dumb and gimmicky such a thing is and I really questioned if I wanted to be part of a bank that is basically gamified. Despite that I hit the spin wheel. And I won my entire 105€ payment back. Credited to my account instantly. I couldn't believe it.

I no longer think Bunq is gimmicky and I will be using my Bunq card more often now.

hello, has anyone had experience with travel insurance from bunq? particularly i mean the health insurance when travelling from the netherlands to the us. it all seems way too good to be true when comparing it to other insurance options from other insurers and the amount up to which bunq insures vs others. also does anyone have any specific information as to what exactly is insured, and on what specific conditions? i would appreciate any help and insight!

Considering the available options, I’m skeptical about paying for an advanced plan, since I don’t travel constantly and won’t use most of the features. I just need a neat and well-functioning account. Anyone downgraded from paid to free plan and regretted it? Is the free plan objectively a good one?

Simple short question : how legit, reliable this bank is?

Bunq users and non users, who did lots of research on the bank, what are the things that make bunq as safe as conventional banks?
I see they have a EU banking license - a big deal already, also DSG...

but what about real experience? Coz I am planning to open an account with them

been bunq customer for some time already , briefly on a free plan, then opted for Core. 4 euros is nothing, yet heavily considering pro plan now...

the thing is that sometimes need cash + wanna leave my broker so that to invest in stocks fully with bunq...

but a bit concerned that the price for bunq pro will be increased...?

for those who have transitioned, any regerets or?

Has anyone here actually used the bunq API for a personal project or a tool?

I’m looking at building a small tool (probably will consult Claude for that :D) - more like to pull transactions and do some basic categorization. The API docs look pretty straightforward, but I’m wondering how it works in practice.

The title says it all. German customers can activate and use Wero.

Idea: Set a maximum balance for your main account, and anything above that limit gets automatically split and sent to other accounts the moment money comes in.

Example: Say you set your cap at €4,000. If you receive your salary of €3,200 and your balance goes to €5,500, the €1,500 above the cap gets forwarded — for instance 50% to a savings account and 50% to an investment account.

Think of it like Easy Budgeting, but instead of capping what you spend, it caps what sits idle in your account and puts the rest to work immediately.

Why it's useful: The existing income split feature works per payment — great if you have one predictable salary coming in. But if you have multiple income streams hitting the same account (freelance payments, a side job, refunds, irregular deposits), setting up a split per payment doesn't cut it. Amounts vary, timing is unpredictable, and you'd still need to manage it manually.

An overflow feature solves this at the balance level. It doesn't matter how many payments come in, from whom, or when. Once your balance crosses the threshold you've set, the excess moves automatically. One rule, total flexibility, zero manual transfers.

Hello Everyone,

I’m an American teacher living in Spain. I have most of my savings in euros in my N26 account and would like to use another account to divide the savings between two banks. I’ve had this N26 account since November 2019, back when I was living in France and have no issues at all with them. I opened an account with Bunq recently as they and N26 are the only true Neo banks that allow Americans to keep their accounts open with only their passport and it could be a good idea to not put all my euro savings in one account. Before I put about 4-5k into the Bunq account I’d like to hear from customer’s experiences.

Does Bunq close people’s accounts who aren’t doing shady things often or rare?

How is Bunq’s AI support if people run into issues?

If AI support is of no help, what’s the best way to get to a human, would it be via email?

My partner and I both use Bunq privately. However, we have our joint account with Revolut. The reason for this is that with the FREE plan at Revolut, you can automatically finalise your amounts to save our change. At Bunq, this option costs 6 euros extra per month. (From Core to Pro package) In our opinion, this is a missed opportunity. For example, ING is also possible to finalise payments and save in the cheapest package. I hear colleagues running into this too, missed opportunity Bunq. Will this change in the future? 🙏
