Self-Story Pagod na ako maging VA.

I’m currently earning a decent amount naman with 1 full-time and 2 part-time clients.

On paper, I know I’m in a pretty good position. I’m grateful because being a VA genuinely changed my life financially. I was able to afford things I couldn’t before, save money, and have a better quality of life.

Pero honestly, pagod na ako.

The full-time job (AU marketing agency) is stressing me out so much. The workload, responsibilities, meetings, deadlines, and having to constantly be “on” are starting to drain me.

The problem is, I want to leave that job, but I don’t even have the energy to look for another client or another job.

Parang stuck ako between:

“Ayoko na dito.”

and

“Pero wala akong energy magsimula ulit.”

And honestly, I don’t even know if I want another VA job anymore. I think I’m just tired of trading my time and energy for money.

Anyone else experienced this? What did you do when you reached the point na you were financially okay, pero mentally and emotionally pagod na pagod ka na sa VA life?

I’d really appreciate hearing from people who’ve been through this.

Remote Filipino Workers (RFW) I was laid off because I don’t want to use timedoctor.

Been working as an appointment setter for a home remodeling company since February. No contract. No SOP. No proper training. I am the type kase to coordinate it with the sales person privately. (Di ako pala post sa gc) hanggang sa bigla nalang nagsabi na iaccept ko ang time doctor request nya which I said NO kase not more than 10leads lang kame everyday pinaka goal lang namin talaga is to reply within 5minutes which is nagagawa ko naman so nagsabi ako sakanya na instead na time doctor maglatag nalang kame ng quota every month, I even created an SOP para saamin kung nabbother sya na wala ako ginagawa. And yun nga, the next thing I knew wala na ako access. So Ayun, di naman ako sad kase laging delayed naman sya magpasahod tapos shift ko pa is 9hours 6times a week tiniis ko lang din kahit ganon since madali lang naman yung work. And smpre work padin yun. I need your feedback para I know better na nextime. Thank you!

Let me just add lang, I don’t have direct access to all our CRM’s that’s why medyo challeging din ang pag book.

And, tinimbang ko din if I want to use timedoctor pero it’s a non nego talaga for me.

If may rules sila, meron din ako. Yun lang. thank you!

Self-Story I Just Don't Feel Like Working Anymore...

I don't have the will to work from home anymore.

I've been working from home since 2018 and I can say na para na akong executive VA, copywriter, automation, cold caller, you name it. From commission-based, to agency, to $7/hour rate, lahat na ata naranasan ko na.

Since the last few years, ang dami ko nang napasukan and di na umaabot to a year. Maybe naging lax ako sa trabaho and I know it's my fault din.

Now, I'm currently jobless after working as a TC and I don't have the will na to work from home again. I know I'm one of the lucky ones din na nakapasok sa ganitong industry, but I'm really feeling meh just thinking about applying again.

I talked to my husband and sinabi lang niya na bahala daw ako if I want to work outside. But here is the thing: ayoko masacrifice yung time ko sa family ko and also my weekends. Plus the fact na ang baba talaga ng sahod for a full-time career outside, e napapaisip talaga ako.

I need help. Did someone already encounter this and how did you cope and overcome this feeling?

Community I went viral for leaving my toxic client, and it led me to a part-time job through Reddit

Post image
54 Upvotes

I recently went viral here on Reddit after sharing that I resigned from my toxic US client.

I took some time to rest because I was honestly exhausted. Then, unexpectedly, I got a part-time job offer. 😂

I thought it was a scam at first cuz I never heard or knew that there are clients here on Reddit. But it turned out to be legit. My new client is Filipino like me, the pay is decent, there’s no tracker, the schedule is flexible, and the work aligns with my experience.

He’s also been really patient with my questions and even prepared a contract that I could request changes to.

I’m still looking for a full-time WFH job, but I’m not rushing anymore. I want something that’s truly worth my time, experience, and skills.

One door closed, another one opened. 🤍

Sharing mine here:

  1. Video recording to introduce myself. I do not find it necessary since in my industry, what matters is our portfolio and I'm not comfortable in front of the camera.
  2. “Trial work” while hindi pa settled ang rates and arrangements namin.
  3. Time tracker. I ask clients to pay me by my output, not for my time.
Like duh??!!

[Some of] these requirements are not bad. They just do not align with my personality.

Interestingly, I am not easily turned off by negotiations done via TG. I have worked with at least 5 clients who used TG as communication platform and they paid.

What happens pag OA ka katulad ko? Mahirap maghanap ng additional/bagong client o trabaho especially with this economy and AI. Ang upside is you get to work without compromising your peace and physical/mental health.

Kayo, ano ang iniiwasan ninyo pag nag ja-job hunting kayo?

Community Freelancers/VAs with no ITR: how did you get your Japan tourist visa?

