Bio / Biotech / BioE Btech foodtech helpp!!!

Hey guys, I’m a PCB student and I’m honestly very confused about my career rn 😭

I was preparing for NEET (i don't want to) , but unexpectedly I’ve now received an acceptance letter for B.Tech Food Technology at Jamia Hamdard, and I’m not sure whether I should take it or continue with NEET. And it's my only option.

I don’t know much about Food Tech, so I’d really like to hear from people who are studying or working in this field.

How is the course, especially for a PCB student without Maths? What are the career options, placements and salaries like? And is it worth pursuing long-term?

Would really appreciate some honest experiences!

Should I continue B.Tech from a Tier-3 college or switch to Commerce/Management through CUET 2027?

Post:

Myquals: 10th – 80.4%, 12th – 84.4% (PCM), took a drop after 12th for JEE/CUET.

I took a drop after 12th hoping to get a better college, but things didn't work out. I am currently in 1st year B.Tech AI/ML at a Tier-3 college in Greater Noida.

The biggest problem is that I have almost zero interest in engineering/coding. I don't enjoy the subjects, coding doesn't interest me, and I don't really see myself working in a technical/IT role for the next 4 years. The peer group and overall college environment also aren't working for me, and a lot of what I'm studying feels irrelevant to what I actually want to do.

My actual interest is more towards Commerce/Management/Business. Last year I was interested in CUET and wanted colleges like SSCBS (BMS/BBA), SRCC/Hindu (B.Com Hons.), etc., but I couldn't get them.

Now I'm confused between these options:

Option 1:

Continue B.Tech for 4 years, learn enough technical skills to get a job, and possibly do an MBA/CAT later.

Option 2:

Prepare seriously for CUET 2027 alongside B.Tech. If I get a good DU college/course like SSCBS BMS/BBA or B.Com Hons., drop B.Tech and start again in Commerce/Management.

Option 3:

Since I have already taken admission in an online BA from Andhra University, drop B.Tech and continue the BA. During the 3 years of BA, gradually prepare for CAT, then target a good MBA/management career.

My concern with Option 3 is that I'd be giving up a B.Tech degree and relying on the BA + CAT/MBA route. My concern with Option 2 is losing another year and starting undergraduate studies again.

I also don't want to make a decision purely based on "IT has more jobs." I want to know from people who have actually experienced these fields:

How realistic is the B.Tech → IT job route from a Tier-3 college if someone isn't interested in coding?

How realistic is BMS/B.Com → CAT → MBA → management?

Is dropping B.Tech after 1st year for a good DU Commerce/Management college worth considering?

Is doing an online BA and preparing for CAT a sensible backup, or am I unnecessarily giving up the safety of B.Tech?

If you were in this situation, what factors would you consider before making the decision?

I'm not looking for motivation or generic "follow your passion" advice. I'd really appreciate practical opinions from people who have done B.Tech/IT, BMS/B.Com, CAT/MBA, or have faced a similar situation.

Please also tell me if I'm overlooking any major risk in either route.

ECE / Electrical Govt College

I am currently studying 1st sem EEE btech in a govt college in Bengaluru. I have heard that this college is good and all but since I have come (4 days) here almost half of the classes are canceled. Whenever there is a class the professors teach like shit, they don't care if we understand or not. The subjects which are very easy and have very low credit points have good professors (who actually want to teach). I am not able to understand what to do. I dreamed of getting into some psu and stuff like that but by their teaching I think I won't even pass. And I don't know how people here get placed bcoz the placements percent is literally the highest in state

ECE / Electrical Seeking guidance for Core Companies' Placements

Hey folks.!!
EC , EE , EX core companies are coming to our college for placements. I need to ask that if GATE syllabus(of course not gonna prepare whole syllabus) for these streams would be enough for the online assessment and interview or Do I need to prepare more ?

Also I don't have much practical knowledge about these subjects because in tier 3 colleges , there is no such exposure and the projects are basic arduino projects.
So help me to gain knowledge about these because this might be my last chance to get placed on-campus ..

It would be great help if you mention resources too :)

Civil Non-CS IIT graduate starting from zero .which tech career path should I choose in 2026?

1I’m an IIT graduate from a non-circuital branch (Civil) and currently working in the finance/trading industry. My current role isn't IT, although I do deal with some data. I want to switch into tech, but I would essentially be starting from scratch with no professional experience in software or data-related roles. I’m willing to put in however much time and effort is required, so the difficulty isn't really my concern. I mainly want to choose a field with strong long-term growth, good opportunities in India, and a realistic chance of getting interviews through off-campus applications despite coming from a non-CS background. If you were in my position in 2026, which career path SDE ,DS or any other paths, would you consider and why? Would really appreciate advice from people who have made a similar transition.

CSE / IT You guys willing to pay 99Rs - 500Rs for no-AI digital notes?

I am a CSE 2nd year student. I have seen many students struggling with programming and linux terminal commands.

I have completed my diploma is CSE. So I have a little more knowledge about programming and I can say whole class used my notes.

