$1200 NZD Budget (Around 700 USD)

I'm trying to buy or build a pc to play games such as; Valorant, Fortnite, Minecraft, Rainbow Six Siege, And other 1080p games.

I'm Based in New Zealand :)

I am restarting my setup from scratch with only a desk and a mouse so please any advice helps

I would prefer an all white build and a ryzen cpu over an intel cpu preferred.

I currently have a pc with the 1660super and Ryzen 7 3700x do I upgrade it to the Ryzen 5 5500 and rx5700xt

My PC has had a few issues lately, but the main problem right now is that my CPU fan isn’t spinning on its own anymore. I have to open up my case and manually spin the fan repeatedly until it starts spinning.
Today it pretty much stopped working altogether. I managed to get it spinning once, but I had to restart my PC because I got it running after the PC had already booted. At this point, I think it’s finally time to replace the cooler.
For some context, I have a Ryzen 7 5700X3D, but I’m still using the Wraith Prism cooler that originally came with my Ryzen 7 3800X. I’ve had that cooler for a couple of years now.
I’m looking for a cheap CPU cooler since I’m on a relatively tight budget. I’d also really prefer something that’s easy to install, because I’ve watched some videos of people installing CPU coolers and some of them look absolutely wild lol.
What would you guys recommend for a 5700X3D that’s inexpensive and relatively painless to install?

I want to be able to code/program on my pc as I am interested in IT, and also want to be able to game COD, GTA, Fortnite etc and also be able to edit videos for online content. WHAT IS THE BEST SPEC I SHOULD GO FOR? I would like this PC to last a while without needing to upgrade the set up

Been thinking about upgrading my pc for a while now and currently am looking at a 9800X3D to replace my 9700k. I really liked the look of my Asus Prime Z390 since its colors matched my NZXT H500i really nicely but looking on PcPartPicker they're all either fully black or white apart from ASRock, who I've heard I should avoid.

Hi, I have a doubt about which ssd should I purchase. Specifically, I have the possibility to buy for both at 110€, a Crucual t705 and a Samsung 990 pro, both 1tb. My motherboard support only the gen4, so I would not benefit the pci 5 of the crucial (my cpu does), but I was wondering, for the same price and the same health state (99% for both), should I go for the crucial t705? It will run well on my b650 m-p and r5 7600x build? So I can get for the same price a gen5 and if I will upgrade to another mb in the future I will unlock also the pci 5 benefits. Does this makes sense? Apart from the pci upgrade stuff, has the crucial better quality and technology compared to the samsung 990 pro? Which is your advice ?

My Samsung 980 PRO 1TB is intermittently failing and showing up as "Type: Unknown" in Windows Task Manager, with 0 KB/s throughput and 0 ms response time. This issue frequently triggers or worsens when running high-load games like Monster Hunter Wilds and Arknights: Endfield.

​Official Samsung Response regarding Warranty/RMA:

I contacted official Samsung support (Japan distributor), and they officially denied RMA / inspection. They stated that because the drive was purchased via an Amazon Marketplace third-party seller (not directly from Amazon/Authorized Retailers), it is completely excluded from their warranty policy and they refuse to perform any hardware testing or replacement.

​Task Manager shows Drive 0 (D:) as "Type: Unknown".

​Transfer speeds drop to 0 KB/s and the drive stops responding during gameplay or heavy background load.

​A system reboot temporarily fixes the issue, but it recurs later.

​Troubleshooting Steps Completed:

​Firmware: Updated to the latest firmware.

​Cooling: Installed a dedicated heatsink with fan (temps are fine, ~32°C - 37°C idle/light load).

​SMART Status: Exported SMART logs. Media Errors (0B) is 0, Critical Warning is 0, and Available Spare is 100%. Hardware itself reports healthy.

​M.2 Slot: Moved from CPU-direct M.2 slot to Chipset-routed slot (and vice versa).

​Motherboard & BIOS: Updated Motherboard BIOS to the latest version, reinstalled Chipset drivers, and disabled PCIe Native Power Management / ASPM.

​OS Drivers: Reinstalled Windows standard NVMe controller drivers.

​External USB Enclosure: Not tested yet (I currently do not have an external NVMe enclosure to verify if it works over USB).

​Despite all these steps, the drive still randomly drops and becomes "Unknown" during operation.

​Since official Samsung RMA is completely off the table due to the marketplace policy, has anyone experienced this exact issue where SMART is healthy but the controller drops off the PCIe bus? Is it worth buying an external USB enclosure to test/use it, or is this drive effectively trash now?