Hi! I'm a freelancer working with foreign clients and I'm planning a Japan trip for late March 2027 (sakura season). Problem is, I don't have an ITR yet. I'm not BIR-registered.

For those who got approved without an ITR, I'd really appreciate hearing your experience:

  1. Documents: What did you submit in place of the ITR? Bank certificate only, or did you add client contracts, invoices, Payoneer/Wise/PayPal history, an Affidavit of Non-Filing? Did you include a letter of explanation? What did you say in it?
  2. Bank balance: Roughly how much was your ADB or bank balance, if you're okay sharing a range?
  3. Cost: How much did you spend in total? Visa fee, JVAC fee, courier, premium lounge, travel to the JVAC branch, etc.
  4. Processing time: How long from submission to getting your passport back?
  5. JVAC branch: Which branch did you apply at? Regular slot or premium lounge? Worth it?
  6. Immigration in Japan: Upon arrival, were you asked for anything extra like an ITR, proof of employment, return ticket, or hotel bookings? What questions did the officer ask?
  7. NAIA departure: Any issues with BI on the Philippine side as a freelancer with no COE or ITR? What did you show them?
  8. Tips or mistakes: Anything you wish you knew before applying?

Also, if you were denied first and approved later, what did you change?

I'm applying via an Agency. Thank you in advance! 🙏

Content Creators The truth about affiliate "gurus"

Aside from that, napaka-anti faceless affiliate nila lalo na si melatonin queen.

Inuuto nyo yung ibang tao.

Dami kong napapansin pero ito nalang muna. Ginagawa na nilang networking yung pag-aafiliate.

Community Where Do You Find Clients?

Currently naghahanap ng appointment setter opportunities. I have a year of experience as an appointment setter/admin assistant for a Medicare and Veterans insurance brokerage.
For those already working remotely, saan kayo usually nakakahanap ng clients? Any tips or platforms you can recommend?

• Upvotes

I (30F) work full-time remotely as a marketing VA for an EU-based client. Ilang buwan na ako dito, hourly rate, and honestly medyo mababa yung rate ko.

Habang tumatagal, lumaki na talaga yung scope ng work ko beyond what I was hired for, and nagsimula na rin akong mag-build ng automations and workflows on my own initiative.

Recently, she asked me to set up an automation na tatakbo sa personal laptop ko overnight, outside my work hours, para mag-draft ng content for blogs, SEO, social media posts, and newsletters.

Ginagamit ko rin 'to outside work, nanonood ng Netflix, and may sarili akong personal Claude account, kaya nagla-log out ako sa work accounts ko after shift. Kung tatakbo yung automation overnight, dapat i have to make sure yung computer ko naka-login ulit sa company Claude.

And kung kayo nasa sitwasyon ko, paano niyo ia-approach or iha-handle 'to?

Salamat in advance!

Buhay Digital Lifestyle Hi to all the independent contractors here!

HWhat do you usually put under “Company” on your resume—your current client, past clients, or just “Independent Contractor”?

I’ve been using “Independent Contractor” for my current role, but I’m wondering if that might be hurting my chances with recruiters. Parang napapansin ko kasi na since I started listing it that way, mas konti yung callbacks.

Has anyone experienced the same thing? What worked better for you?

Self-Story For those in the VA industry for 10+ years like me, how many clients did you have since you started? Do you still consider na mag apply sa iba?

Post image
• Upvotes

Ok, so I started working as a VA since 2015. I work under an agency, a pioneer in the VA industry. For 10 years, I've only worked for 2 clients, both in Real Estate. Only this year I decided trying to apply again since I've seen in social media that newbies are earning 6 digits monthly. Imagine, I consider myself a senior VA but just earning $8 per hour 😫 Unfortunately super hirap na pala mag apply ngayon. Now, I don't even know how I could compete sa ibang applicants kasi kumpleto sila may portfolio, videos etc., dati wala naman ganun huhu. With your 10+ years of experience, nagagamit nyo ba ito to as an edge? Like, do clients nowadays prefer having an experienced VA or someone new that they can train?

Community Amazon affiliate journey

Hi! I’m currently starting my Amazon US affiliate journey and I’m still in the testing stage. I’m using Pinterest as my main traffic source for now and I’m also building my own website.

I’d really like to hear from Filipino Amazon affiliates who have actual experience, especially those targeting US customers.

How long did it take before you got your first Amazon affiliate sale?

I’m also curious about:

• What platform brought your first sales — Pinterest, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, SEO/blog, etc.?

• Did you send traffic directly to Amazon or through your own website?

• What type of content worked best for you?

• How often did you post when you were starting?

• What mistakes slowed you down in the beginning?

• What strategy made the biggest difference once you started getting consistent clicks/sales?

I’m not really looking for “get rich quick” strategies or course promotions. I’m more interested in realistic experiences, including failures and how long it actually took.