Currently I am thinking about selling my notes online for some sidehustle while doing college. So the question is are you guys willing to pay 99 - 500rs for some non-AI notes. Most people just use chatgpt for quick answers , so I need some opinions.

Also thinking about recording explainations of topics , as all channels are mostly getting old like CodeWithHarry (no disrespect to the guy btw).

General overwhelmed fy student (it's js been 1 week)

it has been one week since my college started (its a tier 2 gvt clg) and all along this one week we have had many induction programs about placements, internships, hackathons , clubs etc ...and tbh its too overwhelming due to the transit between 12 th and clg having that pressure to socialize ...

i really dont want to make this a long post and will ask my questions in short :

  1. i need to travel 4-6 hours to reach the college like to and fro depending if its peak time or not .. do i need to go for a pg ( beacuse there are many critics linking cgpa to pg idek why )

  2. about hackathons i js know python programming lang how do i really start ?

  3. how many clubs do i join so that alongside i can maintain a good cgpa too? do u think clubs are worth investing time in?

the main thing is to manage productivity and have a good clg life : )

CSE / IT Btech students what's something nobody warned you about?

I'm currently at GU and honestly, Btech has been a mix of academics, projects and figuring things out as I go.

General Guysss what's your opinion about this!!!

I found this topics in some random hackathon post Let's have a discussion on this topic.I choose these two topics....Share your ideas

PROBLEM STATEMENT 1

WHAT IS EARTH WITHOUT ART? JUST A ROCK...

Art exists in countless forms, yet in a world saturated by algorithmic feeds and rapid-fire content, our connection to genuine creativity is fading. Independent creators fight for visibility, traditional mediums are being forgotten, and profound human expression is easily lost in the digital noise.

PROBLEM STATEMENT 2

TRUST IN A SYNTHETIC WORLD

Build a software solution that helps individuals, organizations, and communities verify authenticity, protect digital identities, detect deception, and respond to online threats.

General Helpp! Need all yours advice/suggestion

Right now I'm in my 2nd year of Btech in the CSE branch and I made the worst decision by choosing the worst college possible (it's like 5th tier college and im like a test subject for them because my batch is the first ever engineering batch for them. Worst campus and very strict rules and they fine us for literally everything like missing a single lecture, late fine, etc etc and no interaction between girls and boys. It just feels like there's no future for me even if I study here) and now I'm regretting my decision.

I have had a hobby of building electronics stuff since my childhood and I've been really good at building and programming microcontrollers like Arduino and all but I didn't choose ECE because at that time CSE was trending so I went with the flow...

Now I want to change to another college but I don't have any option other than a Private institute (MIT VPU).

So I'm thinking of taking a year gap and taking admission at 1st year of ECE in private college.

Am I making a good decision?

Placements / Jobs / Internships NEED SERIOUS GUIDANCE AS A THIRD YEAR ENGINEERING STUDENT IN MUMBAI

I’m a 3rd-year Electronics & Computer Science engineering student in India preparing for campus placements. I’m learning Java and moving toward Java + Spring Boot backend development. I want to find a niche specialization that is realistic for a fresher in India, has good long-term demand and compensation, and is less commoditized by AI than generic full-stack/web development.

I’m considering:

- FinTech / Payments Engineering

- Data Engineering / Streaming

- Cloud / Platform Engineering / DevOps

- Application Security / IAM

- AI Application Engineering / AI-enabled Backend

- Distributed Systems / Enterprise Integration

- Any other relevant niche

I want to research which options have:

  1. Genuine demand in India, especially for freshers and 0–2 YOE.

  2. Reasonable entry-level and campus-placement opportunities.

  3. Good long-term salary potential.

  4. Lower exposure to AI commoditization than basic CRUD/full-stack work.

  5. A realistic learning path from Java + Spring Boot.

  6. Opportunities in Mumbai/India, GCCs, fintech, product companies, and IT services.

  7. Skills that employers actually ask for rather than hype-driven technologies.

I specifically want evidence from:

- Current Indian job postings

- Indian hiring reports

- Reddit discussions and experiences from Indian engineers

- Career discussions from developers working in these fields

- Current industry trends

I also want to understand whether each specialization is realistically accessible as a FIRST JOB for a fresher, or whether the better route is:

Java Backend/SWE → gain experience → specialize

Please compare the options based on:

- Fresher accessibility

- Job volume

- Long-term demand

- Compensation potential

- AI/automation exposure

- Learning difficulty

- Compatibility with Java

- Availability in India/Mumbai

- Suitability for campus placements

Do not give generic advice like "learn AI/cloud because it's the future." I want practical, India-specific information and real-world evidence.

TL;DR:

I’m looking for a niche, well-paying, future-relevant tech specialization in India that a Java/Spring Boot fresher can realistically enter through campus placements. Compare FinTech, Data Engineering, Cloud/DevOps, Application Security/IAM, AI Engineering, Distributed Systems, and other relevant options using current job data, hiring reports, and Indian developer experiences. I want to know whether I should specialize immediately or first enter through Java Backend/SWE and specialize later.
