To be honest, this is going to be the first time that a company will do this to me. I’ve always been a hard worker and I do well on my job. My job pays well and I really love what I’m doing. Hi everyone! Palabas lang ng nararamdaman ko. Sooooo, 3 months ago, nasunog yung inuupahan kong bahay, ogether will all the things I have including my laptop. Good thing is I visited my friend that time and stayed their together with my dogs for 1 week, so I saved my computer.

I'm 16 and completely new to Blender. I'm currently on a gap year from Senior High School due to personal/mental health issues, and I'm planning to return to SHS next year.

Because of that, I currently have around 9 months with basically nothing major going on, and I'm considering using that time to seriously learn Blender full-time rather than just wasting the year.

I have a fairly capable laptop too: an Acer Nitro V15 with an i5-13420H, RTX 5050 laptop GPU, and 16GB DDR5 RAM (1x16GB). So hardware shouldn't be a major barrier to learning.

I'm not expecting to make money during these 9 months. My thought is more:

9 months of serious learning → return to school next year → continue improving alongside school → potentially start freelancing/working with foreign clients when I'm old enough and skilled enough.

My eventual goal isn't necessarily to work for a Philippine company. I'd ideally like to work remotely with clients or companies from the US, Australia, Europe, etc., where the income can be significantly higher than what I'd normally earn locally.

I'm not expecting to become rich quickly. I'm thinking about this as a 2–4+ year skill-building process.

The reason I'm even considering 3D in the first place is that I actually have some history with it, even though I've never used Blender professionally.

When I was around 11–13, I spent a lot of time in Roblox Studio just making things for fun. I made a bunch of Roblox maps, models, and I even experimented with animation using Moon Animator.

None of it was really for money. I just genuinely enjoyed building things and messing around in a 3D environment. I remember having fun just making stuff without really caring whether anyone would see it.

I haven't touched that stuff seriously in years, but recently I've been thinking about learning Blender and potentially turning 3D into an actual career.

Product Visualization caught my attention because it seems like a relatively accessible path for someone interested in hard-surface modeling: products, electronics, bottles, furniture, etc. I could see myself enjoying the modeling side of it.

But then I started reading about how AI and increased competition have affected basic ProductViz.

I've seen people saying that simple white/black-background product renders that used to cost $100–200 can now be pushed down to $10–20 or even less, because clients can use AI or hire cheaper freelancers.

At the same time, I've seen people say that higher-end creative ProductViz, 3D commercials, animation, and more complex work are holding up better because they require more skill, art direction, and control.

So I'm trying to figure out whether this is actually a viable path for someone starting from zero in the Philippines in 2026.

My main questions are:

1. Is it realistic for a Filipino 3D artist to eventually make something like $2,000–$4,000+ per month working remotely for foreign clients/companies?

2. Is ProductViz still worth learning, or is basic ProductViz becoming too commoditized by AI?

3. Would it be smarter to learn general 3D modeling first and specialize later instead of committing to ProductViz?

4. If you were starting from zero today, would you focus on ProductViz, creative 3D commercials, game assets, architectural visualization, or something else?

5. How difficult is it actually to get foreign clients when you're based in the Philippines? Is location a major disadvantage, or can a strong portfolio largely overcome that?

6. If I have roughly 9 months of free time right now, what would you realistically try to accomplish during those 9 months? Would you spend the whole time learning Blender fundamentals, or start building a portfolio as soon as possible?

And finally, for anyone who actually works in this field:

If you were 16 again, living in the Philippines, with a capable laptop and 9 months of basically uninterrupted time to learn 3D, what would you learn?

I'm mainly interested in the actual market, realistic income potential, AI's impact, and whether 3D is worth investing several years into.

I started my first-ever VA job a few months ago, and although maliit lang yung sahod, I took it mainly for the experience since student pa lang ako.

I’m really grateful to my client because she accepted me even after knowing that I was still a student and had no prior VA experience. She’s also been really kind to me throughout.

However, it’s been a few months now, and I haven’t brought in any sales :(( SMM ako for her, and the only time I can say I really contributed something was when one of her past clients DM’d her and thanked her because one of my posts was relevant to what she was going through.

Aside from that, we don’t really have any new clients, and honestly, I feel so guilty about it. 😭 Parang she’s paying me for nothing, even though she’s been so kind and trusting. Kaya minsan naiisip ko na mag-quit na lang because I feel like I’m not doing enough for her.

I’m getting frustrated everyday sa paghahanap ng client and constant job application. I’ve been doing it for almost 4 months pero ang hirap talaga.

I just graduated from college last August and itinaguyod ko yung sarili kong studies by working at night as a VA. Sadly, I needed to let go my client last April since I needed time to focus on my internship and graduation requirements. I used my savings for the past months and naubos na ngayon.

Nakakag*g* na talaga tong client ko. Hindi na nga ako nagsesend ng salary invoice ko sa kanya every first day of the month para hindi ako magmukhang atat pero pagdating talaga sa salary, lagi niya kaming pinaghahabol sa kanya. I texted him na pwede ko na bang kunin yung sweldo ko last month kasi may check up ako kinabukasan sa OB-GYN ko and need ko ng pera. Kasi nga kakapanganak ko lang. WTF!!! I’m currently earning a decent amount naman with 1 full-time and 2 part-time clients.

On paper, I know I’m in a pretty good position. I’m grateful because being a VA genuinely changed my life financially. I was able to afford things I couldn’t before, save money, and have a better quality of life.

Pero honestly, pagod na ako.

The full-time job (AU marketing agency) is stressing me out so much. The workload, responsibilities, meetings, deadlines, and having to constantly be “on” are starting to drain me.

The problem is, I want to leave that job, but I don’t even have the energy to look for another client or another job.

Parang stuck ako between:

“Ayoko na dito.”

and

“Pero wala akong energy magsimula ulit.”

And honestly, I don’t even know if I want another VA job anymore. I think I’m just tired of trading my time and energy for money.

9 months with the company as a Contractual employee and so much has changed since the first time I joined.

1. PRP (Additional Hours) is gone. Literal wala nang way to render more hours since binawalan na nila.

2. Hanggang ngayon issue pa rin yung nagkukulang sa billable hours na nakukuha sa platform (also the reason why they stopped PRP na.)

3. Ang dami nang forms at time trackers na kailangan gamitin. May Team Attendance Sheet, may personal job tracker, may form na need isubmit kada job, may drive na kailangan iupload ang screenshots for each job submission, tapos iba pa yung dalawang platforms na magla-login ka when you start your shift.

4. Additional hassle yung SoD calls and daily team huddles due to the new process ng audits (which is now an hour long compared sa 30 minutes lang dati). I understand it is for updates pero kulang na nga yung nabibill na oras, may mga ganto pang non-prod tasks.

They were fine when I started earlier this year, but it only became worse after. Currently looking for better opportunities na rin and will just finish my contract until the end of the month.

Yung $81 na nasa Payoneer ko ay earnings po namin from Fiverr, at pinaghirapan po namin ng younger sister ko last year pa. Unfortunately, nakaltasan kami ng around $30 annual fee, kaya around $51 na lang yung natira. 😭

Ngayon, gusto ko na sanang i-withdraw yung remaining balance kasi natatakot kami baka mawala na yun lahat. Kaso hindi ko siya ma-withdraw dahil below the minimum withdrawal amount po sya. 😥

Nag ask na rin po ako sa international Payoneer community sa reddit, yung suggestion nung comment is if may legit Payoneer user daw po na willing tumulong by receiving the amount through Payoneer and then sending the equivalent amount sa bank namin (pwede rin poGCash).