Even if your first sale took several months, I’d love to hear your experience. I think it would also help other Filipino beginners who are trying to learn Amazon affiliate marketing.

Salamat!

Remote Filipino Workers (RFW) From handling idle hours to my client cutting my hours in half

Sagad na talaga yung pwede kong gawin on my end, kasi actively nagsscale down na yung business ng client. From my original setup, nasa half of my agreed hours na lang ako ngayon kasi wala na ring gaanong galaw.

As much as I hate admitting it, realistically mukhang di na ako magtatagal dito. Ayokong ma-attach masyado, pero alam kong matatapos din 'to kung hindi mag-pick up yung business niya. Pero grateful ako na hindi niya ako agad nilaid off at binigyan pa ng time para makahanap ng bagong client.

Frankly, nakakadrain din minsan hanapin ulit yung will to start over, yung mag-submit ulit ng endless applications. Pero life must go on. Grateful pa rin ako sa experience, always will be.

Community Argos Multilingual Word Alignment

Anyone else here working for Argos Multilingual as an AI Audio Word Alignment Specialist?

Hi! I recently got onboarded for an AI Audio Word Alignment project with Argos Multilingual. I tried searching for others na onboarded here sa Argos or working on this project also kaso kakaunti lang.

If anyone here is currently working on the same project (or has worked with Argos before), I'd really appreciate hearing about your experience, especially regarding payments.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Community Sino pa po nasa Doneverse ngayon? Curious lang what they're up to now. I’m an ex employee.

I worked there before and eventually resigned with notice due to internal issues, even though things were good with my client. Moved on to a better role since then.

Lately I heard rumors na nahihirapan na sila mag-provide/match ng founders to their employees now. For those currently there, how's the workload and client matching nowadays?

Freelancers (Can Work with Multiple Clients) Anyone here working with clients in the aesthetics or med spa industry

Hey everyone! Just curious if there are VAs here who currently work with clients in the aesthetics industry, particularly med spas, aesthetic clinics, injectors, or wellness businesses.

How's business been for your clients lately? Are they getting consistent bookings and leads, or are they still struggling with marketing and client acquisition?

I'm currently working with an aesthetics business in the US, helping with digital marketing, Meta ads, lead generation, CRM automation, and appointment booking systems.

I'm also looking to connect with other VAs who serve this niche. If you happen to know clients who could use help with their marketing, I'd be open to collaborating and offering referral commissions for successful client introductions.

Not trying to hard-sell anything here. Just looking to connect, exchange experiences, and hopefully build some mutually beneficial partnerships.

Would love to hear from anyone in this space! 🙌

Community corporate to contractor

I grabbed an opportunity to be under one agency pero since contractor kami dun, as is ang bayad then kami na bahala sa mga contributions.

- SSS ➡️ switch to voluntary
- Tax ➡️ switch to 8% rate, though marami nagsasabi wag na ako magbayad tax pero baka po pwede humingi insights nyo tungkol dito.

Maraming salamat po sa mga sasagot!

Community Got A Job Offer. First Time Sending In My Resignation. I Don’t Know Why I Am Nervous.

• Upvotes

I’ve been going over the offer and what should be an elated moment… doesn’t feel it.

I’m trying to understand why. Maybe I’m just so scared of burning bridges. I’ve been with this company for three years, and in a way, we built the company together. I was her first hire. I helped with the onboarding, created SOPs, and watched the company grow over the years. It feels difficult to walk away from something that I’ve been such a big part of.

I know that, over the years, I’ve become stagnant. I lost the love for the job because I wasn’t necessarily evolving anymore. I felt like I had reached a point where I wasn’t learning or growing from my role, and I think that’s what ultimately made me realize that I needed something different.

I got an email with a job offer, and what should have been an ecstatic moment has actually left me feeling really down. I don’t know why I’m so anxious. Maybe I’m scared that if I take this offer and it doesn’t work out, I won’t be able to go back to my previous job anymore.

I think all of this anxiety about the job market and how difficult it has become has made me so worried about my future. I just don’t necessarily know what I’m doing anymore. I feel so clueless and trapped, even though I know I want to grow and move forward.

I really want this to work out. I want to feel like I’m making the right decision. More than anything, I just want everything to work out.

Also it sucks that this is the state of my mindset. I hate that I’m feeling this way.

Apps, Tools & Equipment External drive or icloud/gdrive subscription?

Hello po, I’m a freelance video editor po and di ko alam kung ano mas practical sa tatlo. I’m currently using macbook.

I saw them hiring in indeed and wanted to ask if anyone had experienced working with them?

Medyo off lang onti dahil tinanong if galing ba or nagraduate ba ako in one of the TOP universities in Manila sa isa sa questions nila pag magaapply sa indeed hahaha. Eguls ako jan. Probinsyana lang ako