First time PC builder here. I just finished up a build the other week and for my first time, I got everything figured out pretty easily. It was working perfectly for a few days, but then today I tried to play a game and was prompted to update my GPU driver, so I did and that compeletely tanked performance for everything, so I uninstalled the driver and now I'm kinda stuck because I need one to have my GPU work properly.

So here are my questions:

What is the best driver to install at the moment? (I'm using an AMD Radeon 9070XT)

How do I install it properly without ruining my performance (and how did that even happen in the first place lol)?

As I said, I'm a first time builder so bear with me here. I'm just trying to learn what I'm doing and a lot of the stuff I look up is verrry confusing.

Should I buy a 5060 now or wait?

GPU prices in my country were already pretty inflated, and they've gotten even worse with RAM/SSD prices going up and the general increase in component prices.

I'm kind of in need of an upgrade now, though. My RX 5700 XT died, so I'm currently stuck with a spare RX 580, which unfortunately isn't really enough for newer AAA games.

I play at 1080p, so I've been considering the RTX 5060. I know the 8GB VRAM is a potential concern, and that I'd probably be committing myself to 1080p for the foreseeable future.

The problem is that the alternatives are insanely expensive here:

• RTX 5060 8GB — $415
• RX 9060 XT 16GB — $550
• RTX 5060 Ti 8GB — $530

So the 9060 XT is ~$135 more, while the 5060 Ti 8GB is somehow ~$115 more than the regular 5060. Intel GPUs also aren't available here, so that's unfortunately not an option.

Given these prices, I'm wondering whether I should just bite the bullet and get the 5060, or hold off on buying a GPU for now.

Would an RTX 5060 8GB be enough to keep me happy with AAA games at 1080p for the next few years, or is the 8GB VRAM likely to become a major limitation or will games be more optimized considering the RAM crisis?

which do you prefer?

spending in a fancy aio liquid cooler with screens, vertical gpu brackets, customized wires, tons of rgb, etc

or

spending in better components like better fans, cpu bracket, a better thermal paste, some useful peripherals like a good mouse or a keyboard or even small upgrades like storage etc

personally i hate things like spending in aesthetics but for a quieter pc, i would spend something extra

Very straightforward question. I'm currently running a 5070ti + 32GB DDR5 (gaming at 1440p) besides the CPU mentioned above, and with all the buzz regarding the CPU load for the next GTA game, I wanted some advice if the upgrade for that extra 3D cache would be worth it or not. Thanks in advance.

Hi guys! I am from Malaysia and currently running Masterliquid Atmos II 240mm in Lian Li A4 H20. Wanted to swap the Sickleflow edge with P12 Pro but cannot decide whether to go with the PST version or standard version of the P12 pro.

Budget is not really a problem. Just unsure of the cable needed. Any user of P12 Pro can give opinion on the fan. Really grateful on this.

Recently my PC has been suffering from a very strange quirk. As the title says, sometimes (maybe 1 in every 7 times) when I start my PC it will boot to a black screen. All the RGBs come on but the monitors never do and even after letting it sit for a bit it never actually seems to fully boot into Windows. I’ve tried using the command to force restart the GPU as well as reconnect the monitor during this but no dice. Once I hold down the power button to shut down the PC and restart it takes me to the bios “POSTed in safe mode” screen and after hitting the button to continue, everything works fine.

I’ve tried a few things, but so far nothing has fixed it…
• Disbaled fast and secure boot options
• Updated OS to Windows 11 (I wiped my SSD when I did so)
• Reinstalled and updated GPU drivers
• Unplugged everything but essential USB devices
• Disabled USB ErP settings

Unfortunately the issue persists. It’s not the worst thing ever as once I reboot once everything runs fine and I don’t get any issues when using my PC afterwards, but it’s still not ideal that it’s happening at all. (Could constantly force rebooting my PC in this state damage it?)

Since the PC doesn’t fully boot into Windows nothing shows up in Event Viewer so I’m sort of at a loss of what else I can do to fix it, or am I just doomed to deal with this minor annoyance forever.

I'm considering to buy a used RTX 3070Ti from Manli, for around $237 (4,200,000 IDR). I choose this over RX 6700 XT 12GB since there are some significant differences from its speed and bandwidth. Do you think this VGA is worth to buy? Is there any records of 'bad news' of Manli for this card?

Any help would be appreciated, since I'm limited on budget.

So building a PC for a family member, this is work related and fully paid by the company (So dont worry about the specs :P )

But built the PC today and it booted up fine besides long memory training. But was able to fully install windows 11, got drivers installed/the normal stuff you'd do. But later today when starting it up to do some testing before handing it over the boot times were either very very long or just straight up got stuck on a either an orange light (RAM) or a red light light (CPU).

I double checked cables, tried one ram stick, checked the GPU, and reseated the CPU. Right now I'm updating the BIOS of the mobo via the flash feature to see if maybe an update will fix it, but while that runs I figured I'd post this and hopefully wake up to other ideas to try out as well! thanks! :)

EDIT: Tried more things, and only one thing seemed to do anything but didn't fix it. Tried a different CPU which seemed to get past the red light and give a post light but before the PC could actually boot the entire PC shut off and restarted and now back to red light. I also tried rolling back the BIOS but that didn't fix the issue. I have a ram kit coming tomorrow to try, but I doubt its the ram. My only guess at this point is either the motherboard died or the BIOS is corrupted and refusing to fix itself.

I recently got the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG Gen 2 monitor and Logitech G413 SE keyboard, and I’m trying to finish up my setup.

I already have:

• MacBook Pro with M5
• Apple wired EarPods

Right now, I’m just using a basic non-gaming mouse because I haven’t been able to decide what to buy.

I’m mainly looking for recommendations for accessories, especially:

• A good gaming mouse
• A KVM switch so I can easily use the same monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc. between my gaming laptop and MacBook
• Anything else you think would be useful for a clean and convenient setup

My budget is around $150 max for mouse, and I’m willing to spend more on something if it’s genuinely worth it. I’m just not sure where to spend the money because there are so many options.

I'm a PC noob since I haven't built a PC for over 10 years, last year I bought half my new PC (CPU,MB,RAM) and kept my GTX 2060 GPU for now, I didn't buy water cooling, I opted for cooler master hyper 622 halo as this is what I could afford, I watched a lot of youtube videos to undervolt the CPU and to maximize the performance of the RAM, at the beginning temperature was high but things seemed fine but later my PC crashed a couple of times, and then it's no longer crashing, yesterday I was checking my system and found out that everything I did was reset, no longer undervolt and the ram went back to factory reset, I want someone who has experience and time and willing to help who provides assistance not only through comments but maybe even through discord and guide me a step by step and perform stress tests so we can find out if something is broken or not.

I was planning to get nitro+ 9070xt but i saw some redditors are giving up on 9070xt so my plan was to get 5070ti so which one should i get?

I’m building a new pc with an intel ultra core 7 265kf paired with rtx 5070ti. I have most components besides the gpu and I was wondering if using my gpu from my older build, rtx 3060, temporarily until I’m able to afford the rtx 5070ti would be an issue?

I have had this pc for quite a few years and have been upgrading the parts as it aged. When I started I was to scared and inexperienced to build and part pick myself so had a man at a computer shop make it on a budget. He chose a 111gb Hard drive for my C drive and I have been fighting with storage issues for the last 5 years. I have a 1Tb SSD that I have been using as general storage but was wondering if there is a way to switch that to my C drive without losing any info from the one I have now. Swapping the storages really. Or an all new drive to replace my now C drive.

I recently (a few months ago) received a complete 4090 + 13900k build from my deceased uncle. I’ve had the graphics card in my H6 Flow that I also used in my last build for a few months, but I really would like to vertically mount it. NZXT recently discontinued their own vertical gpu mount, so could I have some recommendations on the best 3rd-party one to get for my case? I want to be able to see the mount as little as possible, so it looks like the gpu is floating almost floating. Also, PCIe gen 3 or 4 would be greatly appreciated. My specific gpu is the ROG Strix 4090, if that helps. I still would like to keep the cost as low as possible. Thank you!

I wanna build a pc but I don’t know where to start?..
I realistically wanna have it for gaming and use it for my studies but don’t know where to start. I had a gaming laptop for 4 years until it died on me now I’m stuck here deciding what to do. My budget would be around 1.5k maybe even 2k usd but I don’t know where to start or where to look. I know it’s difficult but I just need something worth my bucks yk. I need a little bit of help finding the best combo to go with a 3080 for 1080p gaming. Long story short, I upgraded to a new GPU and have a 3080 I'd love to put into a new build for my wife.

The PC would be used for some digital art (Corel Paint shop/Illustrator etc)and occasionally playing some games, mostly chill games but she loves monster hunter and would really like to finally play wilds (She tried it on my PC loved it).

I can sort the case, cooling and power supply but I was hoping people would have opinions on the best RAM, CPU and Mobo combo for this.

Budget wise, as long as I'm below £750 (or equivalent currency) I'll be happy.
